Lisa X | 56 comments Welcome Angie! Yes, KMM develops amazing characters. When I think of the Fever series, even her highland series, the story is crystal clear. The characters take on a life of their own while other books I've read, the story might be good but it's cloudy in my head. Does that makes sense?

It's been a full three months since I've read the series and it get's easier everyday. I no longer obsess over the story everyday. Time does heal all wounds. Yes, I was wounded when KMM ended "DreamFever" the way she did!

Beanbag Love Hey guys! I'm a big Fever fan, so I'm glad there's a group here at GR.

I discovered Fever just after Faefever came out because a bunch of people on another board were talking about it. I was completely hooked and read all three books back to back and then pined for DrF for all those months.

I'm big into theorizing so expect to see some elaborate and bizarre posts from me, lol.

Mandy Glover | 3 comments Hi everyone! I'm Mandy and I'm from GA in the USA.

I stumbled upon this series after reading her Highlander series. Intitially, because the books were written in first person, I wasn't going to read them. I read the first three in TWO DAYS!! LOL!!

I am very impatiently awaiting book 5.

message 54: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Glover | 3 comments thanks! I'm excited to be here.

message 55: by Monica (new)

Monica C. | 5 comments Hi there, I'm Monica from New York. I started reading the series about a week and a half ago. It takes me about 2 days to get through a book then I go back to the library to get the next one. I was looking for a book to read after finishing The Outlander Series (excellent by the way)and wanted to start the highlander series which was recommended on the outlander group. My library did not have the first book in that series but did have the first three of the fever series. I've been addicted ever since. I am will be starting book 4 soon (taking a little breather.)

Tess (goodreadscomtess) | 5 comments Hi! I'm Tess from Georgia. (Sorry, Lady Vale, for posting on another list before introductions! I got carried away!) I got hooked on the Fever series when I downloaded Darkfever free on my nook, then I couldn't stop reading them. I read them straight through in four days on vacation at the beach. Now I'm going through withdrawal and need something else to read while waiting for Shadowfever! Any suggestions? Dreamfever was definitely my favorite--loved, loved, loved the recovery scene and Barrons dancing with Mac. I love all the theories posted in the group.

message 57: by Tess (new)

Tess (goodreadscomtess) | 5 comments Love your Obsessions shelf! Thank you! I just finished Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood #1) a couple of days ago, and The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld #1) last night. I really enjoyed them both. I can't wait to try more of the books on your list.

Ashley (ashleylaura87) | 3 comments Hello everyone!!

My name is Ashley, I'm 26 and I'm in Seattle, WA, USA
I can't remember the EXACT person or POST that lead me to discover this series, but I found out from GoodReads...most likely in one of the many groups I'm in.
-Well, I'm currently reading Dreamfever now; haven't finished yet...but likely will tonight or tomorrow. Not taking that book into account, so far, Bloodfever has been my favorite. I just devoured that book!!
-I love the series because it's exciting and the characters are built so well. Mac has a huge and delightful character arc, starting out as someone I didn't quite like to someone I admire and respect. Also, I think Moning has done a wonderful job at crafting a story that has bits of everything...romance, suspense, action, and laugh out laugh moments. It's an amazingly built story...and although I love cliffhangers...she may give a heart condition...it's a REALLY good thing I had all the books waiting for me to pick up...after I finish Dreamfever I don't know HOW I will survive till January!

Lani (crahfty) I'm Lani, 30 from Indiana the U.S. I discovered the series through another group here on goodreads. My favorite book in the series is probably Dreamfever. The way Barrons rehabs Mac is just plain hot. I liked the series because it's different from anything else I've read.

Paige (paigewaller) I guess I have been in the group for a while now but just discovered this thread.
-Paige, 22, United States
-I love Fae books and this showed up!
-My favorite is obviously Dreamfever because we finally got some steamy sex!
-I love escaping into the Fever series. As a stay at home mom/housewife I need some release and the Fever series gives me that. But if I don't get ahold of Shadowfever soon I'm going to go insane!!!

Annie (anncraven) | 3 comments Thanks so much, Vale! Yeah, I finally picked up this series. I don't know why it took me this long to find it. I'm so glad I did though!

Didi, 27, CA USA

I was browsing on my nook looking for new romance novels to read and came across the first in this series. It had such great reviews I had to give it a try. Since I did, I have never looked back!

As far as my favorite book in the series, its hard to say, I guess I love them all but book 4 is pretty sexy!

I love the writing in this book, but I also love the characters. Barrons is totally hot! Mac is better than a lot of female leads out there. Also the world Karen created is so vivid and the storyline so captivating, its hard to not LOVE these books.

Carina | 109 comments Hi guys! My name is Carina and I just finished reading books 1-4 of this series.
I thought the ending in book 3 was huge but the ending on book 4(which I just finished) was Humongus!!! Im really excited to read the last installment and talk about this great series.
My Fav Book in this series so far is Book 4, can you say greatest rollercoaster ride!!

message 68: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 13, 2010 12:13AM) (new)

Hello! I'm Rebecca (18) from northern Sweden. I came across the series after I'd first joined Goodreads. Everyone seemed to love it, so I got curious and thought I'd try it out. After the first one I was planning on giving it up, but was told it gets better and decided to give it another try. I enjoyed the second one better, but I found the first 80% a bit boring. Thanks to that cliffhanger ending though, I had to read Faefever which is my favourite Fever book so far. I'm extremely glad I didn't give up on this series! What I love the most about it? It's unpredictable, it's dark and it definitely makes you feel.

Dina (missdina) Hello, everyone! Now that this group isn't exclusively dedicated to the Fever series, I can finally join you guys. Not that I don't like the Fever books, I just haven't read them yet. But "Moning Maniacs" is right up my alley, LOL.

1. My name is Dina, I'm from Brazil and I'll be 21 years forever. :)
2. I discovered the Highlander series through a friend, who wouldn't stop raving about those books. She was right, of course.
3. My favorite book is Kiss of the Highlander, but I love the other books in the series too.
4. What's not to love about those books? Hot Highlanders, yummy Highlanders, gorgeous Highlanders... I could go on and on, LOL.

message 72: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) Thanks, Vale. I decided to get in the spirit of the Holidays and changed my pic. Obviously, I never warn my friends when I do that. I'm not as considerate as you, LOL.

message 74: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kathrynbarnes) Hi I'm kathryn from South Africa.

The series as a whole is brilliant and absolutely love the author as she holds nothing back. She shows the true side of any story with good and bad moments. Her characters are so real and intriguing.

Cant wait for the last book as I loved the last book and that cliffhanger ending. I can't stop wondering what it is :D

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

I recently started reading the Fever books and am currently reading Faefever. I love KMM's writing in these books and she's created a unique and addictive story, and some amazing characters! I am absolutely in love with Barrons.

The Fever series is so dark yet compelling. I can't wait for Shadowfever!

ATron | 1 comments Hi!! My name is ATron or Ann, I'm 39, and I live in Memphis, TN, USA.

I followed the Fever books after falling in love with the MacKeltars. I vowed to wait till the whole series was out before reading (I'd heard about the cliffhangers), but I caved in about 3 mos ago. I'm now desperately waiting for Shadowfever like all of you.

Fave book... Hmmm... I guess I'd say Dreamfever since it at least saved me from Faefever's cliffhanger... (Curse you, Ms. Moning!!)

I think I just love how in depth the books are with the Fae info. I especially love though that KMM crafted such characters that draw you in so much. I've grown sling with Mac... I've marveled at Barrons... Just awesome character building v

Thanks for letting me hang with you all!!

message 81: by Ctanner (new)

Ctanner | 1 comments My name is Christina and I live in the southwest United States. I just read the Fever series for the first time this month. I am just about to start Dreamfever, because the ending of Faefever was so disturbing I had to pick up the next one. I love the series because I cannot put it down. Each character in the books are serouisly flawed and I like that. I have no ida what is going on. Each time I gues, I am proved wrong. I cannot wait until Shadowfever.

Lisa O. | 26 comments Hello! My name is Lisa, I'm 25 and I live in Colorado.

I found the Fever series after I got into reading urban fantasy, just after the fourth book came out.

If I had to pick one, I think Dreamfever is my favorite, there's just so much that happens, and I love dark Mac.

I love everything about this series! Moning does a great job of bringing the world to life and making it realistic. The characters seem like real people and I love Mac's attitude. Also, I don't think I've read any other books with a world like this one, it's such a different take on the Fae. And like the rest of you I'm dying to see what happens in Shadowfever!

message 84: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) Hello!! My name is Susan and I live in Oregon....

I discovered the highlander series thru my cousin who had given me a bunch of books, i originally wasn't going to read it cuz I wasn't sure I'd be in to straight romance, but a friend talked me into reading them and boy am I glad she did! Ended up loving the highlander series and before I was even done starting collecting all the fever books! I have FINALLY started to read the fever books, I wanted to wait until closer to the last book as I kept hearing that the cliffhangers were torture! I am currently on Dreamfever and loving it! So far I would say it's my favorite and i'm just barely into it! Love Mac and I love Dani! Jury is still out for me on Barrons, there is just something about him that bugs me... Can't wait to get and devour Shadowfever!

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Pamela, 49, Arkansas, USA
I love the Highlanders but haven't read the fever series
The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning and The Immortal Highlander (Highlander, #6) by Karen Marie Moning are my faves. Hard to decide which is numer 1.
I love the alpha-ness and protectiveness of the heroes and I love that the heroines are no shrinking violets.

message 87: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) Hi Pamela!! You HAVE to read the Fever series! It's sooo good! I just finished the 4th book and so glad I only have 8 more days to wait for the last book!!! :)

message 88: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (helpmerhonda72) Hey!!!
I'm new to this group, and a latecomer to this series. I just read all 4 books in Dec. and finished up Dreamfever the beginning of Jan. I don't think I could be anymore excited for Shadowfever, if I had read the books as they came out. Unfortunately I'm now having the reading blues, with SF release date looming, I'm afraid I won't be happy until I have that book in my hands.

Anyway, My favorite of the series so far is: Darkfever (yes I loved that one) and Dreamfever.

Once I read all of them, I moved to the Highlander Series and absolutely loved each an every one. As a matter of fact, I am rather protestion by not reading anything because I am afraid I won't find anything as good as what KMM has crafted. Loved all the Fever Series. Pinda | 1 comments Hi, I am new here, but I have been on KMM site for a bit. I live in NC, USA. I first started with the Highlander Books (who doesn't love Highlanders), and quickly worked my way thru them. I LOVE the Fever series. I just finished the re-read and am counting down the days till my book arrives!

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello my name is Faith and I am addicted to Karen Marie Moning's books. I live in New York. And my addiction started 2 years ago with the Highlander series My most favorite books are Dark Highlander and Immortal Highlander. I gradually got " the Fever" Series and devoured them all and was left going through withdrawals waiting for the last book.
And yes I am addicted to Borrows too like many others here.
Thanks for this group... I don't know what I would do with out it.

Before I found goodreads I found books through Amazon..... when I found a book I liked and bought it .. it shows book that are similar and what other books others who bought the same book bought. If that makes sense. And that was my beginning. 3 days left???

Jenn Robertson | 4 comments ~Hello my name is Jennifer, 30 yrs, Maryland
~I discovered KMM's world by recommendation,a bookstore employee in my hometown practically forced me to buy one of the Highlander books(Immortal Highlander). I thought this girl is nuts, but she was so enthusiastic in her descriptions of the books I caved and bought it, and boy am I glad I did. The very next day after finishing IH (in one night!) I went back to the same store and bought every KMM book that they had in stock.
~My favorite Highlander book is "The Immortal Highlander" I love Adam Black! My favorite Fever book right now is Dreamfever, but I'm sure Shadowfever will soon replace it.
~ What I love about KMM is how she can create a universe that can totally suck you up, and you can almost believe that somewhere over in Dublin Fae are running a muck or in Scotland sexy druids saying arcane chants are traveling through time. Few authors can create worlds so vivid that you can almost begin to question the laws of physics.
