Vicki Tyley (vickityley) | 1732 comments Wow, Bette, that was a mammoth day! Especially compared to mine today: Picnicking and reading in the sun in the Toolangi State Forest. It was such a gorgeous day, we'd have been silly not to have taken advantage. :)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) A late hello to the Early Birds!

ugh! Something is eating away at my internet data usage at an incredible speed; 2gb in one hour session while on Goodreads.

So, if I disappear or don't comment, it's because I am waiting till 8am to purchase more data. Today or tomorrow, I'm taking my laptop to computer tech to get him to work out the problem.

Elaine | 2001 comments I'm very excited today. Work colleague won tickets to the premiere of the first episode of The Outlander series here in Melbourne. For those of you that might not be fans of the books that's Diana Gabaldon's series. As she was unable to attend she kindly gave me her tickets. So I'm off to Hoyts tonight for a treat. :)

I will Carolyn. I am looking forward to watching the series on Foxtel, although I'm not a huge fan of the actor playing Jamie. I really would have loved to have seen Gerard Butler in the role but I understand he's probably too old now. Who knows this young guy may surprise me. I don't even know his name!!! Isn't it awful? :)

Zoey (rozannen) | 1045 comments Congratulations Elaine & enjoy. I have seen lots of people in the Outlander FB groups excited about going to the premiere screenings in Bris, Syd & Melb. I think it will be a great night.
I am waiting (not so) patiently for the 14th to watch it on Foxtel :)
and don't worry about Sam Heughan (that's his name lol) not being Gerard Butler, I have seen a few clips & I think he is going to do a pretty good job.
Cant wait to hear what you think

Thanks Zoey. I think it will be awesome. I'm really excited to see how it all looks on film and to finally get the right pronunciation of all those Scottish names and words!!! I'll try and keep an open mind about Sam. Depends on how good his Scottish accent is. He's just such a boy but then again I guess Jamie was quite young when he and Claire first meet. :)

I like that Zoey. I will. I'm warming up to Sam in the role of Jamie. I'm not supposed to say anything about the premiere last night. There was a disclaimer we had to agree to that we were not allowed to review or post anything about the show on any social media. I think though I can say that it was a great night and I can't wait for the 14th August. Is that considered a review? I hope not. I would hate to do the wrong thing.

It was Leonie! I can't get the vision of his face out of my mind! In the instant after he kicked the goal he looked our way - the huge grin with the surprise added in "did I really kick that?" showed on his face; a perfect camera shot (if I'd had one!)

I used to love watching my boys play soccer at that age. All the kids are so cute and get such a thrill when they score a goal or the coach praises them.
