Okay, one of my two top picks finally got posted on PBS today. It's not the one I super want but it's too close to the 31st for me to be picky. I'll read it as soon as it comes in the mail.
Hi Julie, I am starting The Shack now if you are still willing to read with me that would be great. I do hope I will be able to finish in time. Photojim, you've done a great job this month with the pairings and recommendation criteria. Thank you!
I have to say, i read 1/3 of the book and could not finish it. Gave it two stars for the first part of the book, which was touching and rang true, but then it all went downhill when the hero gets to "The Shack". I found that part pure drivel. Sorry for that to everyone who read the book and liked it, i just couldn't stomach it.I'll try to read one of my other recs (Clockwork Angel), but i'm afraid this month might just be the month i don't finish this challenge. :(
Suzanne,I finally finished Secrets of a Summer Night and I love it. I've decided I will finish this series first before continuing the Hathaways.
I also have The Hunger Games and On the Edge audiobooks in my possession, but I'm not sure if i'll be able to focus and finish it before the month's end.
Thanks for the great recs.
That's a good idea Yz, because some of the Wallflowers are in the Hathaways series. It'll make more sense to you.
I tried reading Wildwood Dancing and just couldn't do it! I still have Wicked Lovely and Halfway to the Grave on my hold list at the library. Hopefully I will get one within the next couple of days, but if not I will still read it when I do get it!

You will love it! I just finished The Sugar Queen on vacation this past week, and I still think The Girl Who Chased the Moon is my favorite of hers!
I can't wait, Megan. I'm reading two books now that are annoying me...well, at least I know I have something good to look forward to. :)
I have finished The Spellman Files. It was funny and very entertaining. Thanks for the rec, Melissa. I had never heard of this book before.I also read The Darkest Nightas part of the FAC this month. It was OK, I thought the last 50 pages were better than the rest of the book and left me vaguely curious about what would happen next.

Hi Tania,
I just finished [book:Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich. And I just loved the book!!!! I gave it four stars. It was a very fun light reading and I was laughing out loud at some parts of the book. I will definitely be looking to read more about Hooker and Alex. Great Suggestion!!! I was hoping I get to start the Kresley Cole series too, but I don't think I will have time for it this month, but I am planning on reading it soon.
Thanks!!

So glad you liked The Spellman Files! I highly recommend the rest of them as well. :)
Good to know about The Darkest Night. I've been meaning to get to reading that this month and had high expectations. Maybe I'll like it better going in with low expectations. ;)
Hi Pam!I am now getting to a second book you recommended to me- Beyond Heaving Bosoms: The Smart Bitches' Guide to Romance Novels- only about 25% in and I really like it- very funny. I was on the waiting list this entire month for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and it finally came in today. I will read it for the Nov. monthly challenge. Thanks again for all the recs!
Hina wrote: "Tania wrote: "Hi Hina, Here's my picks for you - even though we have different star signs I think we have similar tastes in reading, although mine may head a little to the hotter side of the scale ..."I'm glad you liked it - it's the book I instinctively go to when I need a laugh. Although if possible the next one is even funnier (there's a dog and prunes involved - need I say more)
I'll update the list tonight if I can. I have family visiting so it's a bit busy for the next couple. In any event, there are a couple days left to get that book finished. Let's all try for one more big push to see if we can't get a couple more done.

Just finished
and I loved it!
Hi Julie, thanks again for your recommendations, I just finished Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare, which I really loved, gave it five stars and can't wait for the next book to come out. I feel it's even better than her Mortal Instruments series!
Finished Visions of Heat! Thanks Stacie for the incentive to move this up on my TBR list. I really enjoyed it.
Ok..I finished
!!! Thanks Elise for reccommending me this book and thanks for everyone who kept encouraging me to keep reading...it took me quite some time to get through it, but it ended up being pretty good!

FlibBityFLooB,
Thanks for the recommendations. I read One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. It was funny. I really enjoyed it immensely! I found myself laughing loudly on many occasions. Since I grew up in the east coast, I can confirm her description of people and places are right on the money. I'll add this to the series I am reading.
Sue,I read a second pick - The Awakening, enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book. Thanks again!

Annvelwis! Thanks again for the recs. I finished PS, I Love You. I actually listened to the audiobook (only my 2nd audiobook ever). The audiobook was awesome. The narrator was so animated. I would listen to any audiobook narrated by her. Her name was Victoria Smurfit. Anyway, back to the story itself. Its different from the movie which was fine for me. Great rec!
Kerste, I just finished Nightwalker & I loved it! I know you warned me about the lack of romance, but everything else was so good that I barely noticed! I'm definitely adding the rest of this series to my TBR shelf. Thank you so much for the rec!
I just finished Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James (recommended by Lili) and loved it. Another new author and I probably would never have picked it up without Lili's recommendation. I love that about this challenge!

Gave up on the library and picked up Pleasure Unbound
, I loved it I will definately be reading more Larrisa Ione ... Thanks for the great Rec Dee
I will update today. Then again in a few days. In the meantime, there is still a bit of time for everyone to finish! Granted, it may be less than a day, but you still have time.
I just finished Wicked Lovely and loved it! Ready for next month's challenge and already have my book from the library!
Thank you Photojim!I thought that, since it was so late in the month and most everyone completed the challenge, nobody was checking up and updating the lists.
Updated through this morning. 51/69 people completed this challenge. Way to go and well done. I'll give it a couple days to see if anyone else just hasn't had a chance to post yet then I'll see if I can give a final tally or something.
Sorry, did not have a chance to post but I did read the book, "The Mane Event" by Shelly Laurenston for the October Pick It for Me Challenge and well, I have a new author to love! Thanks!
Gotcha. 52/69 breaks the 75% mark for completion. If Meatloaf says two out of three ain't bad, I wonder how he feels about three out of four?
Thanks Rossy. I think all in all this went fairly well. If you ask me to host again, I'll have to come up with another matching idea. Actually I just did. If you don't have a volunteer for December...
Sallie, I'm late getting to your recommendation of The Weight of Silence. The library came through and I've already read the first third, and am just taking a break to let you know I'm totally involved in the story - so thanks for this rec!

This book is very different from what I've read before. I enjoyed the different view of vampires, ghost and supernatural environments. It was a bit slow in parts but it was necessary for the story. Overall a very enjoyable read.
