What Are You Currently Reading?

I now have a reference list category on my Kindle titled "Never again".

Got this one as a free download and liked it well enough to buy the second of the series, which is sitting pretty much at the top of my virtual TPR stack now.

Glad to hear that it's a good book! Been meaning to check it out (been reading to read more of Kay's works actually)

Finished it, but unfortunately a disappointment. Not nearly as much fun and the main characters in this one were rather unlikeable except for the dragons. Oh, well ... maybe time for me to go back to the 'old reliable re-reads" for awhile while I wait for the September issue of a couple I know will not disappointment.

Interested in your take on this one. I like this series, some much better than others and this particular one was much darker than most.

I'll let you know. And I think I can see what you mean so far.

I won't give any spoilers..."
Yes, there were a few funny moments, but IMO if Grave Peril were made into a movie, it would be classified as “horror” rather than a thriller. I have never been a horror fan, and ghosts and demon possession are particularly creepy for me.
(view spoiler)
There are many things about the Dresden Files that I like but also have problems with it which I may address later on in the “Issues you have with books you love” thread. Or would it be better to post in the Dresden Files Buddy Reads Thread?

also The End of Eternity by Isaac Asimov

Wherever you like, Jalilah. Depends on who you want to answer you--Dresdenites or other people who "have issues with books you love." ;)

I hear you! I am going to have to start cutting down the 'fun' books to make way for classbooks.

The last 1/4 of Black Dahlia was excellent and I thought Equal Rites was much better thanThe Color of Magic. I will definitely read more of both series.
Now I'm reading Casino Royale.

I am really enjoying it so far.

Scott, you really should go back and read the second book, The Light Fantastic in order to finish the second half of the story that began in The Color of Magic.

I plan on going back and reading the Color of Magic one day. After that, I'm sure I'll read the second.

Gah! How'd I get so behind this year???

It is a very original modern take on the Fey. I love books that have musician characters who also use music as magic.
The only thing, if you do not like spoilers DO NOT read the inside of the cover! I can’t believe the publishers did this! They wrote about something that you would not have found out about until about a third into the book!

Both of these sit on my re-read shelves, like them both very much. As you say, a very different view of the fey which isn't easy to accomplish.

Going to have to find them if they've impressed you, Sharon, since we seem to like many of the same authors and books. I think I read a vampire series by Tanya Huff a few years ago? Not sure. Right now, I'm catching up with Kvothe in The Wise Man's Fear.

I have a copy of Ready Player One, too. I need to read it.

I recently saw the movie: it was enchanting (pun intended). Young Anne Hathaway was simply a treasure.
