If he is a leader in the anti-gay movement then he must be very outspoken about it. Do we know why? Does he have a religious belief about it?

I should have read his author profile before I posted. The answer to my question is probably yes.

He's a Mormon, I believe. And he isn't the leader of the movement, but he's on the board of some very prominent anti-gay organisation.

Yes - it's a difficult issue for some religions.

I see. Thanks now I understand. I also googled him and read that he is a practicing member of the church of Jesus Christ so that would explain his views. I didn't see anything about him being a Mormon though but either way it does say he's against same sex marriages.

:P Church of Jesus Christ of the Ladder Day Saints is the Mormon church, Elaine. The more you know.

Wow didn't hear anything (or feel) about that Leonie...do you know when, what magnitude etc?

It was a big enough "bang" to move the chair that I was sitting in, and get people all over town to post on the Community facebook page. Here in Muswellbrook there have been reports of shaking walls, cracking noises and rattling doors. No damage reported, just felt everywhere.

Thanks for that Leonie..pretty scary!

message 8811: by Leonie (new)

Leonie (leonierogers) | 3569 comments More startling than scary for us, Brenda :) I'm hoping that those closer to the centre of the quake are all OK.

Yes me too. Missed the local news tonight, so don't know if it was on that.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) There was one in between the North and South islands in New Zealand yesterday evening/night which my friend was basically on top of and didn't feel. He's a bit worried about his attention span now.

Yes I did hear there were 2 in Wellington in the last few days:( Poor things.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Pretty big, too, the one last night was a magnitude 6.5 I believe.

message 8817: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80169 comments Mod
Awful! There are a fair few of them around at the moment:(

message 8818: by Leonie (new)

Leonie (leonierogers) | 3569 comments Turns out that the quake was actually here at Muswellbrook - this morning Geoscience Australia had updated all of the details to locate it here. Possibly explains why we felt it, and no one else did...

Only a 3.0 and no reports of damage anywhere. Unlike the Wellington one. We are fortunate.

Saw that in today's paper Leonie...you are lucky it wasn't worse, for sure!

It sounds like a very good book but when you have read it could you tell me why it has such a peculiar title?

message 8838: by Dale (new)

Now that Goodreads has so many users I wish they would increase their access so we can always get through. Tonight this site was nearly unusable for over an hour

If you check the Feedback group now and then, you will notice messages telling of site updates from the PTB, so it will be down for awhile. I'm not sure if it happened this time, but I suspect that would be it:) Good for reading time though;)
