What long weekend is that Emily?
What long weekend is that Emily?

It was the same childcare I used to go to, so it was interesting looking around there again.

I am thinking a movie (at the movies), a little garden pottering and a lot of snoozing!
Melbournites have next Monday off (Labour day) - how'd you get tomorrow off Michael?

Mmmm... sleep until 3, can't remember when I last managed that. Sounds like an excellent plan!

Just for you I will!

I always thought Wednesdays would be the best day off during the week, never more than 2 days of work at a time... but really any day off is a good day ;)

I've only done that once, and technically I went to bed at 8AM that day. Anyway, left undisturbed in the next few days, it'll happen!

The amazing and wonderful authors
Helene Young
and Lisa Heidke
with Shelleyrae from Book'd Out, who organised this event at the Taree Library on International Women's Day last night
and myself, who was lucky enough to spend a few hours with them all, having loads of fun with lots of laughter between us all. It was an amazing night, and I thank once again, Shelleyrae, for organising such a great event, and the two wonderful authors for giving us their time and company!

Now I wonder what your reply would have been if someone else posted my booksigning & not to mention all the other advertising on this page that doesn't get asked to be directed to the 'spotlight page', no wonder I rarely visit anymore, obviously no place for a poet!!

Calm down, anything wrong with a nice rule-abiding chat?
By the way that was a very long sentence ;)
Carmel wrote: "David, your presence is always regarded as important as any other member so please don't feel that you and your passion for poetry hasn't a place here as it does. Laura is just trying to keep some ..."
Sorry Carmel but I have to slightly disagree with poetry on this site as, in all the book challenges, books bought, books currently reading, I've maybe seen one or two poetry books, there are very few here who would even read a poetry book.
I also stand by what I said, If Helene, for example, posted her next book signing here I know she would not be told to post it elsewhere.
Jess...what's this 'calm down' I'm very calm & collected thank you & what do you mean by a long sentence?

So if we win the petition, even with two jobs you would have 2 days off ;)
::wanders off to find petition template for cause::

Hi David,
I am a poetry fan, although it's not the majority 'genre' in my reading (maybe more my writing). And, I think it's great to hear about new works, poetry or otherwise - perhaps a new thread in the "You and Your Books" or "Book Related Banter" category? Seems like a good fit.
P.S. on poetry topic, loved Leonard Cohen's - Spice Box of the Earth
I'll keep an eye out for a new books coming thread...
