*gasp* And you call yourself a fantasy fan. Imposter!
I'm just kidding, I didn't know what they were until last summer. I loved them though.

I'll have to give that a try.
(I love your avatar, by the way.)

Ala-I see why you kept telling me to read this now...it's going to be a trilogy right? I am already thinking about omnibus editions...lol

Amanda, in case you haven't heard... the sequel is coming out soon. I read/playing/watch almost everything Alice... it's been a favorite for as long as I can remember.
Currently reading
Mistborn: The Final Empire, and still fighting my way through Furies of Calderon. It's going a little better, but not much. I have a copy of Chronicles of The Black Company, so I'll probably hop into that shortly as well.

It's good, huh? I can't wait for the next one! And I think it's something like 5 books long, not just three. But a 5 book series should be a cakewalk for you :P
I still haven't read the other Demon Cycle stuff yet, though you might enjoy them: The Great Bazaar and Other Stories and Brayan's Gold

Finishing up The Warrior Prophet today (thoroughly enjoyable) and trying to decide what I want to read for my 100th book of the year. I'd like a new UF Ive never read. I'm having serious Dresden withdrawals. Suggestions?

There's this list; looks like a lot of girl meets vampire, girl swives vampire, girl kills vampire/becomes vampire ... and some fool put Harry Potter o..."
Oh God...why all the vampires?? I used to like Vampires but I'm getting sick of Vampires...
*goes looking for a stake*
I suggest we write a teenage angst romance about werewolves. It'll sell like hotcakes, we'll all hate it and talk badly about it - and we'll all be rich and can spend our days reading. :-)

I'm with you, MrsJoseph, I used to love vampire/werewolf stories but now they just remind me of the tweens drooling over Edward... Also, stalking should not be cast as romantic for middle/high schoolers.

Exactly!

Potentially more terrifying are the middle-aged women who read these books and croon over how dreamy the characters are... I cry for our society sometimes.

I *suppose* that it's better that they read something than nothing... but just barely. I feel like these books are just soft-core porn, geared towards teens who aren't even aware that there are better relationship options than being stalked. These books put out the wrong message on so many fronts that I think it's almost criminal to foist them on the youth.
Also, there is INFINITELY better reading material that is still interesting and action-packed. I feel that any parent who really cares that their child read could take a minute to explore their options/ at least check the content of the book first...

Very true. I mean look at how many of us were into books our parents would have grounded us for reading.
Ulitimately the best thing here is to tell them how to deal with dating, how they should expect to be treated and when they need to get out of the relationship.

It already exists: Shiver. -sobs-

You have a good point...

You could call the zombie Eddie, and he could tell the girl, Suzy, "You don't want to hang with me. I will hurt you. I will eat your flesh!"
But she'll stay with him and love him and squeeze him.
Until the bad zombies come, of course...

I'm almost positive that there was a movie in the early 90's about a zombie that was in love with a high school girl, Jason!
Yup! My Boyfriend's Back!

Sparkly maggots. Thanks, guys. How will I ever be able to live after today?

Need we say more?
*grins* I'm not gonna lie, Mike, I would totally read it. I'm a sucker for zombie stuff ;)

Just downloaded Monster Island from Amazon. You inadvertently found my 100th read of the year, Mike! Lol, thanks, bud.
Denae, you're not alone in your love of Romero :)

The "monsters" in this movie aren't zombies!
(beats head on wall and pulls out some of what hair is left).

:-D
