Jessa ♥ EvilDarkSide (metalgirl80) What about the Fever series? That is a must read! Its one of my all-time favorites.

Oh, and if you like Lords of the Underworld then you should really like the Immortals After Dark series. The authors are really good friends. I actually like IAD a little better than LOTU!

Pearl Reads (pearl24) Thanks. I'm going to start looking into these recommendations

message 9: by Mairead (new)

Mairead | 164 comments I'm not sure whether it's YA or not, but I've heard nothing but good things about the Mistborn trilogy. And, of course anything by Richelle Mead is pretty amazing. Succubus Blues and Storm Born are her two adult series' openers.

message 14: by Jesslynn (new)

Jesslynn | 164 comments Christina Dodd's The Chosen Ones are good Chains of Ice (The Chosen Ones, #3) by Christina Dodd . This is the 3rd or 4th book in series.

message 15: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) more UF than PNR, but i'm really loving the Chicagoland Vampires series - Chloe Neill

Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill Friday Night Bites (Chicagoland Vampires, #2) by Chloe Neill Twice Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #3) by Chloe Neill

with book 4 due out next year Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill

message 16: by Serena (new)

Serena | 27 comments Wow! I'm glad you started this discussion because I'm in the same dilemma. There aren't many that you and I have not read (from your list there) so here is my 2 cents lol.

Ilona Andrews - Kate Daniels series; it's UF but still good. Also The edge series; I think this series is more paranormal but I enjoyed this too.

Dara Joy's Matrix of Destiny trilogy also. It's considered futuristic but it has Romance, action & humor. It's actually in my top of favorites.

I 2nd Chicagoland Vampires series & Fever series. They are UF but they are really good as well. I've only read one in Richelle Mead succubus series so I'm not sure about that but her Dark Swan series is really good so far. Both of Nalini Singh series are good, I especially like the Guilder Hunter series. Hope that helps.

Lauren⁷ 💜 (lrc123) | 115 comments I cannot recommend Born of Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon enough. I just finished it today and it is seriously one of the best books I've read all year and seeing as how I've read at least 135 books this year, that's saying something. It's futuristic/sci-fi romance, but it is just flat out amazing and there are two other books currently released in the series with two more on the way. And also Kenyon's Dark/Were/Dream Hunter series, it's currently going on 19 books with #20 due out next year and it's really good. The first book is Fantasy Lover. I also recommend the Argeneau/Rogue Hunter series by Lynsay Sands, it's an excellent series that veers more toward the lighter/humorous side of paranormal romance and i think it's quite good, it's going on 14 books with #15 due out later this month, the first book is A Quick Bite. I also have to recommend the Dragonfire novels by Deborah Cooke, it's a series about Dragonshifters and it's really good, it's currently going on 5 books with #6 due out next year i think, the first book is Kiss of Fire. Also there's the Final Prophacy series by Jessica Andersen which is going on 5 books with #6 due out next year, it's a refreshing change from other paranormal romance and does not feel done to death, the first book is Nightkeepers. And also there's the Masters Of Time series by Brenda Joyce, the series seems to have been wrapped up with the current 5 books, it's a really good series and is a very interesting take on Highlanders and time travel, the first book is Dark Seduction.

Hey some great series that I can across Monère: Children of the Moon series:
Mona Lisa Awakening (Monère Children of the Moon, #1) by Sunny Over The Moon (Monère Children of the Moon, #2) (Mageverse, #7) by Angela Knight Mona Lisa Blossoming (Monère Children of the Moon, #3) by Sunny On the Prowl (Monère Children of the Moon, #4) (Briggs Alpha & Omega Prequel) (World of the Lupi, #3.5) (Dorina Basarab Prequel) by Patricia Briggs Mona Lisa Craving (Monère Children of the Moon, #5) by Sunny Mona Lisa Darkening (Monère Children of the Moon, #6) by Sunny there are 2 anologies throughout also..about 6 books in that series (including anologies) and still going!

Also!! from same author Demon Princess Chronicles series
Lucinda, Darkly (Demon Princess Chronicles, #1) by Sunny Lucinda, Dangerously (Demon Princess Chronicles, #2) by Sunny this series runs off of the Monere series.

I absolutly recommend these as they were AMAZING!! Great world building, and I have to admit it is a little more like erotica, with the adventures!!

On the Prowl (Monère Children of the Moon, #4) (Briggs Alpha & Omega Prequel) (World of the Lupi, #3.5) (Dorina Basarab Prequel) by Patricia Briggs begins the story of Anna and Charles and the first book is Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs

How did you like the Demon Princess series? anything like the Monere's. I was a little uncomfortable bc I didn't realized these were erotica romance, but wow, the storyline was very impressive. Once I got over with all the sex and how sex was used in this series, I was enthralled with the plots. Love it.

message 24: by Sonya (new)

Sonya | 13 comments Ya they are super awesome! It's been awhile since I read them and I actually read Demon Princess before the Monere.
I think I liked Demon Princess more, it is a different view then Monere, as the main character is Hayclon's sister, a ...
Again if you can get past the sex I think you could enjoy this series!! The world building for me was amazing as I could really "see" the story, but let me know what you think if you read them!!

message 25: by Griff (new)

Griff (vgriff) | 4 comments Ummm... I would say read the Fever series, the Study series, and Midnight Breeds.... They all were pretty close for me. Of course not much measures up to BDB!!!

message 26: by Pearl Reads (new)

Pearl Reads (pearl24) I have spent all my spare time researching all these books. And wow I had a hard time choosing the next series to read;so I put all the different series' on small pieces of paper and dumped them in a bowl (then drew one). And winner was The Monere Series. So picked up the first book today. I'm very excited. And just so you know I plan to follow it with its spin the Demon Princess books. And the I already drew for the next series after that will be the Fever series. So once again. Thanks you so much. (And if u all add more books I will add them to my "draw bowl". Lol

message 27: by Crazy4more (new)

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3070 comments Pearl, I like your "draw bowl" option. I'm torn among Psy-Changeling, Immortal After Dark, Georgina Kincaid.

Have you read the Highlander by Moning? It's very good and it captured Fae background that continues to the Fever series.

I hope you'll enjoy the Monere series. Lots of 'senseless sex' but the plots are amazing and captivating. I will pick up the Demon Princess. I LOVE the her brother, the Demon Prince, sighs....

I have never heard of the Monere series. Should I read that before I think about reading the Demon Princess Chronicles. I must read Fever first. I have heard so much about it I must know what all the hype is. I am on my last book of Highlander series.

I have read the Highlander Series and it was great. So im really looking forward to the Fever Series. But for now im totally captivated by the Monere Series. i started last night and Im already half way through. Even though the sex is a lot, it does not take away from the story line. Loving it a lot!

message 31: by Amber (new)

Amber | 83 comments I think you'd like the Kitty the Werewolf series. It has a lot of action and some romance.

Kitty and the Midnight Hour (Kitty Norville, #1) by Carrie Vaughn

Someone else already recommended The Sons of Destiny, which is fantasy, not UF, like most of the series you've read. I highly recommend it, but it may not be the flavor you're looking for. Also, if you're looking for lighter, fun action PNR, try the Aisling Gray series by Katie MacAlister.

The Sword (Sons of Destiny, #1) by Jean Johnson You Slay Me (Aisling Grey Guardian, #1) by Katie MacAlister

message 32: by Amy (new)

Amy Friedentag (amyfriedentag) | 4 comments I'm in the middle of reading the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian... and LOVING it!

Also, the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs is great. It's set in the same world as Mercy Thompson series.

Glad your loving the Monere series! I wish I could go back to reading it for the first time again!

Enjoy!

message 34: by Sonya (new)

Sonya | 13 comments Pansey!

I would suggest reading the Monere series before Demon Princess, as Demon Princess takes after the Monere series, there are a couple references back to the Monere. But I did read the demon princess first and I still enjoyed it thoroughly!!

Pansy & Mariya, the storyline for Monere is so original and very good. Sex was used as a punishment, a dominantory, a responsibility, a reward and of course love & passion. At first I didn't feel the chemistry and emotion, but boy, was I wrong. It took a turn and I was bawling and couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

Pearl, glad you're enjoying the series. I thought I was among the few who loved Monere series. I must admit, I picked it bc of the beautiful covers. Yup, I'm one of those who judge a book by its cover...AND now I have GOODREADS friends & reviews too.

Enjoy.

message 41: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 72 comments These are some of my favorites.

Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews
Cassandra Palmer by Karen Chance
Georgina Kincaid by Richelle Mead
Dark Swan by Richelle Mead
Fever series by Karen Marie Moning
Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill

I also enjoyed the Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep and Sabina Kane by Jaye Wells.

Vampire Academy was good too, even though it leaned a little more toward YA. It was a bit more mature than most YA though.

If you liked all the ones you listed that you read, I think you'll like the author Shelly Laurenston. (She also wrote a series of books, the Dragon Kin series, under the name G.A.Aiken) Her books will make you LOL throughout them. If you choose to read them, read the Magnus Pack series first, then the Pride series, then the Long Island Coven series. (The characters in eache series are introduced and woven into the series before it. It'll help you follow the characters better if you read them in order)Hope enjoy reading them as much as myself!!

I really enjoyed her Hunter Kiss books, I'll have to pick those up. I saw them when I found her other series, but never read what they're about. I think the title sounded kind of old school romance to me and I made a bit of a snap judgment.

Amanda (amanda213) Try Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong. Each book has a different couple or main character in it, but all the characters are in every book. Sometimes the same person will narrate multiple books (like my favorite Elena) This is the first book in the series and there are 11 so far with a bunch of short stories online that are back stories for some of the characters. Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, #1) by Kelley Armstrong
