Introducing Yourself :)

I'm seriously considering self-publishing a YA fantasy in early summer. I'm just wondering how you discovered Amanda Hocking as an author?

I liked "Ender's Game" a lot too. Did you read the second book, "Speaker for the Dead," and if so, what did you think of it?

When you reach me
Artemis Fowl
and Double Identity.
I love almost every book I read. I am a proud weirdo.

I loved The Hobbit. I've read it more than LOTR, but I LOVE The Lord of the Rings better. I also like The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, and some non-Middle Earth books like Smith of Wootton Major and Farmer Giles of Ham and I can't remember but I think I read another Tolkien book.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely have to check it out. I'm all for the unusual.

Just Listen, The Truth About Forever, This Lullaby, and Along For The Ride.
Not necessarily in that order, but I think Just Listen will always be my favorite because of the time in my life when I read it.

Hi, Brittany: I'm actually a published children's book writer (early grade, commercial stuff like Barbie, Disney's Pooh, etc.) currently working on a YA novel. Like you, I'm a book-lover (duh!) Am about 3/4 of the way through "Knife of the Never Letting Go" which I understand is a series (this is the first book). Really different, in voice, plot, and characterization. The protagonist is a 13 yr old male so this might grab the boy audience, but girls should like it too (there's a 13 yr old female character, Viola, who is an important secondary character). Anyway, just a suggestion if you're looking for something compelling and a bit unusual...
