I just finished reading Paradise, also by Judith McNaught. It was an exciting read as well as an emotional rollercoaster ride in my opinion.

Currently I'm reading The Dragon Lady by Sterling Seagrave. I'm not usually a history or bio buff, but this book has just enough history to make it academic and yet sufficient personal detail on the last Empress of China to make it fascinating. Only 1/3 of the way through...

@ Cammie I am loving it..smiles. I can't get enough of the author. I also download

I am also reading on the side:

Now I am listening Visions of Sugar Plums!! I am really enjoying this one and it is funny..smiles.

I had that book..it started out ok..then too many family members started happening..I got confused. then when the father/daughter thing started..it hit the wall.didnt want to read more.

I needed a light read..it is SO funny..I love this author's sense of humor...its had me laughing out loud!..what a disfunctional family..Im looking forward to reading the stories of claire's sisters.
as for claire..its good to read about when things are at their worse..you pick yourself back up..& keep your sense of humor.

Thanks Sandi. :D!! I was getting all confuse just listening to it and I thought it was me, but you are the 2nd person that has told me it was a very confusing read. Then I had 1 person tell me it was a good read. Now I am confused..LOL!! And no one has told me about a daughter/father thing..if I am catching your drift I don't think I will be reading this book at all.

hi debi..sounds like your not at that part yet..anne rice is known for incest in her books.but I didnt know till I was reading the book...I got sick of her switching from all the"aunts" & their stories.Im not a prude..but I dont go for stuff like that..have you tried her sister? Alice BorchardtI liked her stuff better..devoted & beguiled are her better books.these 2 go together. dont know what all the who-ra was about her books..I have all the vampire ones by her & Im not so sure I want to read them..

I'm a bit of a Beatles nerd and the whole thing is so interesting to me.

As for reading, I just finished reading Rant by Chuck Palahniuk.. Didn't like it at all. I was more and more confused the further along I got into the book. I was relieved when I finally finish it.
After that, I feel like reading something light, so I picked up The Ideal Wife by Mary Balough.
Both of this books was lent to me by a friend, so it didn't actually reduce the number of books that I bought and have not yet read LoL

Watched the movie and I seem to get drawn into WWII stories, fictional or non. Only bad thing is that a sad or depressing book can really change my mood...I get too wrapped up in it. Thats when I pick up a "lighter" read like Autobiography of a Fat Bride: True Tales of a Pretend Adulthood and laugh until I pee my pants. LOL

ooo. Let me look and see if I still have it and I could send to you or swap or something. It IS funny and I have her other books on my "to read" list. lol
