Chat about whatever you like: the weather, good stuff, bad stuff, family or pets!

And also Israel invading the Gaza Strip. Again.
Feels a lot like World War III today.

Gypsy was supposed to be our daughter's cat, but as normal a week after it arrived it became my wife's :-o)
but after Gypsy died we decided not to have any more pets because we travel a lot and didn't think it was fair on any pet to be shunted to friends or cattery etc, so the answer is no :-o)
Daughter is married with three children and they are now talking of getting a dog . . .I've told them not to look to us for pet sitting :-o)

We had a wonderful day today for our daughter's 30th birthday. A restaurant overlooking the ocean, a table by the window, frolicking whales who were breaching, a beautiful view and great company! The service was amazing; it's the little things that count...I have put a couple of photos in the favourite photo thread if anyone is interested:)

Very wise in not getting any more pets if you travel a lot, Geoff :)

Looks like a beautiful place you took your daughter for her 30th, Brenda. And yes it is the little things that count and make it very special :)

Looks like you had a wonderful day Brenda! What a lovely spot and great weather too for winter.

It was my sons 29th birthday yesterday.
I hope you all had a lovely day Veronica:) Or will you continue the celebrations tomorrow as we are?

We will be having lunch and cake tomorrow. It's very hard to get the family together now. No 1 son ,the birthday boy, can only come Saturday. No 2 son has to work Saturday. No 3 son is coming Sunday.

Oh dear! I agree, it's sometimes difficult, but we are managing it for a couple of hours tomorrow:)

Lovely family! What a nice place to have lunch, I'm so glad you had a great family afternoon.
No one chatting today!
I just found out I can put my Audible.com account on hold for 90 days while I catch up. Phew! My credits were clicking up faster than I could use them :)

That's good news Phrynne! I've had my grandson all day..we just watched The Croods! I'll get online once I take him home after dinner :)

Have ugg boots, cat, recliner and laptop.

Sounds lovely Kathryn!

I used to love Blake's 7! It would be really interesting to see how it's held up after 35 years!

The spaceship and computer special effects are very unrealistic by today's standards, but the story has held up well so far. Have only got through a couple of episodes so far, but plan to work my way through whatever I can find.

I saw that a few years ago in Sydney Ashleigh, and agree it's sensational!

Bummer Liam, do you have roadside assistance?

One of those nice hot showers will cure all :)

Sounds like a fun day Kathryn. I love waterfalls.

We used to sit and watch that regularly. Only recently watched the DVDs again. Yes see how special effects etc have changed but the characters were good. My only problem was with the end. A bit of a cop out. Thought it was like the creator didn't know how else to end it.

Yes it's exactly that, fun going through them all. I just looked at that book, it looks great, congratulations on winning it, that must be a thrill too. I don't enter many so my chances are very slim.

Ooh how exciting that will be like you have just been shopping in a bookstore!

We are in Queenstown now and to my great joy it snowed! Not in Queenstown itself but in the hills and mountains around. We had to drive about 15 mins to find a nice patch of grass for me to play :)
We're heading further south on Wednesday and a cruise on doubtful sound on Thursday. We are flying home at the end of next week - only seems like yesterday we left!
Anyhow will be back on deck in just under a fortnight.

Hi Geoff,
Aww your story about your kitten brought tears to my eyes :( What a very lucky little kitten, Gypsy was to have been saved by your daughter. How someone could do that in the first place is beyond me. And what a great age Gypsy lived to as well.
It's the hardest day in a pet owners life when that day comes and I dread the day I have to do it, but it's harder to watch them suffer. My Gypsy is 13, but acts like a 3 year old :) Did you get another cat, Geoff?
