Yeah I was born in Chicago, lived in the Philippines from age 1-3 years old, then went back for a summer vacation when I was 6 years old but that's it :( My lolos, lolas and pinsans have mainly come to visit me here, or now they keep in touch with facebook and skype :) I hope to go back to visit soon though!

Yeah I don't really remember anything from my time there :X Also, Tagalog was my first language, but when I moved back to the US to start school, I had to learn English and now I barely remember any Tagalog :(

@Remmy & Kristine -- I've mainly been practicing reading/writing because my aunts all post in Tagalog on their facebook so when I comment, I try to write in all Tagalog. I practice speaking when I go home to visit my parents, but there are words I don't know the Tagalog word for so I end up speaking a mix of Tagalog/English lol

@Anna -- I know what you mean that I still know it by heart because there are some times where I don't know how or where I learned a word or phrase, it just comes back to me!

Hey, I'm Lynn. I'm older than you guys and I'm a published writer (mostly preschool, Barbie, Winnie the Pooh stuff). I've started writing YA and I'm hooked! Just wanted to join a forum where I could talk to others who like to read YA (since that's all I basically read these days) and find out if what I like is what you like. I'm reading "Knife of the Never Letting Go" by Patrick Ness now. Like it, though it's a little weird and it hasn't got any romance. My favorite books feature some romance, if not the focus of the book.

Have you read Entwined by Heather Dixon? If not, you definately need to. I got it on Tuesday, and I couldn't put it down. If I didn't have to sleep or work, I would have finished it in a day. It is romance, fantasy, historical fiction all wrapped up in one. I think you would love it.
