Rossy (naughtybookjunkie) | 2192 comments Finally finished Open Season by Linda Howard! Fantastic book, in my opinion one of her best books. I love when i do not want to smack the hero or heroine.LOL

Mary (wimew) | 250 comments Finished Open Season 11/20 Enjoyed it as much as the first time I read it

message 55: by Renee (new)

Renee | 231 comments Finished Open Season today. I laughed so hard I had to pee! I so enjoy Linda Howard :)

message 56: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 366 comments I finished Open Season and really enjoyed it. I liked the main characters and their interactions. Mr. Perfect is still my favorite, but this one runs it a close second.

message 57: by Ms.soule (new)

Ms.soule (mrssoule) Oooh, I just found these other lists - I thought I had to wait til the last open day of the first challenge to read another book! I'll read Dangerous Highlander.

message 58: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) I just finished Fallen by Lauren Kate.

If you liked Twilight you will like Fallen.

message 59: by Annie (new)

Annie (themadnessofhamsters) Just finished Dangerous Highlander. Interesting - and intriguing enough to read the rest of the series (but, maybe not THIS month)...

message 60: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ | 3901 comments Just finished Dangerous Highlander which was spectacular! Kinda a cross between Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld and J.R. Ward's Brothers. The Highland warriors have evil Gods inside them and when released they turn into colored monsters (some blue, black, purple, red, etc). Of course, there is an evil wizard (female) who is trying to rule the world (or something) and is capturing and murdering druids for power and capturing warriors as minions. Really exciting stuff.

message 61: by Ceej (new)

Ceej (drqangel) | 1015 comments I finished Dangerous Highlander just now and to say the least it was painful. There was not much to draw me into the book and keep me there

message 62: by Valorie (new)

Valorie | 2218 comments I finished Dangerous Highlander and really enjoyed it. I agree with Barbara that it reminded me of the LOTU in a way. I liked it so much that I found a copy of the next book in the series at the used book store today and bought it! Looking forward to Forbidden Highlander!

message 63: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I finished Switch and I didn't really enjoy it. I didn't like the heroine Paige at all and it was very hard to care about her or her journey.

message 64: by Ruby (new)

Ruby Pierce | 5 comments I completed Dangerous Highlander on 12/2.

message 65: by Renee (new)

Renee | 231 comments OK, I know I already read my book choice from this challenge but I also needed a book with a couple 'doing it' on the cover for another challenge so I also read Switch.

I have to say that I was pleasantly suprised at how much it pulled me in and especially towards the end how much I was pulling for Austin.

Thanks for the choice.

Renee, if you liked Switch you can give some of other Megan Hart's books a try, all of the one's I've read got me so involved with the characters. But I have to warn you that some of her books have unconventional endings, so if you really dislike not having a typical happy-ending, you should read some of the reviews to at least have some warning. I read Deeper by her and it was so sad but I still loved it, even though I'm squeamish too.:)

message 67: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments finished up Switch - enjoyed it more than Broken...but I was really rooting for Eric in the end and then she picked Austin...boo! definately wanted to hit her mom a few times as well

message 68: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Finished Open Season this morning, 12-6-10. It's either the fourth or fifth time I've read it and still a 5 star read. I agree with Sandra J. Whenever I think of my favorite Linda Howard, Mr Perfect and then Open Season immediately comes to mind.

message 69: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I finished Killing Time. Loved it. I thought it would be straight romantic suspense but it's also sci-fi.

message 70: by Ms.soule (new)

Ms.soule (mrssoule) I read Dangerous Highlander - I give it 3 stars for an interesting story set-up & side characters I was originally curious to learn more about. The writing isn't particularly gripping and it felt like the author's first attempt at publishing...but it's not which made me less satisfied with it. The conversations felt disjointed, like she wrote them days apart a paragraph at a time. The atmosphere was beautiful however, and the book didn't waste time with too much back story, long memory flashbacks, or a slow start - all of which I appreciate in a romance novel.

message 71: by ~Sara~ (new)

~Sara~ | 667 comments I don't think it makes a difference at this point, Open Season is untouchable, but I read Somewhere I'll Find You. I loved it! This my favourite genre so it's hardly surprising - Lisa Kleypas is always good for sending me to bed happy! :)

message 72: by Angela (last edited Dec 07, 2010 02:51PM) (new)

Angela (angieerickson) | 439 comments This one got away from me. I haven't purchased Fallen yet, and I don't own any others from the list. For these reasons, I'll have to drop out of this challenge.

message 73: by Joyce (last edited Dec 09, 2010 11:42AM) (new)

Joyce (eternity21) | 739 comments I forgot to post my finishing Fallen on 12/5/10 ***1/2
I really liked it but not sure how it will play out. It is a different idea. A little bit long on description and short on paranormal but I think that's so they could set the atmosphere for the series.

message 74: by Raine (new)

Raine | 177 comments I also forgot to post that I have finished Fallen on 12/5/10. I gave it 3*. I thought it was a slow read. Nothing much happened until the end and a lot of loose ends remained. I will have to read Torment as well because this book did not seem to have a real ending in my opinion.

~Sara~ | 667 comments I just got The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest in from the library - as soon as I read the second book I'll read this one. The first book was awesome, so I hope these 2 are as well.

I haven't decided on which book to read for this list, but I might go for this one, and will try to get it in audiobook format.

message 83: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments i really liked it - i got it from audible when I had my stack of spare credits...need to get the next two

That's good to hear. I finally broke down and got myself an mp3 player, so I can listen to audiobooks even when I'm not driving. : )

message 85: by Lili (new)

Lili | 343 comments I'll read Three To Get Deadly by Janet Evanovich

message 86: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments I'm probably going to reread Dream Man also.

message 87: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments Yz - I have been forgetting to check the new lists because I always forget to check the old threads. Can't we have a new thread with the new lists?

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments D.G. wrote: "Yz - I have been forgetting to check the new lists because I always forget to check the old threads. Can't we have a new thread with the new lists?"

We can. I might have to change the thread titles then, since I'm releasing a new list each week.

Let me think a little bit more about it, before I release the new list on Monday.

message 89: by Gigi (new)

Gigi | 1149 comments Count me in for Dream Man

message 90: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Beyers (mandybeyers) | 763 comments I will be listening to The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest and may also re-read The Hound of the Baskervilles.

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll read Switch.

message 92: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments rena - take a look at msg 77, it has the new list of books...based on the results of the first random list

message 93: by [deleted user] (new)

Delicious Dee Challenge Addict wrote: "rena - take a look at msg 77, it has the new list of books...based on the results of the first random list"

Hi, what's msg 77?

message 94: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments if you look, each msg has a number next to it...if you scroll up to msg 77 you will see that Yz posted a new list of books...at the end of each month, she takes the most popular book from the group and then the new recommendations list is based off of that...so msg 77 has the second lot of books

message 95: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) The second list is also in msg. # 1 as well Rena

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

Ahh, right. Thanks

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll read Unlawful Contact.

message 98: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments one other thing Rena - since I think this is your first one...Yz said previously that if there is a book in a series on the list, then other books in the series can be used - so I could use the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo because it was book 1 and book 2 was on the list

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 1190 comments I think I will take The Girl Who Played with Fire..since I have read book 1 which I loved.

message 100: by Joyce (new)

Joyce (eternity21) | 739 comments I think I'll read Breaking Dawn.
