Signed.

Time with the family in the real world is always an excellent reason to unplug.

Well, if it's any consolation, it's better you're having them now than a year down the track. Or worse, three years...

My thoughts are with you and your family as well, Vicki, and with anyone struggling with mental illness and with anyone who knows, loves or cares for someone with a mental illness. "
Thank you, all. I think suicide has touched most people’s lives indirectly if not directly.

Whoo-hoo, another quilter. Are you hand or machine sewing?
I will be posting a photo of my latest quilt on AR sooon. Before I found GR, I could make probably 7 quilts a year - last year after GR, 4 quilts:<

Jess, the course-load is always a bit daunting to start with but I'm sure you'll settle in. Stick with it girl, you got such good results last year, I'm sure you will do well:)

Without a doubt Vicki and I loved having my daughter and her two kids here. Any time with family is always special and never long enough.

You'll be fine; 9 years ago, I'd never touched a machine in my life but someone fantastic helped me with my first quilt and I was away:)

Congratulations and good luck Margaret! You're very brave learning in Sydney;)

So far, I've been in quiet areas. :) We are taking it very carefully. I'm not good at steering yet.

v. To indulge in a excess of reading, especially the books of a particular author or series.

Margaret, I think the key is to relax. When you're tense, your muscles tense and steering will never come easily; relax arm and hand muscles, look ahead at the road not down at the road in front of your car bonnet. See, you can do it:)

Might be my next username: Bette binge-reader:)

Good morning, Bette. So quiet at this time of the morning, isn't it? :)

Oh yes, quiet on AR and quiet outside:)

OMG She can't be serious! Why do people do that? Use a tragedy to bolster their own agenda. I'm not surprised you're steaming.

I'm still steaming. She did same with the Terry Biviano case; used it to post her religious ideas. I could slap her, quite honestly.

True, two of my sisters have blocked her because she posts anti-abortion rants on their pages. It's about to happen with me after she replies to my comments on Facebook today. You know, I'm a vegetarian but I don't post my views against halal killing on my friend's pages.

Should read Terry Schiavo - sorry, it's early:P

Terry Schiavo; brain dead, kept alive by tubes. Right-to-lifers campaigned against her being taken off breathing machine:(

This I do remember. Just awful. You mean right-to-torturers. We treat our pets more humanely.

Being angry has scrambled my brain, lol. Dreadful situation; I'd hate to be kept alive like that.

Thanks, Brenda :)

Thanks, Betty. I can't assess how far to turn the wheel. Ron gets me to go around in a circle where there are usually some parked cars, sometimes light traffic. I guess it comes with practice.

Crazy weather here! Flash flooding with 194ml in 8 hours overnight in some places! I watered yesterday:( We have had 60ml!
Michael wrote: "Dang Brenda no good at all. Didn't you have flooding last week? The weather here Adelaide has been beautiful and with the Writers festival starting tomorrow i hope it continues. :)"
No flooding last week - we are/were in drought! The Newcastle Show kicks off/has kicked off today too! It seems like there is rain for every show, so we should have guessed! They're saying the weather event is similar to the Pasha Bulka storm in June 2007 - I hope not!
Good luck with your continuing good weather for the Writers Festival Michael:)

Our local French society held a fund raising dinner a few months back and they started off with burlesque performance - lovely lady in white feathers with feathery fans - was wonderful and saucy at the same time.
I can only imagine how wonderful a whole show would have been.

Don't we still live in an era of opulence, indulgence, and sex?

Stick with it Jess, that first semester at Uni is always a big shock

If you really hate it defer Jess, sit back and think about it because all your doing is creating a bill for yourself. This happened to my niece nearly 4 years ago, her Dad wanted her to continue. She came to me in tears, so upset because the course she had chosen was just not what she thought. She deferred and now is in her last year and very happy that she changed courses. Your decision, your life, your career.

Agreed! You have one life - don't waste a moment doing something which is against who you are!
