*scratches head* I don't think 4 movies would necessarily be good for this franchise....Maybe if we got some back-story on the different characters.....

Four movies? That's what I call trying to get more out of it than they should. Plus that means they're probably not going to be very accurate.
Yeah, they're trying to make it HP-standard and are going to make it flop big time. they're just attempting to add an extra movie like HP (which works and no one is complaining about) and Twilight (which really doesn't need it).
And where do you think Twilight got the idea?
Oh I know that. :) People are ridiculous. They're just thinking about how much money they're going to make, not what's best for the movies themselves.
Really. I've always wondered why fans can't be on the set. At least get the author to write the screen-play.
Yeah, that's a plus. And for THG, the author is writing the screenplay.
That's what worries me. My opinion of Suzanne Collins has gone down throughout this process.
Lionsgate has apparently confirmed the four movies. I still don't see how they expect to split any of the books...
Mockingjay does have a lot to cover. I can see that split.

I don't like how everyone seems to find it necessary to split movies these days. Harry Potter made a lot of sense. I sort of see it with Mockingjay. Breaking Dawn, however... Uh, NO.

*mopes with Jordan* Why?Okay, I don't know why, but it might have something to do with the castings and all but when I was rereading THG just now (finished it today), I found myself rooting for katniss/peeta instead of my Team Gale that I'd been supporting from when I read the books the first time around. I think sincerely that it's because I was putting Jennifer, Josh, and Liam in the roles- and since I'm against Liam for Gale (not right for the role!!!!!), I seemed to be leaning towards Peeta. Hmmmm......
I did the same thing! (I was bored). I think my preference had more to do with the events of Mockingjay than the casting, though.
No, I was more mad at Suzanne for basically shoving Gale off in a corner so that Peeta and katniss ended up together.But then, she was really trying hard to make us NOT like Gale in Mockingjay, which also happened to make me mad.....

That just made me way less excited for the movie, and my excitement levels have been waning for a while. I'm not sure the way to attract new fans is to alienate the already existing ones...
I hope Suzzanne Collins sees this forum or Gary Ross or someone, because they could take a lesson or two from here. Anyway, I really was hoping they'd tone the romance down in the movies. Sad to see. I'm really thinking about not going to see the movie.
Seriously. And it's not like we're always bashing. We're insightful at times and if people want to post an opinion, they are free too, regardless of whether most of us agree with them.UGH! There's too much focus on love triangles and romance in this day and age. Yes, they are a selling point, but is it really the best way to interpret the book?
Wow. Now I can actually comment on this group because I've finally read it. YAY!Why would they do that? One of the things I loved about The Hunger Games was that the love triangle wasn't really "There in your face"
I don't know if it was just my slowness or if it was supposed to be this way, but the triangle barely registered in my brain til the third book really. I mean, there was always Gale and Peeta but it was never a big issue.
I liked that.

Yeah, it's not just you. Suzanne didn't really make it a "big" issue until Mockingjay.

Willow Shields, the actor for Prim, looks exactly like I imagined her. Yay!

Guitar Chick pretty much has it right. lolI just saw Jennifer Lawrence (to play Katniss) in the new X-Men movie. I was impressed, actually, and think that she deserves the role. She isn't a bad actress at all.
I think Jennifer is incredible. One of the best I've seen in a long time.

I rocketed off the ceiling when they announced that. I love Danny Elfman, he's fantastic. I think he'll do a wonderful job.
