Stephanie, would love to send you my book. Check out Sara's Gift:Comes the Crow. I'll send you a copy if you like.

Hi Carol - I could have written this post. I loved all the books you mentioned. I love James Patterson, especially his Alex Cross novels. Big Twilight fan and I am currently on "Burned" in the House of Night series. Welcome!
Curious - are you an adult or teen?

Happy to see what folks are reading.

I'm Aimee Laine and I write paranormal romance for adults. So why am I here in this YA group? Because my alter ego, Emi Gayle writes paranormal romance for YA. :)
I have written 2 novels thus far and am working on the 2nd in The Choice Trilogy (After Dark, Day After and Darkest Day are the current working titles).
So while I'm not a teen anymore, my romance/love affair with my husband makes me feel like a teenager. (We met when I was 14, married when I was 20 and 'x' number of years later, are still together). I now have a 14 year old son who loves my writing, but hey ... he has to because I'm his Mom.
In any case, I really enjoy thinking back to my teen years and trying to use what my son does today to morph what will never change (by virtue of being a teen) with what our current-day society and lives revolve around.
Well, that was long winded. But here I am!

I am an adult - don't hold it against me:)

I'm Lynn. I'm also a "grown-up" (I use the term loosely) with teenage children of my own who writes. I've been published as a pre-school/early grade freelance writer (lots of Barbie, Winnie the Pooh, etc.) but my first love is YA. I'm plugging away at two YA novels (one finished and about to be self-published; couldn't snag an agent(!) and the other about 10,000 words shy of completion. It's so nice to meet a peer (altho I have to admit I love reading what the younger participants have to say about their reading experience. Very educational, if you're writing for their audience). Anyway, nice to have you aboard!!!

Welcome! I'm fairly new to this site, but it's always nice to encounter a fellow author. I've been published in the early grade/preschool market as a freelance writer and am currently taking a stab at YA. Tell me more about your books. Are you self-published or with a traditional publisher? I'm currently working on two books, one of which I'm considering self-publishing this summer (tried like hell to get an agent but couldn't). The second should be completed by the end of June and I'm trying to muster the strength to go the query-in-search-of-an-agent route again, but it's so discouraging at times. Just wondering what you're up to. It's so nice to encounter someone else who's doing the same kind of stuff I'm doing. Anyway, I'd love your thoughts on the whole self pub thing.

Hi Sara, thank you for your reply. Patti :)

My sister read that, she said it was her second favorite, after The Hunger Games.

I like fantasy/romance books and I'm generally a pretty laid back person until my nerves get worked.
I'm excited to be in this group, it shall be fun!

My name's Ashley, and I live in Adelaide, South Australia. When I'm not working as a paramedic I'm a passionate reader and writer of YA fiction.
My novel Facing Demons will be out in September and I am holding an ARC giveaway in June, so be sure to enter!
It's a pleasure to join this group and I look forward to chatting with you all. :)
Ash
