Jia | 170 comments That was my mindless rant on whatever was on my mind. Now that read it over, I have no idea why I said that.

message 802: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I understand that. Everyone has times like that.

message 803: by Jia (new)

Jia | 170 comments Yeah, I just had a tracker-jacker moment.

Best. Description. Ever.

message 805: by Jia (new)

Jia | 170 comments Umm, thanks I guess. So anyway, I heard they apparently casted a guy named Wes Bently as Seneca Crane.

Yep! I just saw that on Mockingjay.net

message 807: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments I have an even NEWER update on Haymitch!

Here you go, Hunger Games fans.

What do you think?

message 808: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 2426 comments Just saw the news about Seneca. I'm wondering if he'll get more screen time than he did in the book. (I'm also slightly annoyed that the one day I don't check my computer until...10:41 at night, they announce a new cast person.) Not sure what I think about the Haymitch situation. Maybe. He could work, I suppose.

message 809: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments I am trying my hardest to have no opinion on the casting til I've seen the film, since I haven't seen most of these actors in anything, ever.

NOOOO
I dont like Woody Harrelson! I want John C. Riely. He would have totally nailed the part :(

message 811: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Waiting on 2 and 10....

http://thehoborg.blogspot.com/2011/05...

I have to say, I imagined Foxface looking slightly more like Annie Thurman (D9 girl) then Jaqueline Emerson- but that's without all the makeup and stuff that'll go to make Jackie look like we expect her to.

message 812: by Jia (new)

Jia | 170 comments I don't really like Woody, he looks like a wrestler or Jesse James. (Sandy Bullock's ex) Not what I imagined.

message 813: by kathrine (new)

kathrine (scarlettshea) | 391 comments Does anyone read the last page of a book before you start it? I do!!!

message 814: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments ...That'd be a no for me. I read the last paragraph if it starts getting slow, but I never read the last page first- it would ruin the book for me.

message 815: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
I never ever do that. But can we please stay on topic?

message 816: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) I don't about Haymitch....................
*slumps in chair* They're probably never going to be able to appease me....

Joel Edgerton's name in the mix, for an unknown role (like Tucci & those other two a week ago?)...hmmm. I can sort of see him as Cinna. The makeup department can make him look the part, and he could cover it acting wise, certainly. I'll wait for more news, but I wouldn't complain to see him as Cinna.

message 818: by Jia (new)

Jia | 170 comments I could see him more Abernathy than Cinna. :/

message 819: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
I've changed my mind...I think he is to old for Cinna. But if he slimmed down, and the right make up was applied...
I dunno, there are still better options out there. Somewhere. As long as it's not Stanley Tucci.

message 820: by kathrine (last edited May 08, 2011 07:12AM) (new)

kathrine (scarlettshea) | 391 comments I think Micheal Urie would be a good Cinna....

message 821: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) That could be fun....
(Love your profile picture Scarlett, I had to watch the wedding in a hotel room two days afterward becuase I was in the area affected by storms. It was beautiful)

message 823: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 2426 comments We have Caeser Flickerman! Stanley Tucci has been cast, as of today (via the HG Facebook page)

message 824: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I was just about to post that, Jordan. :) Onnly I saw it on mockingjay.net's facebook page. :)

ooooh! A big name for a small role?
Does this mean he'll get more screen time?

message 826: by Jordan (last edited May 10, 2011 11:08AM) (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 2426 comments D10!

It miiiight.

message 827: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Cato and Clove of 2, You're up next! And then we've got Haymitch and Cinna to worry about.

and it probably does, they wouldn't give a big name like Stanley Tucci a tiny amount of screen time. it'll probably flick back and forth between the Games and Districts/Capitol

message 828: by kathrine (new)

kathrine (scarlettshea) | 391 comments All that's left is D2???

message 829: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Of the Tributes, that is. :)

message 831: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Woody Harrelson is cast as Haymitch!
I don't know if I'm cool with that yet, 'cause he's won both Razzies and Oscars and has been in some cool/good movies. But I don't know....

message 832: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
:( Hes not Robert Downey Junior! Not please. I would have also preferred John C. Rielly...oh well.

message 833: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 2426 comments Aaah, it happened again. I leave all day (California to Oregon, woot) and they announce something huge...

I'm looking forward to/dreading Cinna. He's my favorite. (view spoiler)

message 834: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
I know! (view spoiler) :/
Anyway, if anyone else wants to rant on the matter, we can do so in the "hunger games" book thread

message 835: by Rebekah Faith (last edited May 11, 2011 01:33PM) (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Pssst! Hey guys! We have our D2's now!

It's Alexander Ludwig (not unknown, but not super famous) and Isabelle Fuhrman. I've not looked anything up on her to see what all she's done in the past (like stunt-work, if anything) but I'll do that now. :)

Kinda disappointed with our Haymitch, but I can't truly judge since I haven't seen anything he's been in.

message 836: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments EDIT: Here's Isabelle's imdb page- http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2265157/

kathrine (scarlettshea) | 391 comments I don't really like who they chose for Haymitch either!

Oh, I like Clove...but not Cato. Definitely not how I pictured him...not scary enough.

CINNA NEXT CINNA NEXT!!!

message 839: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I dunno, I've seen some of Alexander's stuff (Race to Witch Mountain and The Seeker: The Dark is Rising) and he's pretty good. I can really picture him as Cato.

message 840: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) So, I slipped in conversation that Woody was Haymitch to my mom and she kind of had a minor spazz. She went to college with him and was freaking out about how perfect he was.
The best part?
He hit on her the first day of class.

Jia | 170 comments I heard they were considering... LENNY KRAVITZ for my precious Cinna.

message 843: by ★ Jess (new)

Lenny Kravitz for Cinna?
Just no.

message 844: by Taylor (new)

That... is just not right.

The articles say they are considering him, but the studio hasn't released the role.
It might be Cinna, but I personally think its for either Flavius or Darius.
Id love to see Lenny as Flavius :D

message 846: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Flavius... Still makes me laugh. Have you read Julius Caesar?

message 847: by Jia (new)

Jia | 170 comments Yes. I was reading it and I was like "Brutus? Cato? Portia? Caesar? Flavius? All THG names! Hahaha!" I got weird stares from my friends.

message 848: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments I read Caesar first. So I'm going through The Hunger Games going, "Caesar. Caesar. Caesar. Really? Can we borrow from some OTHER Shakespeare for a sec?"

Taylor wrote: "Flavius... Still makes me laugh. Have you read Julius Caesar?"

I haven't read any Shakespere yet. I think we study Romeo & Juliet at the end of the year

message 850: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Having read Caesar before I read The Hunger Games... The characters totally don't match up. Cinna is both a conspirator and a poet... Portia kills herself by swallowing hot coals... Flavius is just odd...
