But seriously, i just started the book - and i LOVE it!!!!

message 102: by Crystalmarie (new)

Crystalmarie (CrystalsNovels) Opps. Sorry didn't read before i posted :/
My name is CrystalMarie, 26 years old - fresh outta Cali.
I found the series long ago. Never paid it any attention. Until i got my Nook and downloaded the sample. Well from then on, i've been hooked.
My favorite book is #1, because i have yet to move past it.
I love the world KMM has created. Been looking for something adult, something that reminds me of Sookie Stackhouse novels (my fav) and this is it! :) I am happy reading!

Benita Vehnom Ruiz (bluebell7) | 1 comments Hello I'm Benita, 23 from Tampa fl. I'm just getting into the Fever Series. I was in another group and the ladies were talking about this series, so I thought I'll give it a go. Reading Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning right now.

Lauren Sharpe | 2 comments Hey, my name is Lauren, 19 from the UK!
I had never heard of Karen Moning until amazon suggested i might like the fever series! It was right! My favourite book...close call between dream fever and shadow fever!
I love the way Karen writes and the relationship you get to have with the characters, plus love Barrons!! Also love the highlander series cannot wait to see what she does next!

message 106: by Kirsten (new)

Jenn | 1 comments Hi everyone! My name is Jenn, im 26yrs old and I live in Houston, TX. I actually read the first 2 fever books, then read all the highlanders then finished the fever series. I am completely addicted to these books (really to JZB lol) and Mac's world. KMM did a beautiful job! I have always loved to read and found these books on some forums and review boards about paranormal fantasy.

Loved to meet more Maniacs in Houston!!!! Fever Group...?

xoxoxo~ Stay to the lights!

message 108: by Gwennie (last edited Feb 06, 2011 11:03AM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Hi, I'm Wendy, 31 and from the US. I discovered this series from other groups I'm in, I wasn't so sure about book one, but by book two I was addicted. I just finished Shadowfever and so I want to say that it's my favorite, but I also loved Dreamfever. They are definitely my two favorites.

I love this series for many reasons. I love the characters and the world building, but I think that the secret weapon is Jericho Barrons.

I haven't read most of the Highlander series yet, but I'm going to be reading them now as I wait for the next books to come out.

message 109: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) As in, not wanting to read anything else. Um, yeah, me.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 73 comments I had to stay away from another series with heavy world building for at least a week. I was too stuck in the Fever world.

Best way to move on is to read some fluff for a few days.

message 111: by Rie (new)

Rie | 1 comments Hi, I'm Rie! I'm 21 from Indiana, USA.
I discovered the series searching for more good books to read. I was hooked from book one and just couldn't put it down. Karen Moning has done extraordinary job at creating a completely different world. I can't really choose what my favorite book is out of the series. I love them all and they all bring something new.

message 112: by Emily (new)

Emily | 3 comments ~My name is Emily, I'm 27 and I live in Washington state in the US.
~I discovered KMM by picking up Spell of the Highlander in a Grocery store on vacation needing a new book to read and since then I have read everything that I can find written by her.
~My favorite book is still Immortal Highlander, I Love all of her books but this book just melts me every time I read it.
~I have a deep love of Celtic lore and myths, I enjoy the world of the Fae that KMM creates, and the Fever Series made me laugh and cry, I anticipated each book to the point of driving the booksellers nuts... There is no comparison that KMM writes a complete world that can change and grow in the mind of the reader, I love the sexy highlanders/Jerichos and their fiery counterparts.

message 114: by Ladymcbeth (new)

Ladymcbeth Hello
- I'm Lady mc beth (Coco my real name), i'm 36 and i live in France (south).

- I discovered the serie because one day i read a book from highlander serie and i "fell" in love of the universe of KMM. So i began to search her other books, and it's like that i began to read in english (some of the highland serie have not been translated in french) and also i found fever serie like that ... in searching

- My favourite book is the first ... it's the beginning and we discover the heroin and we can follow her changing

- why i love the serie so much ... i don't know... maybe because i could be Mac !

message 115: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Balentine (natbalentine) | 11 comments hello, Natalie here, from alabama. i am new to UF and dont really read romances (did as a girl) i read serious lit usually and some of the current best sellers : The Room, The Help, Freedom etc. i stumbled on this series and downloaded all 5 books on my sony ereader then read them straight thru over 4 or 5 days. I fell in love (lust) with barrons, and like Mac so much. There were some cheesy, corny aspects, but overall great world building etc. thing is...cant stop thinking about the series..i am in need of a simlar barrons character..but dont want fluff/silly romance,,,any suggestions..i really had fun with this series, I then read halfway to the grave and that series (bleh...) and The Iron Duke, but NONE compare!!

message 116: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Balentine (natbalentine) | 11 comments Lady Vale...wow, never thought i would join a groupy-book-page thing, but this seems fun!! :), i really enjoyed the series..wow, Barrons was such a great character..and mac finally became one too! The pat ending, with the parents in a house in Dublin and the BBQ was contrived, but hey, as long as mac and barrons had their HEA i was pleased!! I did want a little more emotional conncetion, but nothing mushy! anyway, looking forward to the next book...but again, I NEED A NEW BARRONS..just as a filler, a temp, a stand in, a rebound...lol.

♥ Amber ♥ (isabellarose) | 2 comments Hi I'm amber! I'm from Chattanooga TN. I AM IN LOVE with the fever series!!! Like, "you won't see me until I've finished the whole thing" kind of obsession everytime a new one came out! lol. I was so glad to find this group!! Also, if you like paranormal romance/urban fantasy, this is a great group too! It's new, but it's growing! It has tons of books like Fever!

http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/4...

Anyway, nice to meet you all! MONING MANIAC FOREVER!!! lol!

Mrs.Vishous-Kattalakis-Belikov :::Para Itch Reviews::: (vanesmate) | 8 comments Hi Everyone I'm Mrs.V!! And it is official...I'm addicted to the Fever series! I just started Darkfever a few days ago and now I'm on Dreamfever!! I don't know why it took me so long to start this series and soooooo glad I did! Thank God all the books are out cuz the cliffhangers are brutal!

message 122: by Teresa (last edited Mar 07, 2011 10:00AM) (new)

Teresa | 1 comments I'm Teresa from Georgia, I am 42 and been married 13 years and have 2 kids. I started reading the fever books in 2009 when the 3rd book came out. I bought all 3 at once and read them in order. I was just looking at amazon trying to find a new book to read. Boy, I love this series my fav is Shadowfever. I have attended the fevercon and book signing in Ga. Karen is a wonderful writer.

message 123: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 2 comments Hi Teresa! So your looking for a good book to read. Have you read Karen's Highlander series? I would definitely read that if you haven't done so already. If you have and love stories involving faeries you're best bet would be with Melissa Marr and her Wicked Lovely series, its not like Karen's Fever series but I still love it.

message 124: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (sadstrumpetjenny) Oh hi! Jen from Massachusetts here. Just found y'all after I started to reread Shadowfever last night. I read it twice in a row when it came out, but now I am enjoying the slower pace...

I was never really a romance reader, or a paranormal/UF fan for that matter, but I picked up Bloodfever at the library while chasing my two year old down the paperback aisle. Thank you, my crazy child, I am changing your middle name to Barrons. I know I am preaching to the choir, but I mean, seriously. Best. Character. Ever.

message 125: by Susie (new)

Susie | 5 comments 1) Hi, i'm Susie. I live in Pennsylvania, in the US.

2) Someone mentioned that it was a great series, but it took me 6 months to finally pick up Darkfever. God, I am glad I did!

3) My fave book is Shadowfever, with Dreamfever a close second.

4) I didn't really love the series until I read the second book. Then, for me, it really got going. Mac would sometimes drive me crazy, but I ultimately liked her. Dani was hilarious, and I liked that Moning developed her as a kid who has seen too much. And, well, then there's Barrons. *squeals* (lol) I've mentioned before (in comments) that I couldn't imagine a strong enough male character to ever supplant Edward Cullen as the ultimate dream guy. But, HOLY CRAP, Barrons does it for me.

I'm thinking about checking out the Highlander series. Any thoughts?

Thanks. --Susie

I was not really a huge fan - they are your more typical category romance - which can be fun, but just don't draw me in the way the Fever books did. But, that said, there are some good tidbits and background on some of the major players.

-I was downloading free books on my nook when i stumbled upon the first Fever! LOVED IT

-It is really hard for me to pick a favorite. I think Dreamfever would be my favorite because I finally got what I had been waiting for.

-I think I loved this series because it had everything and the characters were so vivid for me. I felt every emotion while reading these books. After reading the Fever series and the Highlander series, I am having trouble finding something to read that can compare.

3. My favorite book from the Highlander Series is without a doubt "Kiss of the Highlander" and from the Fever Series, "Shadowfever" I hated to see it come to an end, but it was so worth the wait!
4. Why I love the series....hmmmm. Well, I love the depth of the characters, and the emotional rollercoaster ride through the whole series. I can honestly say I am addicted.

I met KMM from the Highlander series and was quite surprised form the presence of faeries in her books. I was quite reluctant to start Fever but my friends from VBC strongly suggested it so I oblieged. And now I cant get it of my mind!!!!.....

Ginger | 1 comments Hi. I'm Ginger - 41 and in the US
I read the Highlander series first and saw reviews for the Fever series so I had to give it a shot. I haven't read the entire thing..yet. Finishing up Dreamfever and just waiting for the final book to be available at the library! I'm enjoying the Fever books much more than the Highlander books although those were entertaining too

message 138: by Kimmi (new)

Kimmi | 1 comments Kimberley from Orlando Fl. 35
Stumbled on it in goodreads while looking for Fae related UF. I was sick of vamps at the time. Ive recommended this series to several friends and my sissy. I loved all the books past 1/2 way through dream fever. Mac got on my nerves at first but I grew to like her. My favorite about the series is the love/hate tension between Barrons and Mac. In fact I'd love recommendations for similar "grow on me" tension relationship with lots of butt kicking if anyone has any.

message 139: by Twana (new)

Twana (ms_twana) | 5 comments Hi everyone. I'm a newbie to goodreads.

I just finished the series about 2 hours ago. I'm having withdrawals already.

My name is Twana. I'm 32 and in the US (TN). I was actually told about the series by a woman on the plane. I was reading the Hunger Games series, and she asked me about it. Then she told me about FS. I'm soo glad she did. My fav book would be either 4 or 5. And I was SOOOO happy to see that I wasn't disappointed w/ the final book like I was with Twilight & Hunger Games series.

I'm not really certain why I'm so addicted to this series. Mac and Barrons love/hate relationship, the constant page turning events, the fact that I was always questioning what was going to happen or what was what. It is definitely my favorite series thus far.

message 140: by Liz (new)

Liz W (thelizwiley) | 80 comments Hello, my name is Liz, I'm from the US and I'm 29 years old :) I discovered The Fae series after I read the 2nd Highlander book and have been addicted ever since. I love the suspense and emotion on each page. I've re-reading the series now and it is like reading it again for the first time. I think Dreamfever is my favorite of the series because Mac finds herself and refuses to apologize for herself anymore. She'd had been trying to live up to Alina for so long not realizing that she was ultimately the stronger person. I'd love that Barron finally showed how much he cared for Mac even if she wasn't seeing it. A man wanting a strong woman and not a welcome mat is refreshing when its seen in quiet a few vampire series or its all about the sex. Sex is great and important but isn't all there is to loving someone and you get to see that in these books. I hope Ms. Moning continues to write such page turning, never put the series down books and I hope the next one involves Dani and Ryodan :) I know she's young now but he isn't aging..........She'd be worth the wait!

2.I didcovered KMM from Gooodreads! specifically Lady Vale, I found GR's about a month ago and saw her reviews!
3. so far I loved them all(fever series), I went out and bought all of them, thankfully I have a Books a Million very close by!!I did order the Highlander series as well
4. Lets see..I loved Mac's character, she was a bit of a dingbat, so likeable! of course Barrons..whats not to like?! I loved all the characters ...even the horrid ones :)

message 142: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 22 comments Hi my name is Jenne. I stumbled across the fever series on amazon looking for a new series to read. I instantly fell in love with it! I haven't tried the Highlander series yet, how does it compare to the fever series? Seems hard to top Mac & Barrons' story!

message 143: by Grace (new)

Grace | 1 comments Heya I'm Tyra, 19 from NZ. I'd seen the Fever books around for a while but only picked them up recently, I'm definitely a newbie so be nice ;D. I hope to get through them like that *snaps fingers* Anywho, can't wait to read the rest of the books.

message 144: by Sara (new)

Sara (saragr) | 35 comments Hey everyone! I'm Sara, 29 from MS, USA. I found out about the Fever books on a couple of amazon forums. People kept recommending them and so I had to check it out. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I think Shadowfever would be it and then for the Highlander books The Dark Highlander(that is hard to pick too) There are so many things I love about the series but one was that I love anything to do with Ireland or Scotland, that KMM shed a different light on the fae world, and of course Barrons!

message 145: by Ronya (new)

Ronya | 1 comments Hi all,

As strange as it seems, I actually shot the photograph that inspired the image on the back cover of the paperback version. I only found out recently that KMM has decided to use it and I am thrilled to bits!!!

To my shame I have to admit that I am completely new to the series but I simply can’t wait to get my own copy on 30th August…

Jonetta (ejaygirl) Hi, I'm Jonetta from North Carolina. I discovered this series about six weeks ago from friends on Shelfari. I read the entire Fever series back-to-back in about ten days. It must have been torture to have to wait for each book to be published if you started this series early on. The cliffhangers were torturous! Love Mac & Barrons.

Welcome, Jonetta! My experience was exactly the same. I couldn't sleep after finishing Faefever. I tossed and turned waiting for a bookstore to open! I, too, cannot imaging the torture of waiting months to see what happened next.

Bonnie Gill (bonniegill) | 1 comments Hello, my name is Bonnie & I'm from Chicago Illinois Im 46.
I found KMM through blog posts on Gena Showalter's site.
I love all the Fever books and I'm starting to read her Highlander Books.
I love to escape reality and live adventure through Mac's life and also live the love scenes with Barrons through her. I have read all the Fever books twice and will probably read them again.
I hope she has a Fevercon next year because I would definately go.

Jill | 1 comments 1. HELLO!!! My name is Jill, I'm 34 from Lansing, Michigan.

2. This series was introduced to me by co-workers who share the same passion for a "good series"

3. My favorite book... that is a tough one for me. I really did enjoy them all. I would have to say Shadowfever. Reason, there was so many questions that needed to be answered (at least for me) and most of them were answered.

4. The reason I love this series is simple, its entertaining, intriguing, and fun. It reminds me a lot of other series that I have been reading. Plus who couldn't LOVE Barrons!!! I mean seriously.. :)
