Chord Overstreet...I do like him, and I used to think he would make a good Peeta. But not anymore.
And Alex Pettyfer...I know what you mean Amelia. He could never pull off a sweet, romantic Peeta. He looks to sly, for loss of a better word.
However, because he is the most famous young actor at the moment: I am Number Four, Beastly, Tormented, and in talks with the casting crew for City of Bones, I do not think he will be cast. Fingers crossed.
Nick Jonas as Gale? *shivers* That wouldn't work at all. And not to mention it would probably NOT fly well with fans of the book (besides us. ^_^)
To George Harrison? Interesting. But yes, I agree. Even if he fit the part, which I don't think he does, you can only be in so many movies around the same time. Otherwise, the character doesn't feel like the character anymore.

Dianna Agron and Alex Pettyfer are the two leads, and when I watch it, all I will be able to see is Quinn from Glee.

They are making a Torment movie? And skiping Fallen? What? Nich Jonas? Barf. I know, I'm excited to see I Am Number Four because I can see her as Sarah, but the whole time I will probably be like, OMG! That's so Quin-ish!
I agree with the Glee and Hilary Duff part. But Leo DiCaprio's so diverse that I can see him as everything. Not so much Glee >.<

Although I absolutely hate the Jonas Brothers (and basically every other teen Disney artist), I have a bit of respect for him. Why? Because he was in Les Miserables on Broadway when he was ten (and other various roles). And then a touring group or something not too long ago. But again...no for Gale.
Yeah, I saw Dakota Fanning as Katniss and Elle Fanning as Prim and I almost gagged. They're too girly for the Hunger Games.
Someone else said Willow Smith. If that happens, I will organize a BOYCOTT of the movie.

Haha, I don't think exactly black, but not white, either. Tan. But, not Mexican. I will be so disappointed if some people are in the movie.. If people like Nick Jonas are in it, I don't how much I love the books, I will NOT see the movie. Even if it is word for word to the book. Not seeing it.

lol, I doubt the powers that be are looking at Nick, or that he's even on their radar. I was just reporting something a girl I know said (that she thought he'd be a good Gale). As dumb as Hollyweird is (seriously, they've got some major penance to do for Alex Daddario in THE LIGHTNING THIEF), I don't think they're *that* dumb

True.........................................I keep forgetting that a lot of the people we've cast aren't going to be in theaters until maybe 2014.
Hopefully we need a Beetee and Wiress. If they mess the movie up like they did with Percy Jackson, Inkheart, etc. we won't have to worry about them.
That's true. It's rumored that Hailee Steinfeld is keeping her fingers crossed for Katniss! THAT would be cool!

I really don't think he's the best choice, but I am yet to find an actor who suits my vision of Peeta.
He isn't. AND he's not an unknown which immediately puts him out of the running for me. :)
Yeah.Hmm....Meryl Streep as Coin? hmm....I pictured Coin a little younger, but That could work....
RDJ could be awesome as Haymitch. I've also heard Lucas Till or Will Moseley for Peeta, but I don't see it. Lucas doesn't fit, and Will is established as Peter Pevensie for me.
Meryl Streep..... the best idea I've heard so far, although there is name tuggin in my mind and I can't quite remember what the name was.And yes, Hailee showed off her acting skillz in True Grit.

If Hailee is too young, she could be to falshback Katniss......well, no she's too old for that now anyway.

Am I the only one who would be happier if they cut the flashbacks out of the film? Very rarely do flashbacks work in movies-and in this one it would definitely slow it down.
The flashbacks are defiantly not needed. The information given in those scenes isnt needed in the movie.
I was actually looking forward to a flashback scene. But if they decidet to cut it I won't be surprised.
My mum saw something on Facebook today that said the movie now has an official release date... May of 2012 (I can't find the article right now, but when I do I'll post it.)
Yeah, I saw that! I think I'd prefer if Katniss and the main characters were unknown, and maybe supporting cast can have some recognizable names. RDJ as Haymitch would be great.
So, they announced the casting director. Debra Zane. When the article mentions that "Zane is a Hollywood veteran whose resume includes “Twilight: Breaking Dawn,” the coming two-part finale to the vampire juggernaut" as if it's a good thing...agh. AGH. Maybe she'll surprise us, but all the "the studio hopes it has the makings of a “Twilight”-size franchise" comments make me think the studio just wants another Twilight. *shudder*(Via Mockingjay.net, via Wall Street Journal)

I love RDJ as well. He could play anyone.
He could play Katniss and still do a great job...actually, no. But Brad Pitt defiantly could.

What about John Travolta as Katniss? We know he can play girls, hehehehehehheehe.I like Hugh Laurie better than RDJ for Haymitch, but they would both nail the part.
I'm really holding onto Hailee Steinfeld, because Katniss is supposed to be a small girl, and it'd draw some crowd seeing True Grit's success.
