Wow sounds like a big job! Thankfully it was caught before bad damage happened (like your ceiling fell in!)

I live in an old house where we once had an undetected leak in the shower which meant that the timbers in the wall were always wet. In turn this meant our wall became a delicacy for termites. Our little shower leak became thousand of dollars of repair:)

Suz | 4439 comments I've realised that I'm lucky that I have a hands on partner, we had a water leak in our second bathroom that he built (!!) so with tradesmen friends and doing the work himself it was a relatively easy fix, though sat undone 18 months....

My book related banter is that I fiddled around all afternoon with my bookshelf, adding books to GR, maybe I should start reading so I can get through them ;) or in fact, doing things that should be done around here!!

I just found out the film of The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared is opening in August. Think I might go though I cannot imagine whether it will be good as a film or not.

OK, that does look funny! Except it felt like they tried to cram too much in and all the clips were cut too short and I could hardly get the gist of what was happening - and that was having read the book! I hope the movie is a bit slower :-) But I think I might go... Thanks for that, Michael.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) Hi there, EBs!

I haven't been able to read for the last week and have been watching the BBC crime series Silent Witness. But it's started to scare the pants off me and given me nightmares so it will be back to the books today.

So sad for such a young family. Hannah Richell ' s words brought tears to my eyes. Sad new about Liam Davison and his wife as well, and all those people senselessly killed on MH17. So many lives cut short.

Why do they have to change things unnecessarily??! Why do they have to change her children from 3 to 2 and why is she already divorced instead of still married but fighting and almost divorced? I know there isn't as much time in movies as books so some things have to go, but I can't see how changing the number of her children or her marriage status could really make a movie shorter... Sorry - I know I'm a purist when it comes to movies and books!!
