Debating is Fun...

This is going to be interesting.

I would get an abortion depending on the circumstances.

I would probably not get an abortion. But I suppose if I was raped or something, I would. Hmm, but I think that abortion should be a woman's choice, not decided on by the suits in congress or because of religious reasons.

I'm really iffy with abortion. I'm not entirely comfortable with it, but I do believe a woman should be allowed to choose, especially in the early stages before the embryo gains any form of sentience. Still...I'm not totally sold either way.

Abortion...
Here's the thing. I used to say that abortion should only be allowed when a woman gets pregnant due to rape or incest, but I've realized that's not completely fair. Why keep a child from living just because it came from, for lack of a better word, unfortunate circumstances? I think, if anything, adoption would be the best choice in that situation.
I just don't think it's right to deny someone their life just because you're not ready to have a child or you don't want the child. It's unconstitutional, selfish, and illogical. If you don't want a baby, then don't get pregnant. No duh.
If the mother would die without an abortion, I can see why she would choose to have one, but otherwise...

I agree with everything except that it isn't fair when a woman is raped or molested. It isn't fair to the woman to have go through all 9 months if she can't handle it or doesn't want it because she didn't say "Yes" to the sexual act, as she would've had she had sex with someone willingly. That's completely unfair when she had no choice in the matter.
Otherwise, I pretty much agree :)

" Gay rights? I think they're the same as any other person except they made a gigantic sin. " Wut?

Sure, that's true. But I can only imagine getting pregnant from being raped and I know how horrible and terrifying and scarring of an event that is, so those nine months would most likely be hellacious. I don't know what I'd do. I'd pray and fast to know, because I really would be torn. I never want to abort a baby, but when I had no say in the matter and when I'm already haunted by the rape I doubt I'd be able to make the choice without God giving me an answer, you know?

I got confused by that too...

I kind of feel the same way. I don't have much belief in gay marriage, I have to say, because I've heard of many people that were gay for years, but "overcame"--if you'll excuse the poor word choice--those feelings and ended up happily married to someone of the opposite gender.
All the same... I don't love the idea of gay marriage, but I don't think anyone can keep them from going on with their lives the way they want to.
I don't think homosexuals are bad people or anything. One of my really good friends last year was lesbian, I have a few gay friends and one bisexual friend. I still think they should be accepted.

YES! DEBATE! IT'S LIKE DEBATE SEASON NEVER ENDED!
On the topic of abortion, I'm, really iffy. I think I'm pro-choice, because in circumstances like rape and incest, I can't even imagine how much harder that would be to recover from if you had to carry their baby for 9 more months. Or if the mother's health is at risk. Special circumstances like those I guess.
I honestly don't understand why so many states don't allow gay marriage. It's almost like racism, except in a different context. They deserve the same rights as everyone else.

Basically, gay people have commited a sin by being gay. Which is stupid and stupid, but I digress.
On the subject of homosexuality...
I think it's wrong to judge a person because of their sexuality. A quote I heard once went something along the lines of, "Love is love. Why does it matter what genders it combines?" (don't know who it's by), and I think that's the truth. Why should we gudge people for who they fall in love with, so long as it is love? That's some cruelness, because in this world there really isn't enough of it these days.
So... Yeah.

So... Yeah.

Nope. Just one of those close-minded people.

But I really want to debate about gay rights. I am completly for equality in all aspects of life, and this is one of them. I hate that in some countries being gay is illegal. I hate that other people try to force their veiws on others for the sole purpose of making them unhappy.
It sucks.

Sure, that's true. But ..."
Yeah, exactly. It would be really hard, to say the least. I'm not sure what I'd do in that situation....

War:
Depends. War in Iraq was stupid. I do like peace a lot though...
Abortion:
Depends (again). If the woman was raped or something like that, then it's fine. If the child is just going to be thrown to an orphanage, fine. I'm a pro-choice sort of person, I guess. It just depends on the circumstances.
Gay Marriage:
They should be allowed to marry. Period.
Legalizing Marajuana:
Eh. If you're twenty-one (come on California, eighteen?) and it's only a certain amount, you might as well. You should be allowed to make your own decicions by that point. If you should be allowed to impare yourself through alcohol, then you should be able to with marajuana. Also, it helps get rid of drug trafficking by legalizing it.

On the topic of abortion, I am against it in most cases. But I don't think that it should be outlawed completely, for special cases.
For example, if a 14 year old girl was raped. She might be too fragile to carry a baby for 9 months, and may die in the process of birthing the baby. Would that really be worth it, to have her lose her life and possibly her baby lose their life for the sake of trying?
So, I'm against it if the pregnancy is not self induced whre they should know all the risks of carrying a baby.

As of gay rights, of course they should be allowed! What's the difference, between love of a man and a woman or love of people of the same sex? They just don't have the right cells to reproduce together. Why should that make a difference?
I believe that being gay is not a choice that people make though. It may be developed through their life because of environment or they may have been born with something in their brain that thinks that, but I believe that it's completely stupid to think they don't deserve the same rights as us.

Because I'm not attached to any belief and so I'm open to all beliefs. Which I love:)
My views on politics:
I don't really consider myself a democrat or a republican. I guess I'm more of a democrat, because I think the republicans (I'm talking about people in office, not normal citizens) are stupid. But the democrats have also been stupid too. And if Sarah Palin becomes president I will move out of the country. And Michelle Bachman makes me ashamed to live in Minnesota. And Obama is just meh. I like universal Health Care. That's good stuff.

MY VIEWS!
War
I think war begins when communication ends, but it might be necessary when you are fighting for important things, like freedom, and the enemy won't listen.
Abortion
I'm pro-life, however, it's confusing sometimes because (what Maria said): For example, if a 14 year old girl was raped. She might be too fragile to carry a baby for 9 months, and may die in the process of birthing the baby. Would that really be worth it, to have her lose her life and possibly her baby lose their life for the sake of trying?
It's a hard decision.
Gay Marriage
I don't agree with it, but I don't judge them as 'terrible, sinful people'. They are still humans with choices.
Legalizing Marijuana
I don't think they should, not only because it endangers the people who take it, but also it could hurt the others around them, but I'd really have to investigate the subject more.

We have one of those topics already! It's called 'Religion or lack of thereof'
Or some confusing wording like that.

Yeah, i think considering yourself one specific party is bad. We should try to be as bipartisan as possible and work together. I do lean towards the left though, defo.

Religion...well I like to believe that there is something a bit bigger than us. Whether it be a formless creature guiding us, a bunch of invisible particles that make up more than we thought, or a council of select people who pilot giant robots to protect the world. That said, I am TOTALLY cool with all religions. And while it bugs me when they get too extreme or try to convert me all the time, it probably bugs me more when people are all "HERP DURP HOW CAN YOU BE RELIGIOUS YOU ARE AN IDIOT GOD DOESN'T EXIST SO IGNORANT HAWHAW"

I've never met one, but they don't seem to
a) shove their veiws down other peoples throats
b) harbour predjudice against anyone
and
c) I have never heard of any buddhists trying to take over the world:)

I agree almost exactly. The only problem is with legalizing marijuana. I don't think it's right, but it's a double-edged sword. You legalize the drug, then drug traffickers are out of jobs. But then there's the whole downside of more people getting high legally...

Please keep religion to the religion topic. I agree with what Rebekka says and in this topic it may get a little aggressive.

And I enjoy religious debates becuase I'm open to everything, so if someone has a paticular veiw, it can never offend me:)

Same. That's what's wrong with our country right now. It's all about voting with your party, not with what's actually good for the country.
I tend to lean towards the left too.

I agree with the fact that we vote more with our party than with what's good for the country. Although how we define what's "good" for our country varies a lot because of different political mindset.
I lean more towards the right. I'm a libertarian (different than liberal) more than anything.

For a second I thought libertarian said librarian, and I was like, DUDE, I wanna be one! XD
And I also agree with you, but I'll have to research the libertarian thing.
