I'm sorry but I was disappointed.

description

Where do I begin?

November, a girl who grew up in New York, moved to Tennessee when she was fed-up with her abusive single mom and was randomly attacked by a stranger. In her new home she finally reunited with her long-lost father. Eventually, she started working for his club, not as a stripper but as an office worker. There, she met the hottest guy on the planet-- Asher James Mayson, who has siblings that are equally hot. Asher is not only irresistible but he has also a bad-boy personality which made her totally smitten. He's also rich as he owns a security company. And then... they fell in love. Then things start to get crazy as November's attacker followed her and made her life miserable.

So, there was insta-love here. And I hated it because it's super duper insta-love! When Asher called her "baby" on their first date I was like, WTH?

description

And then he's got all-protective Alpha and jealous even if they're still new and that's it. I was so annoyed. His approach was manipulative. He treated November as if she doesn't have the right to decide and the right to refuse. What. The. Actual. Fuck.

description

And then he kidnapped her (like literally!) because he's "interested". Seriously? And not only that. He even took her phone and keys so she can't get away from him. What a creep!

"I'm not ready to have you out of my sight."

"Why?"

"Because I'm interested."

"I'm sure." I roll my eyes. "So if you're interested, then why not ask me out like a normal guy instead of basically kidnapping me?"

"Why, if I asked you out, you would have blown me off and avoided me. This way, you don't have a choice. I have your keys and your phone."

"You have my phone?" I screech, opening my bag to see if he's telling the truth. "How did you get my phone? Oh my God, you're insane. I'm driving down a dark road with an insane person who kidnapped me."

And don't even get me started on the cheese and the predictable plot twist.

Thanks for the lots of patience I was able to finish it, but not without me rolling my eyes at least 20 times. *sigh

I apologise in advance, this is a harsh review of the book. I was angry when I wrote this. It contains spoilers if you've not read the book.

This book...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Every page had some type of error. Either it was a spelling mistake, the author wrote one thing in one chapter then changed it in another, or a sentence wouldn't make sense. That really frustrates me, it's making me feel that authors now are getting too lazy to get the book edited properly or they're not even checking it over themselves. We're spending money on the book and wasting our own time reading something that the author or editor just couldn't be bothered to correct it properly. It's not like it takes long to read it but for me, it took so bloody long.

It's not just this author, lately all the books I've read have been full of mistakes. Can all authors please spell-check their books please??

Now, this story sounded good but it was also very misleading to the actual story.

After leaving the Big Apple and her bad memories for Tennessee, November starts working for her dad at his strip club doing the books.

where we see her do work....once? Then she doesn't work again and seems to spend her free time either shopping, having coffee with friends or having sex with Asher.

November wants nothing to do with Asher but too bad for November, fate has other plans.

Misleading. As soon as she see's him she wants him. He asks her out and she says yes, case closed. Not once do I recall her ever thinking she wasn't interested in him, although to be fair he does force her to go on a date with him.

Asher Mayson has never had a problem getting a woman, that is until November.

WRONG. He has no problems with November because she's so willing to do anything for him. He meets her when she's with her dad and he thinks she is one of his strippers and he insults her (love at first sight right there) then her dad introduces November as his daughter THEN he's ~in love~. He bumps into her again when she takes her dog to visit the old people in the elderly home (????) and it happens to be his grandmother who also loves this girl. He forces her to go out with him and the rest is history. No problem with getting her to date him.

Now all he can think about is making November his and keeping her safe.

From his introduction, it takes about 3 pages for him to 'make November his' so this is dumb.

I can't even... this story was just pointless. A lot of the time I was wondering what the real story was, I know she had some stalker after her but it was more of a side story to her and Asher and their "relationship" - which was a total mess - and when we got to the stalker issue at the end, it was resolved in 2 pages. It was unnecessary drama and it pissed me off. That's one of my book peeves, the author adding drama in when its not even needed, if you have a good story and you can write it properly, you don't need that.

Let me move onto the characters. First off, I knew the girl was called November in the story because it's in the summary and it's also the title of the book. However, I still hated it. Most of the people who talk to her in this book didn't even call her that anyway, they were always calling her 'baby girl' or 'baby' - which also got on my tits. Now November at first came across as a little strange because of this 'talking her to dog' thing and she also came across as naive. She didn't grow at all, none of the characters did but to be fair there wasn't any character development anyway.

Her first week in Tennessee she decides to take her dog - the one that saved her pissing life in New York - to the old folks home. Who knows if they have allergies or anything but it doesn't matter, she just decides to walk in and show people her dog and act as if she's the most amazing person in the world. (Who does this? Especially if you're new to the area, that wouldn't be your first place to visit) Is she trying to prove something? Whatever it is, it's annoying

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Everyone loves this girl and I can't get my head around it. Guys fancy her and girls want to be her friend. This girl lived in NEW YORK CITY. It's a tough place to live and she's so dumb and weak. If you grow up in a place like New York, you're going to be tough. Not her though, she still needs a guy to keep her safe.

And let me move onto said guy - Asher Mayson. Psh. I got a Travis Maddox vibe from him. Short tempered, controlling and over protective (the bad kind). He was constantly getting pissy for random and stupid reasons, and he'd use sex as a way to get out of an arguement with November. She'd try and stand up for herself and he'd be like 'NO IT'S THIS, END OF STORY' then he'd kiss her and she'd go into an 'Asher Fog'

Asher Fog

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

which basically means whenever he's near, she has no fucking brain. She can't think for herself and without talking the issue they have out, he just fucks her. Arguement over. He uses sex as a way to get his own way because ~she luvs him soooo muchhh and omg he's so good in bedd~

He's also kind of harsh, he grabs hold of her hair at one point and yanks it mid-arguement, shouts at her to look into her eyes, when she doesn't he shouts "EYES! NOW!"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

just little things like that gives me a 'domestic violence' vibe. And what's with this 'coming together' shit, why do they have to 'come together' all the time. Can't she just enjoy it without you having to come with her? It got old and annoying really quickly, the author tried to make it romantic I think. Let the girl enjoy it, if you're really that amazing in bed then maybe you could give her more than one orgasm then you could probably 'come together' at some point. Yeah not that great now are you? Smug bastard.

She's hardly even allowed to see her friends, if she does then he gives her a hard time. There's no trust at all and he's so suffocating. Why would you want to be with a guy like that? Oh yeah, he has money and he's ~sooo hot~

Didn't like him at all.

The other characters were dumb too, forgot all their names and there were too many minor characters with no characteristics that makes you remember them that they're all a blur. They'll be like 'oh let's tell Trevor, then Alice' and I'm like WHO???

DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE EPILOGUE

SPOILERS but to be fair, I wouldn't even bother with this book. She and Asher have a daughter and she calls it.....................JULY. July Heaven Mayson. JULY. JULY HEAVEN.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

just...just....ugh and another thing is that she has another FOUR daughters randomly and you know she'll call them fucking March, April, May and June.

The way the epilogue is written isn't good either, it's so rushed. We hardly know anything and what I've also noticed about this whole book is - and a lot of other people have put this in their review - is that she tells and doesn't show. She fast forwards parts of the book and then she tells us what we've missed. YOU SHOULD BE SHOWING US, WE'RE YOU. Show us when it happens to you. There's all this fuss about her water breaking and everyone's like 'OH NO, HER WATER BROKE' and they're fussing over her for about 3 pages then it says '9 hours later, I had a daughter called July Heaven'

....................instead of all that shit about people repeating 100 times that you're water broke, atleast make it interesting and give us a birth scene. So boring. She kept skipping parts that she could of made the book more interesting with and leaving us with boring parts.

16 years later I have 5 daughters and Asher's lyk sooooooo overprotective

Overkill on the protective father shit, it's him shouting at his daughter about a guy she's seeing and November's laughing. Dumb.

OH. And it took her THREE MONTHS to realise that she's pregnant. THREE MONTHS. It took her that long to see that she hadn't had a period, she's getting fat and she was sick when she smelt paint on Asher (although she's only sick ONCE when she finds out she's pregnant which I find odd but what do I know? I've never been pregnant). If that were me, I'd notice after I've not had a period for one month let alone three.

I really can't be bothered to waste my time with this book anymore so I can't be fucked to finish reviewing it as I have a few more points. I really hated it and I was so close to giving up around half way but decided to give it another go. Wish I hadn't.

1 star. I want my money back. I'm in a reading rut because of so many bad books, if anyone has any good recommendations, please let me know. Thank you!

'Until November' has been sitting on my TBR for what seems like forever. I'd been meaning to start this series, but just never quite got around to it. When the audiobook went on sale, I decided to take the plunge with this one.

November has left New York City and headed south to live with her father following a brutal attack. She can't escape the feeling that she's being watched and hunted. Even when she arrives in her father's town, the eerie feeling hangs with her.

Glad to have her in his life, November's father arranges to have her work at the club that he owns with his brother. He wants November to manage the bookkeeping and financial side of the operation, steering clear of the club during the nighttime. He may own a strip club, but he won't have his daughter hanging around during the busy hours (hypocritical much?).

When November first meets Asher Mayson, he is a total asshat. He's rude, presumptive and completely out of line. In fact, he's pretty much a domineering jerk for most of the book. Luckily, I love an a$$hole and Asher really grew on me.

It turns out that despite being a jerk, Asher is quite the Alpha-male protector as well. That comes in handy when the threats against November start to escalate. It quickly becomes clear that her fears weren't unfounded. Somebody is out to get her.

Along with Asher, comes a bevy of sexy brothers. Each of them is instantly willing to protect November as one of their own. It seems that Asher wasn't the only one that had a bad case of "insta-love" when he met November. His brothers are equally taken with her, but in an entirely platonic way.

Despite the rapid pace with which November and Asher's relationship progressed, I enjoyed this story. Yes, the timeline was a little unbelievable. They had like one date and then they're moving in together. From that point forward, it's family planning and HEAs.

To enjoy this story, you have to be able to overlook the insta-love. It wasn't an issue for me this time. On another day, it might have been a problem. I can be a moody reader like that.

This book introduces a robust cast of supporting characters. I'm sure that most of them will get their own books later in the series. Aside from Asher's sexy siblings, there's a brief mention of November's cousins. Her crazy mother and ex-fiancé also play an important role in this book. (Let's just say her mother won't be getting any "mother of the year" awards anytime soon.)

Eventually, everything comes to light and the mystery surrounding the attacks against November is solved. I can't say I was terribly surprised with the way it worked out. However, it was still shocking in a "how terrible" sort of way.

Although this book is the first in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone. It doesn't leave you hanging with any unanswered questions about November and Asher. It will leave you curious about some of the secondary characters and pave the way for their books.

Overall, this was a good book for me. It was entertaining if you're in the mood for an over-the-top, controlling Alpha-male type of story. If not, pass on this one until you are. This is the type of story that could swing one way or the other for me, depending upon my mood.

I listened to the Audible version and I have to say that I do not recommend the audio. For me, the narration was terrible. I could barely stand Asher's voice. If you're considering the audiobook, listen to the sample. This was one of those times when I wished that I had. I think that I would've liked the book more if I had read it versus listened to the audiobook. Then again, I listen to everything at 2x - 3x speed, so maybe it isn't so bad at the normal rate.

4-4.5 Asher Lovin’ Stars!

 photo 2f9b819b-f7a4-468c-8a47-3966257d7bbf_zps064bbe5b.jpg

This was such an amazingly fun read! I enjoyed it thoroughly! Funny, sexy, and exactly my type of NA read!

The story starts with twenty five year old November moving from her hometown of NYC to live in the south with her father. November isn’t leaving much... her mother is a mess and never really cared for her, and she has an ex-fiancée who, well... it’s a long story. Anyway, November didn’t even know who her father was until she was eighteen. Now she knows him, she wants to spend more time with him. To have a parent who actually loves her and cares about her is something new for her. There was an incident in NY that caused November to move quickly, so theres a little suspense there.

Then there is Asher Mayson. Asher is the oldest of the four Mayson brothers. They are all good looking guys, and, well, players. When Asher first sets his eyes on November, he knows. Knows she is something special. He is drawn to her beauty, but when he meets her, it’s over. Not only is she beautiful, she is funny, down to earth, and quirky. He is instantly smitten with her, although he doesn’t show it the normal way. Asher is an alpha male, he’s brash, overprotective and a little gruff. I loved how things went down on their first date...
“I realized yesterday that I needed to stake my claim before some stupid fuck got to you. That’s why I did what you called ‘kidnapping’. I like to call that ‘securing my future.’ We’re going to see where this goes, November, and while we’re doing that, it’s not going to be casual.”

I am a complete sucker for an alpha male that can make me swoon, and let me tell you- I was in an ASHER FOG the entire time I was reading! Loved this guy! And damn, was he hot!

 photo dabd21bb-9bec-401b-85a9-37b8ac87ceeb_zps0753db0b.jpg

Asher and November had some amazing chemistry. I loved them together. It is the best feeling for me to love both of the main characters. Of course I loved Asher and his alpha male goodness, who wouldn’t? But I also loved November. She was spunky, funny and sweet. An all around great character, someone you could see yourself being friends with. It was nice to see her befriending Liz, sticking up for herself with the town hussies, and coming into her own.

Asher and November’s relationship progresses rather quickly. He knows November is it for him... it’s that Mayson curse that hit his father, his grandfather, and it’s finally took hold of him.
“So the Mayson curse is real. Fall in love on sight and all that bullshit.

As happy as November is with Asher and their families, things aren’t perfect for her. Her relationship with her mother is awful, and that incident that happened to her in NY is following her. It gave the element of suspense to the story. Asher knows all about what happened to November, and he won’t let anything touch her again. She is his and he will take care of her, no matter what. He knows November is it for him.
“If you left me, I would never be able to find another you. Someone who fills my life with the beauty only you give me.”

 photo 1703543f-3ccb-4d31-8906-796a10fbbee5_zpsc9d75d6f.jpg

Until November is a fantastic debut novel that incorporates humor, steam, romance and suspense. You will fall in love with Asher and November, along with many of the secondary characters. You will laugh, smile and swoon throughout the story. My only real complaint is that there were times that the timeline jumped ahead too quickly and things felt a bit rushed. I wanted this book to last! The ending was wonderful and I absolutely adored the epilogue! I am so excited that Asher’s younger brother Trevor is getting his own story and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!

***4.5 STARS***

Reread 4/13/21 upgraded from 4 STARS TO 4.5 STARS

I’ve been feeling a little melancholic after recently reading ARR’s most recent release. So I wanted to go back to where it started and OMG it was even crazier and loving than I remember.

First of all the hero Asher is BEYOND possessive/controlling. He is an alpha caveman. Some things he does might cause the reader to say “Wait a minute” but he is not abusive and he just loves November. The “boom” started with him so many years ago. November grew up in an emotionally and physically abusive home with her mother and has just found her father in Tennessee. She also learns about love and family from Asher and the Mayson clan.

I love ARR’s writing style. The book just flows and the dialogue is apropos and real. I don’t know how well this book would be received today instead of 2013 but I love it.

I must say I really liked this one…. Went in with a bit of trepidation as it has a lot of good reviews and the last book I read that had a lot of good reviews was a bit of a let-down for me. But I was pleasantly surprised. Yeah, he was a bit OTT Alpha but I did not mind. Saw a review that said it was kinda like KA – yes, a little bit.

“When he tears his mouth from mine, he moves his lips near my ear and whispers, “You’re mine. Every inch of you belongs to me. From your sweet mouth to your even sweeter pussy and when I want it, you better give it to me.”

”When it happens …. BOOM!”

“She looks like a fucking wet dream sitting on that bike. Her legs are covered in tight denim with black boots laced up to mid-calf. She has a leather jacket on and it’s zipped up half way, showing off a good amount of cleavage.”

AND, we got an Epilogue, SEVENTEEN YEARS LATER! Sweet.

It tried to be. It tried.
description
Quick, fluffy NA-like read with formulaic plot that drew out a couple of smiles and a lot of eye rolls. Writing typically without polish of editing or much development, but not without potential.

Some readers will luv the romance between the H/h. It's sugary sweet with a token dose of caveman.

Until November is book one in the Until series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. This series has been out for quite awhile. I recently read Until Susan by C.P. Smith and met Susan and James Mayson, the matriarch and patriarch of the Mayson clan. I fell in love with them. So there was no question I would read this book about their oldest son, Asher. I love this family so much! It was so much fun experiencing “The Boom” with James and Susan. Now I got to watch the same thing happen to their son!

November Armsted grew up in New York with her mother and never got to know her father until after she turned eighteen. Now twenty four, she’s been planning to move to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to get to know him better but her plans got moved up when she was attacked. A stray great dane saved her that night and has become her constant companion. She named her new dog Beast. She and Beast couldn’t get out of New York fast enough to start a new life with a new family.

Asher Mayson is twenty seven years old. He and his three brothers own a successful construction company. He and his family are close. It’s on a night when he’s doing a favor for his friend Mike at Mike’s strip club, checking out a new employee, when he first sees her. He mistakenly thinks she’s with the older man, Mike, the club owner, and that she’s a stripper there at the club. Well, let’s just say Asher didn’t make a very good first impression. Because she was Mike’s daughter! But Asher is a very determined man. He knew as soon as he touched her. It happened. The Boom! And he knew that he would do whatever it took to convince her to give him another chance. Because she was the one.

“We’re going to see where this goes, November, and while we’re doing that, it’s not going to be casual.”

Asher is used to women falling all over him. He definitely hasn’t been a saint up until now. But he has just been waiting until he met the right woman. And he knows November is it! But she fights him every step of the way. He does have a very effective weapon though, his lips. Because every time he touches her with them, she’s lost. So he uses this tactic often.

“It’s amazing to know that my purpose in life is sitting in front of me.”

These two fall hard for each other. But danger has also followed November to Tennessee. Asher and his dad who is the sheriff will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

I loved this book. November was an independent, strong woman. Well, strong except when it came to Asher’s lips. I loved her “Asher fog!” This was the perfect mix of sweetness, sexy times, and suspense. I really do love this family. The next book in the series is Asher’s brother Trevor’s book and November’s friend Liz in Until Trevor.

5 ASHER FOG STARS!!

By the end of the first chapter I was completely HOOKED!

When the book starts off we are introduced to November and her savior "Beast". She's been through a world of shit and is leaving the big city moving to Tennessee to live with her dad. A dad that she didn't know growing up with due to the most heinous bitch of a mom. November nearly lost her life, and if it hadn't been for a stray dog saving her.. she would have. Beast is all she has right now. She needs a fresh new start and she can't get that living in constant fear of what may happen next.. so her and Beast are getting the hell out...

Asher Asher Asher *dreamy lustful sigh*.. ok, I drooled quite a bit over Asher. He's my favorite type of book boyfriend. Total alpha and possessive. Takes not shit and goes after what he wants. When he lays eyes on November he wants her right away but holds back at first due to a "slight" misunderstanding.. but once that's cleared up, and it clears up pretty quick, he's not going to let anything keep him from November. Not even November herself.

November never stood a chance against Asher, and honestly..she never really put up too much of a fight. Hell, I would have rolled over and asked him to rub my hoohah the first time I met him! Asher is just sex on a stick. And a very talented stick at that... ;)

“You’re mine. Every inch of you belongs to me. From your sweet mouth to your even sweeter pussy and when I want it, you better give it to me.”

“I love this pussy, baby. So pink, wet, and mine.” He growls the words against my clit, making my pulse race. He licks me from top to bottom. “Jesus, so fucking sweet,” he says, licking me again. This time, his tongue circles my clit, not making contact. I whimper.

They were so freaking hot together! Aurora knows how to write some seriously steamy sexy times and she doesn't skimp on the details..the scenes between Asher and November where sexy..not dirty. You felt the connection they had. It was more than just sex with these two from the first time.

As Asher and November are falling deep.. it becomes obvious that the shit November left behind has followed her to Tennessee. Asher's not about to let anything come between what's his, and November is definitely HIS.

This book was so easy to read and I didn't want to put it down. It was fast paced with no drag time at all and there was ZERO angst. I loved it.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series with Trevor. Aurora has introduced us to plenty of sexy alpha's in this first book and there is tons of potential for an excellent series. I am soooo looking forward to the ride. Aurora hit a home run, in my opinion, with this first book. What a way to throw it down girl!! You've got a fan in me and I can't wait to see what you give us next!!

I think I just fell head over heels in complete LUST with Asher James Mayson. He is all hot alpha-male and complete caveman.

I remember seeing a quote of this posted on Facebook and it took about 0.2 seconds for some one-click action to occur. No reading anything about the book, not checking out the author… nada just this one quote…

”Don’t tell me to pack my shit. It’s rude.”
“It’s rude? he asks, tilting his head to the side. “Baby, I promise you when I get you in my bed, I’ll show you how much you like me being rude.” That made me tingle in a couple different spots. I definitely wanted him to show me how rude he could be. “Just for that look right there, I’m going to make you beg me to be rude to you.”

Seriously, see what I mean? Yep… he just made a goddamn adjective hot. How hot you ask?

”Fuck, your pussy is as beautiful as you are.”

“And as sweet as your mouth.”

November is leaving the big city for a small town life. After twenty five years of living with her mother she is going to meet the father she never knew for the first time. The father that she never knew wanted her. After suffering an attack her and her hero, Beast, the massive Great Dane are ready to for a fresh start.

When November accompanies her father to get a run through her new job at the strip club he owns, she meets Asher Mayson. But Asher puts his sexy foot in his mouth and November instantly knows that he is the type of boy that might make your toes curl, but he has heart break etched all over him.

But what November didn’t see was the determination in Asher’s eyes.

”I realized yesterday that I needed to stake my claim before some stupid fuck got to you. That’s why I did what you called ‘kidnapping.’ I like to call that ‘securing my future.’ We’re going to see where this goes, November, and while we’re doing that, it’s not going to be casual.”

When something happens that places November in danger, Asher is not going to back down – he is going to be the one to protect her. And in the perfect caveman style, he hauls her to his house where he has no intention of allowing her to escape.

Although Asher is a complete alpha-male, November is not a complete push over… unless he uses his mouth to put her in an Asher Fog. But who can seriously resist a man like Asher? November learns the hard way that the Mayson men have a way of getting what they want and knowing when to stake their claim.

But there is still something that November must be protected from and just when they both find their bliss, both Asher and November are at risk of losing everything.

I am seriously impressed with Aurora Rose Reynolds’s ability to give you both sexy off the charts mixed in with the perfect balance of humor. November was such a lovable heroine that was completely relatable and utterly adorable without even a trace of being annoying. It is rare these days to come across a heroine that is written to be anything that resembles a functioning, mature adult – but November, even with her hang ups on having a crap mother was every bit a grown ass woman with a backbone.

Asher had a great balance of the dirty boy and a romantic. He could have you panting one moment and melting the next. A great new addition to the long list of book boyfriends. And beyond the great looks, dirty mouth and soft heart when it comes to November, we don’t have to face down the angst of a reforming playboy. Asher is a man that knows what he wants, what is worth fighting for and when he finds it all bullshit stops. No angst, no drama. The single women’s lady bits are mourning the loss of the single Asher Mayson.

Dear Asher:

”If you left me, I would never be able to find another you. Someone who fills my life with the beauty that only you give me.”

“It’s amazing,” he whispered, “to know that my purpose in life is sitting in front of me.”

I can’t believe that this is her first novel… I don’t think there was one thing about this story that I did not absolutely love. A completely well written and executed love story. The dirty talk, sexiness and humor never felt forced, everything just fit perfectly. The only people that might love this book more than those reading it, might be the ones that get to enjoy the after effect of reading this.

Having fed up with today's creepy romance tropes, I have been checking the books published between 2012-2016, hoping I could find better romance books but alas, I have come across another disaster!

This is the 2nd book I have tried from this author and it is once again a DNF! I think I have had enough of her writing and I’m never trying again.

***********************************************

DNF after the first 3 chapters! (Yeah, it is that bad!)

I know this book has a high rating but you should really check 1-star reviews before buying this book. It is just so bad that I cannot even find words to describe it.

***

If you love alpha-males or if you love obsessive - possessive - dominant men and believe that this book will deliver it, please be forewarned that the writer has a twisted understanding of these concepts as she has created a creepy, over the top and overbearing caveman, instead.

***

When he first sees the heroine, he thinks she is a stripper and behaves rudely towards her. He acts like a total as*hole. He thinks that she is sleeping with the old man he saw her with in the club. As she called her "daddy", he assumes that he is her "sugar daddy".

When he understands she is the daughter of the owner of the strip club and she’s only doing the books there, he doesn’t even apologize to her – at all!

***

The second time he sees her, he says, “Meet me at the bar tonight,” and he doesn’t say it is a date, he just says, “for beer and playing pools” and the stupid heroine agrees to it.

Wouldn't you expect an apology first from the guy who humiliated you because of his assumptions? This one doesn’t because he is soooooo hot!

Yayyy, another spineless heroine who has no self-respect!

***

In the bar where they meet, she shakes a guy’s hand and he gets all jealous and totally acts like he owns her. Then, his past hook-ups come to the bar and hit on him and she gets jealous and wants to leave the bar. The hero then steals her car keys and her phone and carries her to his car, not letting her go.

Is this supposed to be hot – to turn us on or something like that? Because it is totally creepy and borderline pscho behavior.

Despite her mild resistance, she is all OK with it– wait for it – yes, OK with it all because he is hot! On the day of their first ridiculous date, he starts to say things like, “I am not letting you go out of my sight.”

***

I am really fed up with these heroines who lose all sense at the sight of a hot guy. Why do authors create heroines that lack any sign of character or self-respect?

So, what's the message here? When the guy is too hot, he can do whatever he likes and women should be OK with it??? What kind of a messed-up romance world does this writer live in?

***

These were one of the most frustrating first chapters of a romance book and I cannot continue to read the book to see how worse it will get because it is already bad enough to cause me to want to crash my kindle on the wall!

***

Look… I am OK with insta-love if I can feel it but the writer doesn't even bother to write a dialogue to make us feel the insta-attraction. Also, I am not against an alpha-male and I can even love him if his obsessive/possessive behavior is within certain limits but not reaching creepy levels. This hero, though, was the type of guy all women should stay away no matter how hot he is.

I don’t care about the rest of the story or if he protects the girl later from the bad guys or what... she needed to protect herself from guys like the hero who wouldn’t let her make her own choices.

***

OK, here are some more detailed reviews from readers who managed to read more or all of the book. They might give you a better idea about how bad it is:

Re-read: 22. 11. 2016

I don't know what up with me lately but I seem to only read books that I've already read and found to be amazing. I guess it's just a phase but trusth is this story is one of my long time favourites. I simply love the alpha hero and the non-bullshit heroine that fit perfectly together. There is just the right amount of drama and even some action. Of course the romance is beautiful and even if this is a insta love/lust type of story, I still enjoy every page.
Beside from the main characters I loved their families, with the exception of November's mom but that's one pretty obvious as to why I really disliked her. She never was a mother to her and never will be! And is it weird that I liked, even just a bit, November's ex? I don't know, I kinda felt sorry for him at the end. He was being used but on the other hand he knew what the end game was, so... I dunno.
Anyway, it was quite refreshing re-reading their story again and I think it won't be the last time this happens. :)

Re-read again 20th - 21st September 2019.

Loved the story and wow all the characters were fantastic.
November has a mother no one would want and her childhood leaves a lot to be desired her one relationship failed and after being attacked she leaves New York and heads for Tennessee to live with her father and it's here she meets Asher, who is gods gift to women along with his three brothers. As attraction and romance blooms has November actually left her trouble behind and can she find the happy ending she deserves.
I gave four stars since I didn't like the bit with her mum I personally thought it was silly and didn't fit in with the rest of the book, to be honest the book didn't need it the characters and romance were more than enough. I enjoyed this so much I'll be looking for the other books in this series.
I'm changing my rating to 5 stars since I've re-read this book many times and I love it more each time, it's become one of my go-to books and while I still think the bit with her mum is overkill I love this book.

Okay. First of all--- ASHER. Go fuck yourself . The guy was a total controlling douchy creep. The insta love was sooo cringe worthy and I'm very confused on why the fuck everyone likes this. I'm not usually this mean in reviews but this is not something I'd recommend to ANYONE. I don't understand, the heroine with a stupid name (December, November, June, whatever), was a submissive boring little girl who only cared about her oh so loving creep of a boyfriend who tries to kidnap her on their first date. AND DID I MENTION THAT THEY MOVE IN TOGETHER AFTER LITERALLY ONLY KNOWING EACH OTHER FOR A COUPLE HOURS ????? Yeah. I know, you're welcome. Don't waste your money and time on this one, it's not worth it. AND ALSO---- SLUT SHAMING IS REALLLL ON THIS ONE. The males in this treat women as 1) A sexual object or 2) A reproducing tool. Nice.

3.5 Cute with a side of cheese stars

Until November is my first book by Aurora Rose Reynolds and I enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect but it was a good read. I liked November, I liked Asher, I liked November's dad and Asher's whole family. I did feel like this book was a bit cheesy at times. Asher was a bit much at times. His caveman act was a little too forced and ott. Still Asher had his moments that made me not only like him but overlook most of his behaviors.

November was sweet, and I felt bad for her past. I hated her mom! I would have liked to know what happened to that bitch in the end. Did she rot in prison? Anyways I liked the plot and I think the insta-love worked well in this book. I would have liked more details in the story. It would jump a month here and a month there. I needed that time to see Asher and November's connection grow. Overall not a bad read and I will read the next one and see if I like it enough to continue with this series!

November is moving to Tennessee to stay with her father. That is because she had just been attacked in New York, where she formerly lived with her terrible and mean mother. She's looking to start new at her twenty-five years of age with the dog that saved her life. For the first time in her life, she feels loved and wanted by the family she had never met. Her dad is an amazing and caring man. Nothing like the mother that spent her whole life puting her down. Her father employs November to work on the books of the business he is co-owner of, a strip club. This is were she meets the sinfully sexy and big jerk, Asher Mayson.

November had a rough childhood. She grew up believing no one wanted her, including her dad, only to discover the contrary. Her mother was keeping her away from him and was always making sure November felt bad about herself. It was horrible. The woman is a total bitch. I'm so glad November is the opposite. She is kind and considering what she went through, quite secure and high spirited. I really liked her. She didn't let people walk all over her, which was entertaining to see when she wasn't fawning over Asher like every woman in town. But she definitely was attracted to him, and I don't blame her one bit. Asher was freaking hot and persistent. I was in an Asher fog right along with her.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

“It's amazing", he whispered, "to know that my purpose in life is sitting in front of me.”

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Asher is the oldest of the Mayson brothers and just as much a player as they all seem to be. This is probably because they are all REALLY hot looking guys. Asher sees November for the first time at her father's club while checking out the security, and he automatically assumes things about her that are wrong. After behaving like a total ass towards her, he realizes his error and just walks away. The thing is, he really is interested in her. He isn't going to give up until November is his.

Asher is a total Alpha. I am talking about him being a freaking caveman. I would be lying if I said I didn't love it. He made my panties incinerate. Asher is quite successful in what he does. He is possessive, tenacious, domineering, and very protective. I freaking LOVED him. He did at times become a little too much I will admit, but then he would work that charm of his and I was instantly in the Asher fog. I really didn't want to get out of it. He knows that November is the one and is determined to make her see it. He could also be really sweet at times and had me swooning hard. Oh, and I forgot to mention, he had a dirty mouth which was really HOT!

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"Your're mine. Every inch of you belongs to me. From your sweet mouth to your even sweeter pussy and when I want it, you better give it to me."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

The chemistry between these two characters is undeniable and scorching. They fell in love quite fast, well, at least on Asher's side. November resisted a bit with her heart due to the experience she had with her ex-fiancé. Yes, it was a bit too fast for me, but for some reason, I felt like it worked for them. The pace could have gone a lot quicker, so I'm glad it went on at a steady pace, or I wouldn't have liked it. Not that I have ever had an issue with insta-love. But there have been a few cases where it has bothered me. Here, I actually liked it. Their relationship was an entertaining one to read. As well as the relationships they had with their family members. I really liked all the characters.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"Happy is not the word I would use to describe how I feel, baby."

"I know," I whisper. "This is bliss."

"Yeah," he says, walking towards me. "This is bliss." His hands frame my face and he softly kisses my nose then my lips.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

The whole book was really great, but it was not perfect. There were a few things that I didn't like about it. One major one being, that I would have liked there to have been some indication that time had passed. You start reading that they are in one place and then suddenly they are at another location and you didn't even know how they got there. I thought I was miss read, but then realized that the book is just like that. That was the only major thing, otherwise I loved both main characters a LOT! The ending was really awesomely sweet. The epilogue had me smiling and laughing at Asher's predicament. But it was really great. I really enjoyed it. And I am so looking forward to all the future books in this series. I can't freaking wait for Trevor's book. I recommend this book to people who love Alpha males.

This book is all about ASHER!!!!

Why Asher?

1. He is alpha

2. He is such a caveman

3. He is simply delicious

 photo 7880135.gif

"You need to kiss me. All night you slept cuddled into me. You can't do that to a man without at least kissing him"

"Kiss me"
"Nope"
"Okay, then, I'm going to kiss you"

"Yeah, she is mine"

This man was making go haywire!

The story was interesting but a small cheesy twist in it. My only complain was everything was moving on the last lane - meeting to having a kid! Well, I wish it slowed down wee bit thenI would be able to enjoy further his caveman style.

Happy reading

Okay, this one was loaned to me. I kept seeing it show up on my feeds. Comparisons to Kristen Ashley abounded. I was hopeful it was the good of Ms. Ashley, but I was wrong. I've fallen off the Kristen Ashley fan wagon. It's bad enough when the author herself tells the same story. Its is just that much worse when someone replicates that same story. I'm not a fan of this one. Absolutely nothing unique, but then, maybe that wasn't the intent.

You may like this one just fine. It wasn't for me.

Happy Reading!!

I really liked this one. It was on my tbr list for a while. There was definitely some Kristen Ashley influence throughout, i.e., some of Asher's behavior/lingo (there are numerous "chin lifts" and a scene where he demands "Eyes" like several KA alphas do). Make of that what you will.

I really liked November. She had a fun personality and acted with sense and reason. I also really liked Asher, aka the former player who is suddenly punched by Cupid and subsequently becomes all possessive alpha male - not gonna lie, I'm a sucker for that.

Overall, the story really flowed well, I devoured it in one sitting, and have already started Until Trevor...so that's always a yay in my book.

4 Destined Stars

After a tragic event, November moves from NY to Tennessee to live with her father, whom she had only met a few years ago thanks to her bitch of a mother. She is broken and trying to get over the past and start again.
She starts working in her father strip clubs, doing the books and only going there during the day, but one day she gets late and only leaves the club late in the night.
And that’s when she meets Asher, he sees her leaving the club and make the wrong assumptions, so their relationship doesn’t start on the best terms.
But life keeps getting on the way and they meet each other again and things starts to change.

description

Mayson’s men have a curse: when they fall, they fall hard and nothing can keep them from getting what they want. And Asher wants November and even if she is still broken, he is destined to fight for her and heal her.

description

Rating: 4 Stars.
Storyline: Pretty good. But if you don’t like insta-love and relationships progressing at the speed of light, this is not for you. Because they fall hard, quick and their relationships grows rather fast. Yeah, awesome!!
Writing Style: Dual POV (but mostly female). Completely addictive. I’ve started reading this when I got to bed (yeah, always a bad idea) and well, let just say I that I woke up pretty grumpy due to lack of sleep. But I just couldn’t put it down.
Character Development: Asher puts the A in Alpha, so basically I loved him. November was pretty good either and didn’t annoyed me, which believe me, it’s hard.
The supportive character was great, I can’t wait to read his brother’s books. But my favorite of them all? Beast! Best dog-character ever.
Steam: Hot.

I read this book after a really angsty 5 book series and let me tell you, this was exactly what I needed to balance it out. I'm really into the bossy alpha men who go after what they want and Asher was perfection. November was a bit of a ditz but she was genuinely a nice person who didn't take too many things seriously. They complimented each other perfectly. I loved that the drama in this book was outside of the relationship and we got to see so much of the book with them together. I never get tired of reading about a couple getting to know each other and having fun together. I can see myself re-reading this one a lot.

I love this story and it's one of my most re-read books so of course I also had to add it to my audio re-reads. It was just as good as reading it, though I do have to say that it took a little bit of time to get into the narrator's voice since she just sounds a lot older than I imagine this character.

“You are mine, November.
Until the day you leave this earth, you are mine.”

(Ohhhhh stop it) Swoon....
description

The story begins when November has an accident and decides to move in with her father in Tennessee. Her father owns a strip club and he hire November to....
(OHHH don't be pervs she is his daughter lol)do the books and let the story begin...
In the same day Asher is in the club to check some stuff and when he sees November he thinks the same thing (with you) that she works there and fuck Big Mike(her father, Ewwwww) so when November leaves he follows her and tells her that she needs an escort when she leaves the club but he's being a dick with attitude because he wants her and he's pissed that she has a relationship with an old man. But November has sass and gives back as good as she gets!
Of course the joke is on him when Big Mike finds them and introduces her as his baby girl and November laughs in his face!

The next time they meet, November is visiting with her dog(Beast)an elderly day care and meets Asher's gran! They visit at the same day and BOOM Asher asks her out without actually giving her an option you know to decline!

"Meet me tonight."
"What?"
"You,me,tonight,beer,a game of pool?"
"Um....."
"It's just a beer."
"You're kind of a jerk."
"I can be but it's still just a beer,November."

This is how their love story begin with her moving in in Asher's house because someone breaks in her apartment so he steps up and we have an ALPHA MALE who doesn't take no as an answer and protect what's his.....

"Asher you are not going to boss me into moving in with you."
"There will be no bossing baby. You want to move in.Don't you love feeding
me breakfast in bed every morning?Don't you like lazing on the couch
watching movies at night?Don't you love cooking in my kitchen?
Don't you love me fucking you whenever you need to be fucked?"

We slowly see how their relationship grows and fall in love!
November has some insecurites(and for that we can blame her mother who is a BICH)but Asher is there to chase her worries away and shows her that she is IT for him!!!"His BOOM"

"You're mine.Every inch of you belongs to me.From your sweet
mouth to your even sweeter pussy and when I want it you
better give it to me!"

Then we have a "little" surprise.....
I mean they were fucking like bunnies, so no surprise there!
description
description

"I've wanted to see you wearing nothing but my ring since I bought it for you.Knowing that, like the ring I put on your finger, I'm the only one.The only one who will ever see you in nothing but my ring. The only one who will wake up to your beautiful face every day for the rest of my life. The only one who will make love to you.I can't tell you how happy I am that you are carrying my child."

BUT then our "little" surprise is in danger....and the past knocks on Asher&November's door!
But Beast saves the day one more time!
We have the HEA for these two because they deserve it!

Ok, so this was a weird one!

I have seen so many good reviews from friends and groups I am in about this series.

But,there was just something that about this book that I did not connect to!

November - did not get her, she was a bit too "kooky" or she was meant to be. I am not sure. All the jumping up and down and clapping her hands! She was a bit daft too -

The insta love!? No. She is moved in within like 2 days of meeting this guy! And we get introduced to loads of ppl near the start, that are pretty much never mentioned again!

It was a weird mix of past and present tense! It even changed within a sentence. It was missing punctuation in points.

The writing is very disjointed and jumps all over the place. Not only do we have time jumps, when all of a sudden, it is a certain length of time ahead, then we get the case of the character giving us a run down of what has happened, etc, just telling us...ok, I do not mind that, and when done well, is ok. It was not done well here!

And that is almost constant! When it does not need to be. You do not need to jump ahead half an hour, then go back telling us what happened. For example

It just makes for a jarring and disjointed read, that constantly pulls you out of the story and you are constantly having to readjust your thinking as to what and when something is happening! There was one point I thought I had been missing a chapter...all of a sudden, Trevor and Liz are like best friends, whereas they had not even met just the page before. It just jumped ahead, and it was like "Oh Liz and Trev are tight" and I am just like "since when!?

Character development is poor! As awful as November's background is, you would expect more from that..how it truly affected her. Did not seem to bother her all that much in all honesty! She seemed more bothered by her Mom sleeping with her finance than any other abuse she suffered as a child!

And, why, why in some books, does our h have to have nearly every man make a play for her, because she is so different! This town she moved to, weird. Other than her and Liz, it seems every other girl is a slut! A whiny slut. The men are sluts too, but apparently that is ok, because they are MEN! And they can call the other women, bitches and sluts, and treat them like crap, because they are bitches and sluts. The men do not think of themselves as sluts, oh no, because they are MEN! They are never ever going to have a relationship with any of these women they have been sleeping with, because they think they are too good for them, they will wait for the sweet, innocent non slut girl to come along. It is all a bit weird and misogynistic and quite frankly happens far too often in books. It is all rather sad tbh! It just puts me off an author.

However, I have already bought the next 2 in the series, and shall give them a go and see if it improves!

I was in a book slump. Nothing was singing to me and I just wasn't rushing home to crack my Kindle open. Until I met one Asher..and was lost in the fog..

"Oh my God, seriously? Asher. Why did this guy have to have a hot guy name? Why couldn't his name be Urkel or Poindexter. I mean really, something's just were not fair."

Not just the name was hot, the attitude, body and let's not forget about the brothers.. I know I am not because I see follow up hot guy stories!

Welcome to the hot guy motherload! All equipped with hot guy names and ready for their close-ups!

The story begins with November moving from New York to live with her dad after a brutal attack has taken place. Saving her was none other than Beast a Great Dane that was at the right place at the right time. Beast grabbed my heart too, you know a book is good when you actually care about their pets too.

November has been raised by one of the worst mothers in the history of all book mothers. She wasn't made to feel worthy or to give trust unconditionally. Always in a position to defend herself and worth at the drop of a hat. She is still caring and willing to put her heart on the line. I loved watching November become part of a loving family and bond with her dad. She reaches out to others that she sees herself in and with that finds true friendships.

"What did I tell you, son?" he says, looking at Asher. "When it happens-BOOM!"

Asher has always been a "no need to know your name, you aren't sticking around" type of guy. His parents had always warned him he held the curse and when "The One" entered his life, he would know without a shadow of a doubt. He is alpha in every sense of Tara's definition and isn't afraid to show it..ever!

"But if any motherfucker touches you, I will not be happy"

I think their first meeting is one of my favs in a book. A miscommunication leads to a very unhappy Asher, who isn't concerned with the who, what or why. Just the YOU ARE MINE and you don't know it yet.. It wasn't insta-love but it was a connection that could not be ignored and for that I say thank the alpha Gods!

I am an epilogue loving girl and this one delivered full force for me.. I love to see in the future of a couple that I have fallen head over heels for. This one is up high on my all time favorites!

I cannot wait for the next book and to dive deeper into Trevor's story.

** 4.5 stars **

I enjoyed this romance so much! There was a possessive, crazy in love hero and a likable strong heroine. The story reminded me of Kristen Ashley in a good way, there was a nice long story told but no major misunderstandings. The story was sexy and sweet and fun to read. I am excited for the hero's brother's story that comes out next.

Just a warning, there were some editing issues with word usage and misspellings in case that bothers you.

Well, that was a really sweet and lovely story......

But for me to be honest with you, until the middle i wasn't so sure what i was feeling...

That story was having a very good basis but until the middle it was a little bit flat for me!!!

I might say that the thing that annoyed me very much was that Asher's and November's relation was running very fast and i didn't like the fact that from the very first moment he started to call her baby!!! For God's shake!!! It's too early, buddy! Calm down!!!!

Yes, in some point i learned about the "curse" that follow the Masons men... What was that??? They were players and men-whores until the time that met the one and only woman for them... And with the first look, they just know!!!

Hmmmmm.... Okay!!! I'll try to accept it!!! But that's weird man!!!!

But let me talk to you about the plot....
November is a girl with a little bit fucked up life... She is moving from New York and go to live with her father for first time in her life, after an attack against her life. You see, her mother was a ruthless bitch who take her away from her father and never aloud her to see him... She doesn't have anything to hold her back there, since her shitty mother didn't ever treat her well and since she caught her fiancee to bed with another woman. Guess who??? That bitch who was calling herself a mother!!!

Oh, yes, i'm not kidding you!!!
So her baggages have many shitty things inside which were unbearable and made her with low self-confidence...

So, she is starting this new life and in some point meet Asher Mason. And their first meeting wasn't good. There was a misunderstanding and the words that they're exchange wasn't really good and all of that were Asher's fault!!!! His assumptions were offensive...

Don't pressure me guys, i can't tell you more...

Well, Asher were cocky and with high confidence. He liked women very much and his life was really good. NO problems and this is strange because lately in all this kind of books, everybody has too much problems. I'd like that he didn't have problems... For once that was refreshing!!!
But he was having other problems... Especially with November...
He was bossy and possesssive. He was soooo jealous with everybody who gets near to her, even his brothers!!!
But i will give him extra points because he really loved her and he was extra caring and protective of her...
Believe me when i'm saying that was for the best, because the attacks didn't stop to New York city, they followed her there...
Somebody is stalking November, who could be???

No, i won't tell you. I already say too much. You have to read it!!!

First of all, i want to say that i really liked the bond between November and Asher and even his bossy attitude, i loved this guys!!!
I liked the November's reactions in that attitude. They were making me laugh every single time...

Secondly, i would liked to talk to you about Beast. He was two times in the road November's savior and the best companion ever... I love him!!!

Third, i really liked the other character... They were all amazing! I won't talk about his brothers because i will talk about them in the next books, but his parents and her father were great!!! So was Liz, but... Later!!!!

And finally, i want to say to Asher that life is a bitch and in one way or another it will be a payback!!! Sorry, man!!! I couldn't stop laughing at the end of this book!!!!

Oh, I forgot to tell you how much i hate her mother. OH!!! I said this already??? Nevermind!!! I still fuckin' HATE her!!!!

See you in the next book....

After a life riddled with lies and neglect, November is moving home to the father she only recently met. He is everything she had wished for in a parent and after being attacked in New York, she has packed up with the dog that saved her and is finally heading home.

It is a blur initially, meeting family members you never new existed. November is slightly anxious but the overwhelming welcome from her family makes her realize she made the right choice. Taking the job at her dad's work though as an accountant was perfect, however he did not tell her it was a strip club. Wanting her protected, he keeps her in the back and working days, but the first night she is introduced she meets Asher Mayson.

After initial awkward meeting, Asher feels like he has been kicked in the gut. The second time he meets November it doesn't go off all that well either, but he gets her to agree to go out for a beer later. He realizes that November is hesitant of him and his prowess is well known in town, but he knows in his gut she is the one. When it looks like November needs protection, he is right by her side, even though she tries to push him away. Nobody will hurt November if Asher has anything to do with it, he plans to cherish her like she deserves now he only has to get her to realize how much she means to him.

I loved, loved, loved this story. It is intense, dramatic, and oozes chemistry with each turn of the page. November is quirky, funny, and I loved the little geeky references made throughout the story. Asher is passion on a stick, broody, and pure alpha man. I stayed up way way way too late with this one,b ut it was so worth it.
