So then I realized, hey, maybe it was the Chunksters group!
Glad to know that I'm right now!
I would love love love to read this book as a group (or side) read. I already bought my copy, so mark me down for whenever!

I'm working 2 jobs right now, so it might take me a little while to get the schedule up...but I'll get it done.

I have:
Kristina
Kathy
Liza
AM1000 (?)
Andrea (?)
Amy
Xeni
Tasha
Are we all still wanting to read this!!

Thanks for the update, I'll add it to my calendar :)

I'd be happy to moderate.
Let me know.

I am totally in!!!

"One of the most effective novels of terror ever written, this true Gothic mystery novel is considered by many to be the best of the period. It is not only wonderfully written, skillfully plotted, and peopled with interesting characters, it is incredibly frightening."
Now I definitely know if I want to read it or not. *rolls eyes at GR*
Other than being the most classic novel of terror ever, what other perks does Uncle Silas have?

I have no idea about Uncle Silas...but I was totally giggling at your post. :D

Hi Laurie,
The only way I will read this is if others hold me accountable so I am in! I am a bit behind but will begin this week.

My post for Book One, Parts 1 & 2 is here when you're ready: http://whatsheread.blogspot.com/2011/...
I'm enjoying W & P far more than I did Anna Karenina, and muse on why in both the post above and the one forthcoming.
Looking forward to reading what you think, and if you'd rather I cut-n-paste my blogposts so you can respond here rather than there, just let me know...

If no interest, that's cool--I'll just read it on my own. (Especially if it would mean we have too many books running at once.) :)

This book appears to be about 600 pages, so it would probably be broken down in 11-12 weeks. I know the movie comes out in the middle of October, so we'd actually have to start ASAP if we were going to do this.
I'd be cool with reading with just a couple other people if we had any more takers. Again, no pressure. :) I'm sure I'll read it anyway.
