Cecilee | 10 comments Gena showalter mercy Thompson series is very good, I'm reading frost burned right now. It's not as rated r as BDB or lords of the underworld but still very good. I also love Karen Marie moning books. If you start with her highlander series them the fever series you will see some of the characters come together and then read iced, all are amazing reads!

Elisa | 8 comments I just finished the fever series and am not sure where to go from here. I've read Lara Adrian larissa ione and Jr ward. I've loved each one more than the last but don't know how to top fever. I'm a fever junkie now. some help please.

message 155: by Angie (new)

Angie | 21 comments Does anyone have a rec for a shifter romance (doesn't have to be though) with a weaker heroine… not like whiny weak, but maybe in way to over her head weak. I am having a hard time explaining what I am looking for. Something were the hero is stronger then the heroine at more masculine things and the heroine doesn't have to be weak just her strengths are in different areas then the hero... I hope that makes sense.

I haven't read Shelly Laurenston, but it sounds like her shifter PNR books are up your alley.

message 160: by Angie (new)

Angie | 21 comments Sharona, I went with the summary I like the best LOL, plus my amazon purchase history has that i bought Mane Event and we i looked for it I finished it(I know that is awful I don't really remember it).

Alicia, If you have not read the Nalini Singh psy-changeling series Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh they are full of strong males and a diverse group of heroines... my only complaint with the series is the books do not come out fast enough. Her other series Guild Hunter (not shifter) but angel's and vampires is awesome (in my opinion) as well Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh

Missyb | 98 comments Alicia wrote: "I started with Mane Event. I think it is called. It is the first book in her shifter series. I am not fond of lions, but it is interesting. lol How are you liking Wolf with benefits?

The first book The Mane Event (Pride, #1) by Shelly Laurenston is about the Lions, then things kind of change direction and get better with the wolfs being involved with so much. Some of the lions are mentioned or in the other books.

Dragon Kin by Aiken is also very funny, but is about dragons.

message 162: by Missyb (new)

Missyb | 98 comments Alicia wrote: "Thank you! The Mane Event isn't too bad, but it sort of begun focusing on sex and sort of left out the personality it started with. I am glad it twists a bit more!"

I really liked the series, but felt the first book was okay, but really happy I continued with it. The other series Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack, #1) by Shelly Laurenston is not as funny, but is pretty good.

Tammy | 395 comments I'm in need of some recommendations...I figured I'd try here instead starting a theme. I just finished reading Poison Princess (first in Kresley Cole's ya series) it's set in Louisiana and the hero is cajun. Does anyone know of any dangerous heroes that are cajun or creole or from Louisiana...thanks :)

Here are some shifter pnr's w/every day women who all of a sudden get thrown into the shifter's world. They're not weak exactly, just in way over their heads. I'm just listing the first book in each series.

Primal Law (Alpha Pack #1) by J.D. Tyler
The Mating (Law of the Lycans, #1) by Nicky Charles
The Heat (The Big Bad Wolf, #1) by Heather Killough-Walden
Desire Untamed (Feral Warriors, #1) by Pamela Palmer --I thought the first book in this series was a little cheesey but it takes off from book two on

Eternal Hunger (Mark of the Vampire, #1) by Laura Wright
Archangel's Blade (Guild Hunter, #4) by Nalini Singh
Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost
Xander's Chance (Damian Eternal, #1) by Lizzy Ford --he's not violent but he is a huge jackass

I love the Elder Races series.. waiting for the next book! I think that is my problem all of the series I am reading are in between books!

Although I just found

SURRENDER Book Four of The Dragonfly Chronicles by Heather McCollum which I have been waiting a while for. The author was very ill and thankfully on the mend!

Zane is a great character and it was a great book & series.

Jeaniene Frost Night Prince series (it's sort of a spin off of her Night Huntress series. Vlad is in that series and this series is about him). Vlad is violent and his mate is head strong. 2 of the 3 books are out.

Larissa Ione's Demonica series has some vampires, but demons are a main stay, and the follow up series Lords of Deliverance is about the 4 horsemen and the characters from the Demonica series are in it occasionally. The guys are dark and dangerous, the ladies are dangerous and smart.

These were really good, i read the first 3... only problem is now I have another series I am waiting for the next book in:) I am usually not a fan of the same couple being the main characters in multiple consecutive books, but this is done really well and she manages to keep their story interesting.

I'm a huge fan of the GhostWalker series, so I'd go with Shadow Game. It's a bit slower than the rest of the books, but still a great read.

It was my first CF book and from there, I went on to do a massive glom of her work, which I am still working my way through. I would say it's a good indicator if she's a writer you want to follow. Don't give up on the GW series if you find the first book a bit slow.

Yeah - I think it takes a bit of an adjustment when you start reading CF. The first one I ever tried was Dark Prince and I remember thinking, why is this scene still going after forty pages?!

But once I adjusted the way I read, I pretty much read everything she wrote.
