But I'm so worried about the next book because in the teaser blurb it says, "Lena struggles to survive—and wonders if she may be falling in love again." What?! I'm going to be sooooo upset if she is in any way disloyal to the awesomeness that is Alex. Unless something happens to him? Aaaaagghh! I can't take the suspense.

Alli wrote: "@Marissa; you'll hafta share peeta with me because i just adore him. have you read the whole series? (and as you should know, i hate that their making The Hunger Games into a movie. Hate hate hate ..."ya i have read the whole series and i have to say the best part of the whole series is the epilog lol and i am actually excited for the movie i just hope they go with book and dont add anything or take anything out the book is to good to do anything to it
Marissa wrote: "ok so i need another book to read please i need suggestions :)"Based on your lists and ratings, I would recommend a couple different things.
There's a few for ya. I tried to give you different flavors so, whatever your in the mood for, ya know. But, all are great series that I think you'd like:)
Ohmygosh, loved The Maze Runner and the Vampire Academy series is to die for. And I can't wait to read The Iron King and Across the Universe
@bethany thank you i have the iron king on waiting list for the libarey and they seem really good :)
i was kinda in the need of a sappy romance so i just finished Arousing Love and now i know why i dont read sappy romances lol and now i am starting Starfire Angels and i am having a hard time getting though it. should i keep reading it?
Marissa - I just looked back and rated that book a 3. I actually liked it but it took awhile to get into it if I remember correctly. The 2nd book had a lot more action. I've been waiting to see when the next one is coming out.
Marissa wrote: "Amanda- thank you i am going try to get through whats the 2nd book called?"
I rated this book a 3 as well, but I felt it had better action than the 1st one.
Marissa wrote: "i was kinda in the need of a sappy romance so i just finished Arousing Love and now i know why i dont read sappy romances lol and now i am starting Starfire Angels and..."lol...I have both of those on my nook. Haven't read them yet.
Alli wrote: "Ohmygosh, loved The Maze Runner and the Vampire Academy series is to die for. And I can't wait to read The Iron King and Across the Universe"i know!! I'm re-reading VA right now. I'm on book 4...getting my memory refreshed in time for Bloodlines...YAY!!!! Of course, I won't be done by tomorrow, when it comes out, but I seriously have like eight books that I'm trying to finish right now, so...I've gotta get through those first.
Took a while but finally finished
. Liked it but it definitely had me in a more depressed mood than when i finished
. Also finished
which was a good fast paced YA book.Started reading
which is great so far! Also I forgot completely that I had preordered
like 6 months ago. It showed up today so I'll be starting that one too. I need to brush up on what happened in Number Four since it's been a while.
I haven't read in a book in about 3 weeks, which is crazy for me, but right now I'm reading
. Not YA and not PA/Dystopian but the movie trailer got me interested.
Ooo, Andrew, I'm gonna go buy Power of 6 soon. I can't wait to read it. I think it sounds better than the first book. You'll have to let me know how it is.Julie, I checked out the Help from the library. I too had my interest piqued by the movie trailer. I'm gonna start that one soon.
Right now I'm reading
and it is sooooo good. I worried that it wouldn't win me over the same way Percy Jackson did, but I absolutely loved it and I'm bummed that I have to wait years now for the other books :(
just finished
and i actually liked it i am glad i didnt quit reading it but now i am afraid to start the second cause it sounds like there is a stupid love triangle :(
Marissa wrote: "just finished

You should read the next one. It is really good (and I apologize if I forgot about a really annoying love triangle).
I am trying to read
. It is not going well. I think the series should have ended with the last book and she should have left out the stuff that is leading into this book. I keep picking it up and putting it back down. Should I continue or move on to something else?

Marked as tbr today! Thanks Bethany!
Have any of you guys read
series? I just finished the first and it's a lot of fun. Got the second from the library today
I started
last night when I went to bed. I told myself I was going to read 3 chapters then turn out the light and I ended up reading 10!
I've been a little curious about reading Eden, it's been getting a decent amount of attention for a little ebook. But, some of the reviews mention that there is a rather hefty love triangle in it. Not the worst thing, but I am getting a little tired of it being in every dang story line. So, the main character is strong enough to make a difference in their world, but is absolutely unable to decide what's best for their love-life? Needs more adventure in dystopia-land for dudes!I'm going to sneak in a really neat sci-fi fashionpunk dystopian novel I recently read as a suggestion.
Grey Basically a retelling of Romeo and Juliet, but dystopic fashion consumer wasteland of a world was freaking cool! The language was hyper-colourful in the swearing department. The stuff that comes out of the fathers mouth is unreal! So, between the language and some mentioning of graphic sex, but not depicted, it would slide into the adult section. I'm really looking forward to reading the next one in this world, I've already bought it, but I'm reading an ARC of something for an author right now. Still great stuff, I read this right after reading Devil Wears Prada (sucked) so it was a really interesting transition. I actually went through my read list and discovered that I have read a ton of fashion fiction already! Mostly dealing with a sci-fi slant or culture jamming.
I absolutely loved Scott Westerfeld's So Yesterday
Chris - Eden does have a love triangle but I felt that it didn't detract from the dystopian story line. I don't typically care for love triangles but in my personal opinion the love triangle works in this book. It is a very clever story and one of my favorite dystopian books right now.I'm reading
. I'm not far enough into it to tell how much I like it, but I'm intrigued by the blurb.
I agree with Amanda. The love triangle in Eden isn't as bothersome as others. It works with the storyline and the indecisiveness of the MC actually makes sense. I'd definitely recommend it...and I HATE love triangles!I just finished
and it was sooo good! Man, I cannot wait for the next book. Next to read are
and
Bethany, I thought The Help was pretty good! I think you'll like it, I'm going with my sister in law to see it tonight, lol.
I love it so far. It's not what I expected, but it's great. I'm only 55 pages in and I already feel so emotionally invested in the characters and story. And she's a great author. So, I dunno if I'm gonna read Across the Great Barrier after all. I tried to start it and just, meh...I'm just not sure I want to finish the series. Plus, my friend just gave me this one...
, which isn't even out yet, but apparently they're pitching it as 'The Hunger Games meets Romeo and Juliet'. So, obviously I'm curious. I hope it's amazing :)
Sandra "Jeanz" wrote: "Am reading Delirium by Lauren Oliver it reminds me quite a bit of Matched by Ally Condie"Yeah, they do have a lot of similarities. I, personally, liked Delirium more than Matched.
So, all of you need to read
when it comes out!! Yeah...freaking AMAZING!!! You guys'll love it!Finally, I'm getting around to reading this trilogy. I hear good things. It didn't sound that appealing to me, but I'm gonna give 'em a shot.
Sandra "Jeanz" wrote: "Am reading Delirium by Lauren Oliver it reminds me quite a bit of Matched by Ally Condie"ya they are a lot a like but i agree with Bethany Delirium is better in my opinion probably cause there is no love triangle
i know its not dystopian but it was free on my kindle at i was going on withdrawl without anything to read so i started reading
and its pretty good for a sappy romance (wow i would never think that i would say a sappy romance is good lol something must be wrong with me)
Bethany wrote: "So, all of you need to read

so i just read the details of EVE and it sounds almost the same as Delirium i liked that book but will EVE be like just reading Delirium all over again
I started
today, I bought it forever ago and decided I should probably read some of the ones I have before I buy too many more!
Marissa wrote: "Bethany wrote: "So, all of you need to read

I suppose it has similar themes, but it's not the same. It was, for me, way better than Delirium. It has a lot more action. And, the love thing is more like 'men will decieve and rape you', whereas, with Delirium, they say love doesn't really exist. It's less about the idea of 'love' and more about how all men are evil and have ulterior motives.

Finished
. Really like it. The triangle was a bit much at times, but the ending made up for it.Finished
. It was good, but I Am Number Four was definitely better in my opinion. This book seemed like a filler type book. For the most part it was slow throughout, but had a good action packed ending.Moving on to
to start the Elemental Assissin series at the recommendation of my wife. She read all 4 books currently out in 4 days and couldnt put them down. Anyone else read this series?

I just read
. It was very good and entertaining. I'm on to the second book...
. It's nice to find a series with only two books :) Also finished the
series. It was really good. Much better than I was anticipating.

I finished
a few days ago. It is a normal YA book, but I really enjoyed it. It is one of my favorite books this year.Currently, I'm reading
and as soon as I finish that I'm going to read
.
Currently reading
- third book in Courtney Cole's Bloodstone Saga. There is something incredibly compelling in her writing style. I love reading her books! I've paused
which I'm about 20% into so I could read With My Last Breath (I was anxiously awaiting it lol).
