Terribly sad as we learn of the sudden and devastating loss of Matt Richell, husband of author Hannah Richell and CEO of Hachette Australia.
From Hachette -
Matt was such an outstanding person in so many ways. He was only just hitting his stride as our CEO and his passion, drive and vision for Hachette was so infectious and exciting to be around. He encouraged all of us here to be creative, thoughtful and ambitious on behalf of our authors. There was no greater supporter of authors and their work than Matt. He was so pleased with and proud of everything that Hachette Australia and Hachette New Zealand are accomplishing and all of us here liked and respected him enormously. He was a friend and a mentor to everyone.
He loved this industry and everything it represents. The Australian, New Zealand and indeed the global publishing industry has lost a shining light and a true champion. We are grieving but have been deeply moved by the outpouring of support, admiration and love for Matt from all his colleagues and friends – he will be truly missed.
Our thoughts are with Matt’s family at this time.

That's so sad Brenda. Poor guy, what a horrible, freak accident.
Not sure if it is Goodreads having hiccups tonight or if it is my computer. I can't connect to some threads at all. Think I will give up and go read my book :)

It's a bit better this morning but still not quite right. Right now if you go to a book page the reviews are not loading.

Sounds like a luxury it'll take you awhile to get used to! Enjoy!!

I LOVE hot showers/baths - you have my deepest sympathy, and wishes for absolutely fabulously wonderful showers from now on :)

Liam you need to celebrate by splashing out on a big bottle of bubbly-bath with a lovely scent! Light some candles and indulge yourself...maybe "listen" to a good book while you wallow in all of its loveliness!! Pure ecstasy !;D

Lol, I might have got a bit caught up in my own bath time fantasies there Brenda! ... And If any unbidden spontaneous mental images should occur, think classic silver screen movie stars! :P

"Oooooh and Sophia Loren!" It started in Naples ;)

Hello from Kiwi land Sally!
I Totally agree Sally and it's a wonderful way to enjoy audio books...no soggy pages!
Btw, Rosemary oil is also excellent.

Haha...broiled more like. It is commonly used for meditation and helps with relaxation.

Sounds very positive Sally:) That's probably better than drinking so much you can't remember the flight;)

That's my mum's strategy.

LOL! I do have a couple of glasses while I am waiting. But only to settle the butterflies and warm the soul. I am too much of a control freak to drink my self to oblivion. As tempting as it sounds sometimes :)

LOL!! And I do, but now is time for using up calories on the treadmill so I can ingest more......

Good for you! I had to get off the computer and start walking because my mouse hand was getting cold. Taking me a while to warm up on there.....
I had the pleasure of catching up with (and meeting for the first time) Suzanne from our group:) I met her gorgeous little boy and we chatted over coffee for awhile....I love meeting our members:)
Hope you've had a safe trip home Suzanne:)

I just got back from Canberra. It was SO much colder there than Sydney! I feel positively summery now :)

Went there with my sister on Weds to visit another sister. We went for a walk in the Botanic Gardens, it was 2.6C !!! I'd been offered a beanie to wear (had on tights under my jeans, a spencer, cashmere jumper, leather jacket & gloves) and while we were out there I thought, gee my nose is cold, a beanie wouldn't have helped with that!! Would have needed a balaclava.
