Yes Brenda. I'm quite excited about seeing him again. But nervous too cause now he's a famous author. But he really is a lovely guy...nothing like some of the characters in his books.

Never mind Michael. I didn't think you would be able to drop everything to come. I just know that out of all my GR friends you're one of the few that really like him.

That's a shame Michael but you probably made the right decision. You would have had to wait for hours, especially by the time he individually chatted with and signed everyone's book.

Kelly I work in a bookstore and usually the paperback edition comes out months after the hardback. The HB is out at the moment. It was released in October so it could well be another 10 months or so.

Elaine | 2001 comments For those of you that are fans and might be interested to know, author Christos Tsiolkas came into Dymocks Bookstore, where I work, to sign copies of his new book Barracuda. He is absolutely lovely and took the time to speak to every single person there and to make them feel special. He is very down to earth and although quite a well known author now, is not conceited at all. Michael you would have loved him, I'm sure. He did say that he already has ideas for another book which is very exciting!!! I would highly recommend his new book.

Sure is! And isn't it great that if you can't connect with your real life community for whatever reason, there are communities on the internet! Of course, talking online isn't quite as satisfying as talking to friends face-to-face (for me, anyway), but it's better than not connecting at all! And you can do it at a time that is suitable for you!!

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments Hi all,
I think my last post got deleted - my bad for breaking the rules :(

Sooo, firstly I do apologise for being MIA for sooo long. I've had so many things going on in my life lately I feel as though I've hardly had time to breathe lol :)

I've started a new business, still writing and I'm halfway through a Masters degree in Historical Theology - although who knows what on earth I will do with that :) I've also just enrolled in a mostly online Business Degree. I had done a certificate in Small Business Management years and years ago but I think I'll definitely need a brush up on my skills.

After much heart-wrenching therapy and a lot of time Robbie and I are back together to give our marriage another chance. There's still some trust issues there, of course, but I feel quite certain that the Phoenix rising from the ashes of our break up is only going to make us a much stronger couple in the future. We've been back together for a few months now and life is really going well for us both - it's almost like the early days when we spent so much time together just talking about everything and laughing about anything. I guess in the end the old saying is true that 'love is stronger than your pride' and it does feel really wonderful to have my best friend back.

So that's basically the highlights of my time spent MIA but now that I'm back to being super organized I've made sure to schedule time to come and chat with you guys regularly.

Cheers and sorry for the super long post ;)
Trace
