You are right about that. One book easy, fun, likable to read, while the other hard, not fun to read."

The first one is Assassin's Apprentice, the other one Garden of the Moon.

I'm doing that now.... :S

Jason (darkfiction) | 3204 comments Grant, I'd be your professional reading partner and your personal butler. Even if that involves serving only apple juice or Coca-Cola. LOL

Anything to be a full time reader and live in a warmer climate. :D

message 1605: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol, Coca-cola it is :) I'm entirely too neat freak to have a butler though ;) We can stick to full time reader/adventurer

message 1606: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3204 comments Ah, cool. I think I'd rather be a full time reader/adventurer. LOL

message 1607: by Laurel (new)

Laurel I'm imagining the two of you dressed as aragorn and Captain Jack Sparrow!

message 1608: by William Thomas (new)

William Thomas (williamthomasmooore) | 5 comments Currently just started Shadowfall by James Clemens, book one of the Godslayer series, and Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie.

Shadowfall may be a typical epic fantasy, but the writing is so solid, so vivid, and so literary that even if you consider the story typical, you cannot deny the style.

message 1609: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3204 comments LMAO @ Laurel.

Best Served Cold is an awesome book, William. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Don't remember if I mentioned it here, but Retribution Falls is good stuffs.

message 1612: by [deleted user] (new)

Im totally dressing as Jack Sparrow for Halloween now and taking a picture, Laurel! I'd been working on awesome reverse knee stilts for a werewolf costume but now that has to wait another year ;)

@ Ala...and the tbr list grows by one. I peed a little laughing at your comments on your review of it by the way :) just saying

message 1613: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Xu (kxu65) I just started World War Z.

message 1614: by [deleted user] (new)

I was a teeny bit disappointed in WWZ, Kevin. I kept waiting for the book to start but it was just a tried and true guide all the way through with a short, not so interesting zombie story thrown in here and there to keep your interest

message 1615: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

whimsicalmeerkat | 0 comments Someday I will actually acquire a green contact and be Delirium for Halloween. I will actually do this someday. I just have to not be broke at Halloween one year.

message 1619: by [deleted user] (new)

Whoops! Thanks for the link, Mark! I totally confused WWZ with The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From the Living Dead! Scratch my previous statement

Lol. Yes, that Delirium. She's one of my favorite characters in the comic. Her and Lucifer.

message 1623: by [deleted user] (new)

Mark, Ive read WWZ as well and enjoyed it far, far more than the guide. It's what I had kind of hoped the guide would be in fact :)

Denae, you're kinda awesome. Just saying.

message 1627: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh man...yall need to plan a trip down here in October. I got to New Orleans most Halloweens with buds and go all kinds of costume balls/contests. It's an absolute blast

message 1628: by William Thomas (new)

William Thomas (williamthomasmooore) | 5 comments World War Z is better enjoyed as an audiobook with a host of narrators, including Henry Rollins and Alan Alda.

I randomly get the theme song to Cheers and The Incredible Hulk stuck in my head :) Go figure

message 1631: by [deleted user] (new)

Ditto on the Hulk. Also the Imperial March from Star Wars. Just walking into a room with that playing in your head makes for a great start to the day.

message 1632: by [deleted user] (new)

Adds that Sithly swagger to ones step, that's for sure.

Still gotta work on the whole not trying to force choke people who annoy me though...

Thanks, Maggie. I don't mind if a book is not a quick, light read as long as it's enjoyable and intriguing.

I could have listen to World War Z about 3 year ago via itunes.

Regina (reginar) I am listening to the audio of Elantris by Brandon Sanderson , I am reading both A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin Midnight Riot (Peter Grant, #1) by Ben Aaronovitch

Which version of Elantris are listing to the Graphic Audio version or just the normal Recorded Books version?

message 1644: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I didn't realize there were two versions. Just the regula recordes books version.

Kevin Xu (kxu65) Regina wrote: "I didn't realize there were two versions. Just the regula recordes books version."

You really should listen to the Graphic Audio version. It is dramatized like a old time radio show, there slogan is its like a movie in your mind.

message 1646: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, *good karma* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments I'm reading a multitude of books :-)

The most recent are The Black Company and Grave Peril.

message 1647: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Grave Peril is when the series starts getting realy good.

Kevin I had no idea about the Graphic Audio versions. I just looked at their website, thank you! I may *read* #2 in Brent Weeks' series by getting the audio there.

message 1649: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 29, 2011 12:34PM) (new)

Lol...I'll email yall the story later this evening. And yes, Maggie, I kinda got in trouble that evening, hence my not posting the story

Regina, I liked Midnight Riot, I just felt that it really dragged in many parts of the novel. I prefer a bit more action and depth and found it a bit lacking in both aspects but I did enjoy it enough that I'll be reading future novels in hopes that the author ads a bit more flair.

message 1650: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (lostunicorn) Just finsihed The Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages and now it's back to the WoT series....ready to start book #10....

Any thoughts on when to read New Spring? Usually I'd read a 'prequel' after the series, but since the series isn't done yet, I'm a bit confuzzled....
