Brenda, your daughter is wonderful; older animals are so often not wanted by new owners. Everyone wants a puppy or a kitten. Holly is beautiful!
I have two boxers but every afternoon, I go to our RSPCA and take the rescue dogs for a walk. It's something that anyone with the spare time can do. I worked at RSPCA when I was in my 20s and now that I've stopped work, I can do something to help the animals again.
I'm also the proud adopted mother of Ooshi, a sun bear. She was rescued from a bile farm in India and now resides in a sanctuary in Thailand. It's through the WWF based in Perth.

Yes, you must be proud, Ashleigh:)

What a lovely, thing to walk the dogs, I wish the shelter was closer as that is something I would do, happily.

Thanks Bette:) I think she is too! It's lovely that you walk the rescue dogs too, how satisfying that would be:)

That's a very sad story Tracey. I can understand you not wanting to put yourself (and an animal) through that again!

I know it is heartbreaking but they are so cute. I was missing my dog that's why I got another, maybe I have bitten off a bit extra, her being only 14 months but I have decided to take her training. Go on Tracey go and save one.

of what happened to my poor Tally a few years back. Wasn't a fun time for the poor girl.

Our kids loved Hairy Maclairy! I haven't read that one though Phrynne, but it looks like our cat has.

This is Nosey, otherwise known as monster kitten. You can see him twelve months younger (also up the tree) in my profile pick when he was just a tiny kitten. Couldn't keep him out of the tree then, and can't keep him out now.

That's unusual Leonie! At least he's polite to company;)

Bad luck Joanne! Perhaps he should have been locked in the laundry;)

Yet another naughty cat. They certainly have minds of their own.

Thank you, Kate. :)

Wow, that is impressive. Poor Tally. :(

Ouch!
I've never seen a cat with a black eye -- the image that popped into my head was of a white cat with big black circle around one eye. ;)

Love it. Sorry about the tree, Leonie, but what a character of a cat. :)

Poppy, three days after surgery. You've all heard so much about this, now you can see her:) What a skinny little leg!

He's gorgeous:) Great name! I have Bella & Moses (boxers), Poppy and Tosca (cats) - Tosca was named for my Dad's and my favourite opera.
I have two boxers, two black cats and I am a twin! Something of the 'doppelganger-effect' going on in my household:)

Definitely something there!

@Liam Poor Tally, hope she got lots of cuddles.
@Leonie What an inquisitive little munchkin:)
