Morning, Julie. No he dumped some of the sand on my hubby's bed. It can be a major task getting him up on the days he goes to work. No biggie for me, I'm up well before his 5.30 alarm goes off. I just have to make sure he has actually heard it (hear the evil cackle...?)

Back from my walk too with the Sunday paper. It is nice out there. Chilly but with the promise of a good day.

message 12957: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 9871 comments It's a gorgeous day out there today, hubby's gone off for an early morning cycle but I'm reluctantly skipping my walk today. I was rushing to a dentist's appointment on Thursday when I had a bit of a stumble and seem to have sprained the muscles on one side of my chest. So I'm sitting up in bed (lying down is agony) reading Big Little Lies with a cup of tea. Could be worse ways to spend a Sunday morning :)

It could be worse for sure, but hope your sprain stops hurting soon. I have had to go to the supermarket early this morning as I had run out of bread and coffee - slack housekeeping! Feel better now that I have my first cup underway. Then on to help son with Latin poem he is learning by heart ...

Just back from my walk out to Austinmer Beach. Beautiful blue skies but still cool, so I go out looking the height of fashion in beanie and fingerless gloves (after all, I HAVE to be able to turn the pages of my book!!) After a coffee, out to visit my elderly mum and give her lunch, do a few chores etc for her. Plus I have 2 books for her: The House Across the Road that I picked up last Tues for 67c and Balancing Act that I borrowed from the library for her.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) Hello to the Early Birds:)

A very industrious day for me yesterday. A big shop at the supermarket, vacuumed the whole house & mopped all floors, took Moses round to my sister's for him to play with Buffy (staffy). I talked my sister into going to Bunnings, bought 90kg of organic sugarcane mulch, dropped my sister back home and picked up Moses. Managed to get 30kg of mulch spread before the wind picked up; Moses did not help me like he normally does when I garden because that would have been chaotic. Then I bathed Moses, dried him and he and I sat and had coffee. I felt quite pleased with myself by evening but my back is aching this morning.

Am thinking one of ours is most definitely due a bath next weekend. He's getting older now, and it seems that as he ages, he requires more baths. He won't be unhappy. He likes the local dog wash station with its nice warm water and blow dryer. Unlike our other dog who believes that it will most likely kill him.

ANNOUNCEMENT

We would like to announce to all that Michael (Frankenstein) will be stepping down as moderator from Aussie Readers. He has taken on Uni as well as works full time, and finds he doesn't have the time to devote that he would like to. (He moderates another group, plus runs his blog as well!)

He will remain a member of the group though, which is great. On behalf of my fellow moderators, I would like to thank Michael for his work with us and the group over the past couple of years.

He is currently in the US on holidays with family, and having a wonderful time by all accounts! Visiting as many bookshops as he can;) I for one am very envious!

No I just meant so many of the members here read and review so frequently, that in 'community reviews' often members from her are the first ones listed. You included Dale! I look at so many books through friends updates and I recognise all the profile pics/names from Aussie Readers. What I don't know is how they decide whose reviews go first in the list.. I can't even remember now the book that I noticed this just today.
