Amber (elfkingdom) | 366 comments Something stupid: my sister took her mobile into Optus to get fixed, and never heard back from them. She went in there yesterday to ask if her phone was back. The woman was very rude, and said, 'Well, maybe if you actually turned your phone on you would know we've tried calliing you many times.'
My Sister: what number did you actually call?
Rude Saleswoman: your MOBILE.
My sister pointed out they had her mobile as it was being fixed, and she'd left a home number.
The rude saleswoman said, 'I don't have time for this. We've been busy.'!!!!!!

Treating customers with respect just seems to be a thing of the past these days.

Amber (elfkingdom) | 366 comments It's not the first time she's had run-ins with the staff at that particular store, but it is the first time they've told her off for not answering her phone - which they're calling to tell her it's ready to be picked up!!
Unfortunately it's the third time in a year she's had to send it in for fixing - and each time comes back worse than when it went in!!

They should just replace it...tell her to threaten to go to Telstra! Or tell her to get in touch with the ombudsman...or write to the management...it works!

Yeah my brother has told her to do the same thing. She's got an action plan for tomorrow organised, and she's ready to fight! She is so sick of it...

@ Michael - I'd do the same, for sure. I don't have the patience to put up with rubbish like that. And I think she's had more than enough now.

Yes! I often have this problem when reading..So it's why GR is awesome because you can see what your friends like and possibly get ideas from them.

Another thing you could look at Janine, which might give you some ideas....at the top right hand side of the page you're on now (reading this) and in any other section, there is a link to 'bookshelf' http://www.goodreads.com/group/booksh... or you can click on my link;D It lists loads of books...at the moment there are over 3000 titles there....so you would probably find some new authors there as well.

Love this:

“Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.” – Life’s Little Instruction Book, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Emily E (emily_e1) | 347 comments I would like a mongrel, and I'm quite keen to rescue puppies if I can. That being said I'd love a labrador or golden retriever mix.

If I was buying with flexible purse strings then I think I would be getting two labra-doodles, they don't shed hair but have the lovely lab temprament...

Sounds like you have lots of choices there:) We have a cavoodle, she doesn't shed hair either, and is very intelligent. They're all gorgeous, and I love your idea of rescuing puppies:)

Adhityani (dhitri) Finished my 10k stromlo #run in 1:04 and feelin AWESOME! PB o... on Twitpic

Just had to share...

Today I ran my toughest run ever! It was a 10k trail course at Mt Stromlo (the Mizuno Lightning Strike 10k). Did I mention that this was my FIRST ever trail race and FIRST ever 10k? I only started running Sept last year (to lose weight, now am hooked!). The elevation gain was around 100m, which is crazy for someone who has only ever done flat round the lake runs. I finished in 1 hour 4 minutes, which is a personal best for a 10k.

Needless to say I AM FEELING AWESOME!

Now bring on the next run! Which will be another 10k in March (this time on a flat course). I am building up to run my first ever half marathon in April.

message 4939: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments 10k? Are you serious? I can't do distance, it just kills me. Sprints are better (because they are over quicker! :P). But 10k with a 100m incline is an AWESOME effort!
Maybe in March you'll make it in less than an hour! Good luck :)

We kind of accidentally acquired two Maltese Shitzhu puppies at the end of last year. They are siblings, and have just turned 5 months old. Apart from attacking the clothes washing and all toilet rolls (typical puppy behaviour) they are great fun to watch. They romp and play all day, then suddenly flop into an exhausted sleep. They have the happiest faces I have ever seen in dogs. I highly recommend puppies, and once I've remembered how to upload photos I will post one.
