I have read several of Caroline Overington's books Faye. Lots of people enjoy her work but I'm afraid I won't be reading anymore. But that's just my opinion; please don't let me sway you:)

Hi all, just wanted to share a very sad moment for my family and I, with all those pet lovers out there. Unfortunately, we had to put our beautiful,german shepherd Rex to sleep this morning. Old age finally got the better of him. I have cried all day, I just can't stop, I know we did the right thing...but it hurts like crazy. He was such a beautiful natured boy. He will be very sadly missed.

It's a very hard decision but you are so right you have done the right thing. But it sure doesn't make it any easier.
How old was beautiful Rex?

Deepest sympathies Faye. So very sad for you. They are so much a part of the family, aren't they...take care. x
We have a shepherd. They're lovely, cuddly, snuggly dogs. It's so hard when we have to say goodbye to pets. I'm always a ridiculous sooky mess. :(
Thanks everyone, I knew you would understand, Rex was about 11 however, he may of been older as we got him from the pound.
One of my other German Shephers was 16which is very old for a large dog, they all go when they need to - don't they? But one thing I will say they have all been beautiful rex was my 5th german shep and they have all had different but great personalities. I think it doesn't matter what animal you have if you love then and treat them right they just give the love right back.

From one animal lover to another, my heart goes out to you.
As you'll no doubt know, it's just time which will take away the awful loss you are feeling now. (Although I always felt like slapping people when they said that to me, it is true.)
