The film is full of little nods towards the original radio and TV versions of the Lone Ranger. I think the older audience may well enjoy the movie more for that reason than the younger ones do.

The forecasters are threatening rain and although it is rather overcast I don't think we'll see any actual rain. Still it's a good day to curl up with a good book ;)

What is AVCon Liam?

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Adelaide Anime and Video Game Convention. Fun times. But yeah most of the friends I hang around with there either aren't coming or have gone to Europe or something so it'll pretty much just be me and my mate.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Goodness me no. I don't have the self-confidence for that.

Hey Tracey! I had a fantastic night!

It was my husbands birthday and his family and I chipped in to get him a Wii U for his birthday.. He is absolutely wrapped with that as I am I.. ( It was my idea )

He loves games, and he creates games as well. I know it was something he was after so it was great in all.

I had a few drinks tonight which is something I haven't done in years. I just let my hair down and had a really good time! Great food, wonderful company! It was beautiful! Looking forward to Sunday now.

( Long message ) But just thought I would let you know! hehehe. I am pretty happy. It is midnight now and starting to get sleepy! Have to do my grocery shopping early in the morning too!! lol

Oh well.. :-P

Have a great weekend!

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) I need a kitten's name!!!

I've just rescued a black female kitten from the storm drain outside my house and plan to keep her. My adult cat Tosca thinks that's a really bad idea. Calling her Sweetie but that's more a term of endearment.

But I'm stuck for a name! Does anyone have any ideas (maybe even a literary character) or is willing to share their cat's name?

I took my niece and nephew (6 & 7) to see it last week and I think I loved it more than them. The first Despicable Me is one of my most favourite movies.

Naming cats is always fun! We have Nosey (mine) and Sox (our son's). Nosey suits him because he is. So far this morning he's knocked three coins off the bench onto the floor to see what would happen, paddled in the water container, tried to sneak into the night shift bedroom twice, and is currently seeing if the pile of paper and pens next to me might also fall on to the floor for his amusement.

We've previously had black cats - the first one was Panda (he was black and white), and then Spike (the coolest cat ever, with a fettish for carrots). If you like any of those, feel free to use them, but they were male cats.

Nosey sounds wonderful! I've actually never had a kitten before. I've always inherited other people's cast-offs or pets belonging to people who have died. So this little one is a real education for me.

She runs up the curtains (they're silk!), pushes things off my coffee table, hides in my linen cupboard, ambushes me from behind the sofa, gets on the mantlepiece and weaves between my antique picture frames and 1800s perfume bottles, stalks Tosca mercilessly and skitters round the polished floors like the devil is behind her. I'm exhausted! Maybe I should call her Trouble...

message 8729: by Leonie (new)

Leonie (leonierogers) | 3569 comments Hmmm "Monster" comes to mind as well! And as I read your post, I've realised that my profile picture is actually Nosey up the Christmas tree!

I bet she sounds like a small herd of elephants as well - our two certainly do when they're skidding round the corners, smacking into the wall and galloping past the bedroom door!

Thanks Brenda. I seem be a magnet for anything lost or in distress. She was pretty feral and it took me 10 days of putting out food at the drain outlet for her before she'd let me touch her. It really bothered me seeing her there often wet and bedraggled.

Now she's living the life of Riley with ducted heating, a warm bed and regular meals. She'll get all her shots, wormed and spayed on Monday. Her new Mum better bring along the credit card!

I have really enjoyed Melbourne, we just recently moved into the dang cutest house, in a really nice area. But I really want to go back to uni, and I currently work for a Melbourne uni...and yeah not liking their set up, much prefer the QLD uni set ups.

Also yes so over the cold, and need my puppy hahah, but if I could I would have stayed in Melb, maybe later down the track.
