My mom hasn't read it, but I've ranted about the casting and she says it seems like weird casting to her.
Ever After! That's possibly my favorite movie of all time. He was also in City of Ember (ehh, movie could have been so much better), Finding Neverland (which I still haven't seen) and is going to be in Tintin and Captain America.

It can't be as bad as Robert Pattinson, who couldn't even tell the interviewer why the movie he was starring in was called Water for Elephants, let alone read the book.
EDIT: I read your post wrong, Rae. I thought you said the actors hadn't read the books.
That's pretty bad. I know that most actors generally read the book their movie is based on....

They're currently filming in Shelby, North Carolina, last I checked. Couldn't be farther from me. *sigh*

Actually, I kind of like Lenny. He's a pretty cool dude and we don't know all that much about Cinna, although I did picture him, well, er, white.They pulled a Grover on us I guess :) I think he'll be good though.

Flavius and Venia have been cast! They look so normal, but I can't wait to see how they look with costumes/makeup/CGI.

Once all the casting is out of the way (I think the majority of it is), I'll be avoiding pictures and such, since I don't want to start hating sets and costumes before the movie's even out.

[Interviewer]: You had read the books before you signed on, right?
Lawrence: Yeah, and I was very skeptical about them being made into a movie, as everybody said. When you’re a big fan of the books, you’re always worried about them becoming a movie because it’s usually a disappointment.
But I met with Gary Ross, the director, and I loved every word that came out of his mouth. And I knew that he was the only one who could do it. And then finding out that Suzanne Collins was also writing the screenplay — everything was just so comforting. And I was just so excited about all of it.
[Interviewer]: You can relate to the fans.
Lawrence: I’m one of them.
I like her.
I think she has an excellent grasp on Katniss, the movie process, and the books. Every day she is Katniss the more I like her.

I knew he was in Pride and Prejudice. But looking at his IMDb page, I've seen him in a couple other things even though I didn't realize it was him at the time... Fool's Gold and The Italian Job.This is the most enthusiastic I've been about any of the casting... I've been kind of apathetic about the rest of them.

President Snow is perfect!!! Bu I did picture him a little different. The Hunger Games would be cool in 3D, but I think it should just be regular.
3D wouldn't make much sense for THG. Maybe the trackerjacker scene or whatever, but 3D really isn't needed to make this a great movie (but we all know that it will most likely be in 3D)

If they finish out the series and make Catching Fire and Mockingjay, I'll be even more excited to see Sutherland as Snow, since his role gets creepier as the series continues.
AND his role increases in size.

Lionsgate executives told Wall Street analysts this morning to expect big things from The Hunger Games, a series of four action films that the studio will release from the trilogy written by Suzanne Collins.
Thoughts? As much as I hate to say it, caaash cow! But Jessica, it means we'll get a Finnick!
(Also, I always pictured Finnick blond. *shrugs*)

I agree. I think MAYBE, he'll look good to those who havent read the books. BUt its just he in no way resembles Cinna.
