No netball for me, however, my daughter just found out she passed the auditions she went for a couple of months ago and we are off to practice. She will be dancing for cancer to raise money and awareness. Non paid job but great exposure for the budding professional dancer she wishes to be. Also a very great cause. Her great aunty passed away yesterday aged 94, one of the things she told my daughter before she passed was don't let people tell you, you cant dance for a living. Today is for great aunt!

If you're interested in written, video or photographic submissions you might want to have a look. https://open.abc.net.au
It was presented by Anthony Scully, and took the participants through the process of writing a 500 word factual story about an event in their lives, that fitted a particular theme.
It was really fascinating, and lots of fun. There were some really clever people there, with amazing stories to tell.
For anyone who is a librarian or is studying to be one.... this could be of interest if you're looking for a position: http://libraryjobs.com.au/job/487

Sorry to hear about your great aunt, Faye, but congrats to your daughter on her dance opportunity. Hope it leads to great things for her.

Doesn't that sound like a delightful job! Sometimes I wish I had stayed in the field of Librarianship.

Thanks Marina, she had a wonderful day, she said she learnt lots just being there today. Hope netball went well. I think it is wonderful having your children in sports or dance etc. It is tiring I know running them around, however, my two have always been so busy they don't have time to get up to no good. Confidence building too.

Great article Veronica. Thanks.

Happy hump day! :)"
Rainy here, so not so chilly, but there's a washing line full of wet clothes out there just getting wetter....

Bette, we're on rainwater here, so a rain rinse is no problem -- the rain minus the frog poo is cleaner than the tank water. :)

When public transport to the footy is free!? Madness!!
Speaking of, got AVCon this friday/satdee/sundee but the footy on Sunday too!! Hardest decision of my life :(

Here's to a great (reading) weekend for all.

Good morning, ladies. I have a few k's to walk before I go off to work today. At least it's not raining. Is very windy though, again!

Agree, Vicki. Having read the article, I wouldn't touch the Mills book with a barge pole.

Thanks for your help, Liam :)
Finding it hard to believe the awful news this morning about the plane shot down. Those poor poor people.

So, so sad and very tragic.

Yes I'm always up early as I have to take Gypsy for her walk. And it was freezing this morning. Brrrr

Imagine - a hand written poem by a poet, a diamond ring even a baby tooth!

Such an awful accident or attack if it's true that it was shot down. Doesn't look like any chance of survivors. Not good for Malaysia Airlines either to lose another plane.

Morning Sharon,
What a coincidence, you are the first person I have heard with a pet named Gypsy – we had a kitten that our daughter rescued from a bag in the river, and she named the kitten Gypsy. The kitten grew up and lived with us for 22 or 23 years. In the end we had to have her put down, (in 2008) because it would have been cruel to allow her to suffer any further – a sad day for the family. Your comment about your Gypsy brought our Gypsy to mind :-o)

Have to say our dog knows better than to even think she will get a walk if it is raining.Lol

Puts a different slant on it for sure.

Eek! Guess I won't be joining you too often, then!
And, Vicki -- yes, very f-f-freezing this morning! Hopefully things will warm up a little later. I want to get some writing done but my fingers are too cold to work properly yet!
