Hi Lynn, I just started this series also. I am on the last book Monsters of Men. Keep reading...it only gets better! I usually like romance in my books too, Todd & Viola have something going on, but being so young...it's all embarrassing and whatnot. I love this series!!!

Also...welcome to all our new members!

nightlyreadingheather (heatherhy01) Welcome Meredith. The Hunger Games is also one of my favorites!!! I love HON too! You should read Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers series...I bet you would enjoy them too!

message 555: by Amy (new)

What do you think??? I was just looking through my books and thought I really liked Matched. I should maybe read it again so that I am ready for Crossed. I have read alot of books in that area and I hate getting them mixed up. If you liked Matched you will most likey like Wither. Read it is good!!! I also like Body Finders...and different era but still good. I just went to the libary and am on hold for The Water Wars!

Hello :) I love that you like to talk about book topics, because I do too! I was wondering if you would be interested in joining my book club? It is called Kerra's Weekly Book Club and it is on blogtalkradio. It is for book lovers of all ages and we read books together and talk about book topics! I just started and I am trying to get more people to join. I only want a number of about 10 to 12 people to join my club and so far I have 3 for sure. So if you are interested, let me know and I will let you know more about it :)

Alyssia (aly418) | 14 comments Hiya! I'm Alyssia and I'm addicted to reading. I read on average a book a day which basically means that without my local library I probably spend all my time in Foyles, sitting in one of those comfy leather chairs reading them without buying them and putting them back on the shelves. How sad is that? one thing that really annoys me the books nearly always come out in the US before the UK so while Americans are reviewing the books I've been waiting for for months I am sitting in my room wallowing in self-pity. Anyway, the point is my life is nothing without books :D

wow! you must be a very fast reader! :D i tried doing that in waterstones but i get so self-conscious sometimes. and im a very slow reader too :( but i agree with you that books come out quite late here in the UK.

message 572: by Alyssia (new)

Alyssia (aly418) | 14 comments My tricks for reading in a bookstore without being self-conscious are:
1. Do it in a really big bookstore. I reccomend Foyles or Waterstones Gower street.
2. Find yourself a nice comfy seat (preferably leather).
3. Accumulate a nice stack of books before you sit down, so that you don't have to get up.
4. Go early, leave late.
5. Always find a nice quiet place to read. (Perhaps, an instore cafe)
And if you're a slow reader, just practice! I'm only a fast reader because I've always loved reading although both my parents love reading, so it's fair to say I got a double dose of the reading gene. :D

message 578: by Beatrix (new)

Beatrix (smiley_omnomnom) Hihi! My name's Trixie, and I really can't answer the favorite books question - I have a lot. (:
My favorite genre is paranormal, YA, or fantasy. I'm beginning to dive into steampunk, though.

message 579: by Beatrix (new)

Beatrix (smiley_omnomnom) I got into steampunk through Clockwork Angel, and I really loved it. I recently added a "steampunk" shelf, and I'm looking forward to reading those books. After finishing the Earthsea Cycle, I'll begin my adventure with the steampunk books.
I'm excited for it. c:

message 580: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Hi, my name's Sophie Sorge. (Gosh! I wanted to write "my book's Sophie". Weird.) I'm from Germany and totally obsessed with every kinds of books. My favourite books are Rubinrot[in English called "Red" (UK) and "Ruby Red" (USA)], Saphirblauand Smaragdgrün by Kerstin Gier and - of course - Harry Potter. Can't understand the people don't like this. He's my child-hood hero. And Draco... Draco... *just can't discribe* I love to write, too. Fanfictions and other stories (I cannot call them "novels" because they aren't. I haven't finished ONE yet^^) I also really like to sing and/or hear music. I haven't mentioned reading yet, have I? Yes... I have. *ahem* Yeah, I think that's it. - At first. ;) xx

Thanks for the feedback on the "Knife" series. I'm definitely in awe of the author's ability to sustain Todd's unique, fractured voice throughout. At times, it's almost poetic. Will definitely keep reading...
BTW, have you come across any other YA titles that are similarly unique in voice? It's refreshing to read something so new and individual.
