Angie Pangan | 4795 comments *that

message 6102: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes and for that a 'yay' is likely a good response. ;-) Lol.

TPBM has written and posted or blogged social criticism.

message 6103: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I think most of my writing, especially my stories, are social criticism on at least one level.

When TPBM meets the parents of other people, they often feel that they understand that person on a new dimension.

message 6104: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments That seems accurate to me. It's the nurture half of nature vs. nurture.

TPBM lives in a place currently affected by drought.

message 6105: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments By definition, yes. Stage 3 water restrictions, although there is the threat of rain tomorrow!

TPBM has thought that being an apiarist would be a great activity during retirement.

message 6106: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Seeing as how I freak out whenever bees fly around me due to the fear of being stung, that's probably not the best occupation for me.

TPBM wants to see the movie Straight Outta Compton.

message 6107: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No, not really.

TPBM has dreamt that they have gone to movies.

message 6108: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) No, but I do dream sometimes about everyday life.

TPBM has dreamed that they finished an unpleasant chore(like cleaning the gutters) only to wake up and realize it still needs doing "over again".

message 6109: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Lol! No. I haven't dreamt that, although I have dreamt that I have woken up only to realize that I am in another dream.

TPBM has studied dreams and dream analysis.

message 6110: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments On an amueater level. I wrote my tenth grade thesis on it.

TPBM Realizes that most of what they learn in school the won't use in the real world.

message 6111: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes. At 54 I now have the experience to say that too.

TPBM wonders if formal education is more about suppressing individuality than creating socialized human beings.

message 6112: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Of course it's about suppressing individuality. It's about being just smart enough to operate machines and follow orders and just dumb enough to not realize how badly you're being screwed by the top echelon. George Carlin and Roger Waters know this fact all too well.

TPBM wants to read "The Diary of a Teenage Girl" by Phoebe Gloeckner.

message 6113: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope.

TPBM will not enjoy The Day Before You Came by The Real Tuesday Weld.

message 6114: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Nope, I didn't. My music either has to be heavy and grinding or soft and sleepy, few exceptions.

TPBM will only give a one-star rating to books he or she couldn’t finish.

message 6115: by Guy (last edited Aug 14, 2015 11:34PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No. I have given one star ratings to books I have finished. For example I have given 1 star ratings to the highly regarded and critically acclaimed Lord of the Flies and The Giver, both of which I finished. In the case of LotF, I have read it fully three times. And the giver was about a 3 star book until the ending, which ruined it.

TPBM ate supper unusually late tonight, and now their writing and sleeping schedule is screwed up.

message 6116: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments My cheeseburger supper happened around 8:00 this evening and I plan on getting another bite to eat before I go to bed. So yes, Guy, that's 100% true.

TPBM thinks one-word pseudonyms are cool.

message 6117: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Cool ones, yes. But not the uncool ones.

TPBM is puzzled as to whether or not the world 'cool' has become an anachronism in this decade.

message 6118: by Jenn (last edited Aug 15, 2015 07:08AM) (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) I still hear it occasionally, but really I have no idea.

TPBM has stayed awake more than 24 hours straight before.

message 6119: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I have.

TPBM had bacon and eggs with their breakfast this morning.

message 6120: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments No, I have eggs, a croissant, and milk.

TPBM thinks it's useful for authors to study human psychology.

message 6121: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes and no. It depends on the author's psychology and temperament.

TPBM has studied from books more than a little of human psychology.

message 6122: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I've taken entire courses on psychology during my senior year of high school and freshman and sophomore years of college. I originally wanted to be a therapist, but since I suck at solving other people's problems for them, it never panned out.

TPBM was once so tired at night that he or she neglected to shower.

message 6123: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Yes, I have. I've even come home and just lock the front door and sleep where I land.

TPBM is sleepy and has a busy week ahead.

message 6124: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not too bad, sleepy-wise. I had a very busy and satisfying Saturday, and Sunday is promising to be the same.

TPBM enjoys live music, even if it isn't performed 'perfectly'.

message 6125: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Yes, it's just an experience in itself.

TPBM is going to bed soon.

message 6126: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I am. I'm getting ready to log off right now.

TPBM prefers the convenience of electronic flash cards over physical ones.

message 6127: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I didn't know such cards existed and was not a fan of flash cards, so likely indifferent.

TPBM likes to take pictures when they go out and do something out of their normal routine.

message 6128: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I guess, but it really depends on what that activity is.

TPBM knows how and where I can catch some cockroaches without killing them. (My AP Biology teacher assigned everyone to bring 5 in to class on Monday for a lab)

message 6129: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Sorry Angie I do not know either.

TPBM thinks it odd that science kills things to try to figure how they are alive.

message 6130: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) Not at all, you've got to take something apart to see how it works.

TPBM would terrified inside the book they're currently reading.

message 6131: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Considering the main villains are a perverted papparazzo and a bodyguard with a weedwhacker for a hand, yes, that would be terrifying. It also doesn't help matters that the main hero is a naked old man with a few screws loose.

TPBM once put together a picture book on Shutterfly.com and gave it to someone as a gift.

message 6132: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I've never heard of shutterfly.com so no.

TPBM feels like they're boiling in their own sweat because of the heat.

message 6133: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I'm sitting in front of a blowing fan, so no, I can't relate.

TPBM gets carded whenever he or she sees an R-rated movie or buys a CD with an explicit content warning.

message 6134: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. That stopped when I was sixteen. At that age a hall monitor mistook me for a teacher.

TPBM has recently been told that s/he looks younger than s/he is.

message 6135: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I once had a hairstylist ask me if I was excited for school...even though I'm 30 years old. You be the judge. Hehe!

TPBM actually knows a person other than the pop singer named Michael Jackson.

message 6136: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I don't, although I know someone who is Carol King.

TPBM will attend a Shakespeare production before the end of summer this year

message 6137: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I'm not a big Shakespeare fan since I can't understand his characters' dialogue most of the time. The answer is no.

TPBM stays home during Black Friday.

message 6138: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Always. The insanity is too much to take. I'll stay safely tucked away in my home, thank you.

TPBM finds that they can enjoy a well written book even if they can completely predict the ending.

message 6139: by Marie (new)

Marie (naturechild02) Depends on the type of book. If it's a sci-fi or fantasy book, no, I do not want predictable. Well written or not, I will get bored. Other genres, well, I've come to expect predictability and so can only be pleasantly surprised when the ending is not what I expected.

TPBM has already gone over the GR yearly reading challenge expectation.

message 6140: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No, and I don't even know what it is. I'm reading few books right now, but the ones I'm reading are intense and initiating personal change and growth.

TPBM likes to read books with vocabularies bigger than his/her own so that s/he can learn more words.

message 6141: by Marie (new)

Marie (naturechild02) That's exactly why I have such a large vocabulary. When I was in school, I liked to read books a few grades above my own. I learned so many new words. The problem with that is, over time, many have been forgotten since I could not use them in my everyday speech without being teased. Still can't. (I'm surrounded my adults with grade school intelligence. Pfft!)

TPBM wants some cake right NOW!

message 6142: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope! I little earlier I made and ate one too many apricot-blueberry muffins, pretty much eating cake. And so delicious. [And I have not been teased because of my vocabulary, but have been told many times that I use too many big words. I find that my co-workers eventually have their vocabularies expanded despite their resistance.]

TPBM enjoys house painting.

message 6143: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I haven't done it before, but I have a feeling it'll happen in the near future since we as a family are remodeling the house.

TPBM drank a lot of Gatorade throughout the summer.

message 6144: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. Homemade iced tea is my summer beverage of choice.

TPBM has sailed with a friend or friends this summer.

message 6145: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I would have loved to go sailing, but it just never happened. I love being on the water. It's relaxing.

TPBM swears by hydrotherapy.

message 6146: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments I think that it sound cool.

TPBM Loves the essential oils

message 6147: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I love any kind of oil that smells delightful without being too overwhelming. My can of Axe body spray would be an example of something that's overwhelming; my step-dad hates it.

TPBM will look up "Slip Away" by David Arkenstone and Charlee Brooks on You Tube and love it.

message 6148: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I might. But I am on my phone right now, and I like the sound of music too much to listen to it on it.

TPBM has musical plans for tomorrow night.

message 6149: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Maybe not tomorrow night, but on Sunday, I'm seeing the Pain in the Grass heavy metal concert, which includes bands like Slipknot, Three Days Grace, and Lamb of God to name a few. It should be a fun night.

TPBM face-palms or shakes his or her head no whenever hearing Justin Bieber compare himself to Kurt Cobain.

message 6150: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I avoid celebrity gossip, especially those that involve Bieber, so I save myself a lot of face-palms.

TPBM will sometimes start humming a song, only to have it suddenly morph into a different song halfway through.
