Are they making that one as well as the first book?

A little too similar if you ask me. Guess they are using photoshop or similar for their cover images.

Haven't heard anything over here Jess?

message 5218: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments Its still up on youtube. We spent ages talking about this today with our history teacher.

It was stupid but they definitely dont deserve to be punished like this (so much media and expulsion). Its going to come back and bite them in a few years. Its unfair on them, their families and the school. What they did isn't even uncommon. I've heard far worse things being said in a normal classroom environment. My teacher agrees. Its only different because they put it on youtube, OBVIOUSLY as a spoof of Kony2012. What they did was definitely wrong, but they dont deserve to be punished so. It doesn't deserve to be a news story, not at all.

message 5219: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments I didn't say they should have put it up. They're stupid to upload that to the internet, but its clearly just a joke (With a poor sense of humor). Its not a real news story, and though the girls were dumb, its the media making this out to be way bigger than it should be. Because openly talking about sex, in school, at such an age, is really not that surprising.

just a fun family book buying story

so a little while ago when Book Depository was having that send 10% off to your friends sale, I sent one of to my dad. Being a busy man he only recently got around to seeing my e.mail, and went to see if he could purchase Angelmaker by Nick Harkaway cheaper then he was seeing it over here (has been wanting it for awhile) being BD he did.

well I have noticed ever since that first purchase no fewer then 8 BD parcels have turned up at our house without my name on them!
God I love the feeling of getting my dad back into the book buying addiction :)lol

Tui Allen (tuibird) | 143 comments There are only 55 of our beautiful little Maui's dolphins left alive. They are the world's most rare and also the world's smallest dolphins and they live off our west coast. I've been travelling up and down the country this week to Maui's protest marches.
Since we're allowed to chat about whatever we like here, can I ask you to sign a petition to ask our gov't to take action to protect them? The petition closes in a few hours so it's the last chance. There is full info and links to the petition here:

Tui Allen (tuibird) | 143 comments These days you just click on a computer file and a number like 1 and the machine spits out one copy of the book. Then you feed it another different filename and say a number 3 and it spits out 3 copies of another book. It's called POD (Print On Demand)
Removes all necessity for large print run to make individual copies cheaper as in the old days.

message 5248: by Tui (new)

Tui Allen (tuibird) | 143 comments That's why it costs $0.00 to make a book available these days. I spent $0.00 to make my book available for purchase in print. It was already an e-book but friends and rellies pestered for the print version so I quickly did all book design myself using a template provided free. People can go to Amazon, order 1 copy and the machine only prints it out once it has received the order. The irony is that it seems to be selling better than the e-book now though the e-book is a fraction the price.
Of course I'd paid a lot for assessment and editing etc but that was all done already for the e-book. Didn't have to be done again for the print book.
