I'm reading Heir to the Empire right now. I love the Star Wars setting, so I thought I'd give the books a try. So far it's good, better than I expected. I'm also listening to The Lost World from audible.com during my commute. I love pretty much all the Crichton I've ever read. It's always exciting.

I would love to join you for the discussion though I am definitely no "expert". ;-) When I was about 11 I fell in love with this book and since that time I've reread it several times. It's been almost 10 yaers since I last opened the book so after finishing The Count of Monte Cristo I might be temted to one more reread.
I finished 11/22/63 by Stephen King this afternoon and it was brilliant! Now I've started reading Four to Score by Janet Evanovich.
I'm reading Frances Hodgson Burnett's
The Secret Garden.
She uses the word "queer" a LOT. Different worlds...

I've also read
The Three Musketeers many times, the first being when I was a tween. There's something so romantic about the adventure, don't you think?
Right now I'm reading Blue Sky Days by Marie Landry. I got it free as one of those read & review things. I'm 5 or 6 chapters into it so far and it's pretty boring. the novel is not very well written and its meant to be a YA romance novel but the main characters who are 19 & 22 talk like their in their 60's! And if that wasn't bad enough, the love story is far too unrealistic, so I'm finding it very hard to connect with the characters. I think this is one novel where I'm definitely going to struggle through it.

i thought veronika was a waste of time too. Not a big coelho fan after that. and yes, 11 minutes is a good one.
I decided its about time I started reading more classics so yesterday I started reading
by Emily Bronte.
Last night I finished On the Edgeand I startedUnearthlybut I may put it on hold to readThe Hunger Games.

I'm not much for sci-fi, but after seeing a program on
Philip K. Dick, I would like to read one of his books. Have you seen the movie Blade Runner? I do believe that it was based on that book. Enjoy! Can't wait to see your review!

Right now, I'm currently reading Chasing Mona Lisa and Shoot the Moon. I also will try to pick up Winnie-the-Pooh at the library this week.

Yeah. It`s on my nightstand. I can never control myself. I like to have the book next to me when I finish one. I`m not much for sci-fi either. Let`s see how I like this one.
For my local book club, Exodus
by Leon Uris
. I can't wait to be finished with it. Not my cup o' tea.

I must say that the description for the book is quite grandiose!

Yes, Lisa, "grandiose" is what the story is. Big and self-important... my opinion.
Reading East of Eden for pleasure and Their Eyes Were Watching God for English class...next on my fathomless list? Not sure yet...

Lisa and Suzanne, I'm always interested to know what people think after they've finished Mockingjay. If you get a chance when you're done, write and let me know, ok? Catching Fire was probably my favorite of the series.

I have read the series. The funny thing is that we started a discussion thread on this book with this club. It was started when we were still a private group and had 4 members, and all of us were hooked and desperate to read it immediately when it came out. It is still there under group discussions, if you would like to participate/discuss. It isn't a classic, but at the time we just wanted to discuss it as a group, I guess that is the joy of being a moderator! (ha)

I've just finished Hot Six by Janet Evanovich, now I'm reading Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.
Daughter got me hooked on a manga series called Death Note. I thought I would read the first one to get an idea of what she's been reading. I'm on number five now, almost ready for six...

That is usually how it goes! Read one and then get hooked!

I am finally back after taking a break for a few months. I just finished
on audiobook and loved it. It was fascinating to me! I just started
today and hope to get it done this weekend. I am looking forward to our May reads and I need to read some obscure book for my in person bookclub (what's the acronym for that again...). Not too excited about that book but we'll see.
