Bridget (bekeown) | 126 comments Welcome, Lori! I hope you enjoy Lisa Kleypas. She's one of my all-time favorites...Devil in Winter and Mine Till Midnight are my two favorites from her series.
I actually love Deanna Raybourn, too, but I didn't totally fall for her until the second Lady Julia book, Silent in the Sanctuary. Her family is an absolute riot and Brisbane develops into an irresistible leading man. :)
Never read any Julie Garwood--you'll have to let us know what you think!

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) Hi Lori. I'm another great fan of Lisa Kleypas and can highly recommend her recent Hathaway historical series. Another favourite author of mine is Loretta Chase whose books are both sexy and funny.

Grace Elliot (httpwwwgoodreadscomgraceelliot) Just started 'The Conqueror' by Brenda Joyce.
This is the first of hers I've read and she has quite a back list.
Interested to see what she's like.

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) I'm reading Last Night's Scandal by Loretta Chase . Loretta Chase is superb at writing deliciously sexy books laced with loads of humour.

Couldn't agree more--this was the first of her books I read and it's still probably my favorite!

What order do the books come in?
I like the sound of Between the Devil and Desire but I'd like to read the books in order (anal I know!)

Bridget (bekeown) | 126 comments I'm absolutely the same way, Grace!
The series goes:
In Bed With the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James, #1) by Lorraine Heath In Bed With the Devil

Between the Devil and Desire (Scoundrels of St. James, #2) by Lorraine Heath Between the Devil and Desire

Surrender to the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James, #3) by Lorraine Heath Surrender to the Devil

I think this series has the best covers of all her books, too! Enjoy!

Bridget, don't forget the 4th book in the series ' Midnight Pleasures with a Scoundrel'.

I agree about the covers particularly the back covers!

Bridget (bekeown) | 126 comments Erm..misdirected comment. Mea culpa!
I totally forgot the fourth book, thanks!
It's in my TBR pile now and I can't wait to get to it :)

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) Just finished Last Night's Scandal by Loretta Chase - romantic, sexy and funny.

and started One Wicked Sin by Nicola Cornick - I'm really enjoying Nicola Cornick's Scandalous Women of the Ton series.

Bridget (bekeown) | 126 comments Just finished: To Seduce A Sinner (Legend of the Four Soldiers, #2) by Elizabeth Hoyt
Absolutely loved it-heart-rending, funny and with two characters I respected as well as adored...and some interesting history, to boot...

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) I intend to read the Wallflower series so it's an excellent excuse to re-read (for about the sixth time) the prequel, my all time favourite Lisa Kleypas book Again The Magic by Lisa Kleypas

message 63: by Marilyn (last edited Mar 22, 2011 09:45PM) (new)

message 64: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn Rykiert | 140 comments I have just finsihed listening to Falling For Gracie (Los Lobos, #2) by Susan Mallery on CD and I loved it. I have just started listening to Recipes for a Perfect Marriage by Kate Kerrigan on CD and I am listening to Wildflower Hill by Kimberley Freeman on my IPod, I am really enjoying this story and I am reading Nauti Dreams (Nauti, #3) by Lora Leigh , but I am not really enjoying it as much as I was hoping to and now that I have borrowed it for another 3 weeks from the library I might go on to The Irish Devil (Devil, #1) by Diane Whiteside which I need to complete this month for the challenge.

Hi Carol, How did you find this book, I have just finished too for me it was not quite as good as I expected.

I am currently listening to Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins and reading Vampire Darcy's Desire A Pride and Prejudice Adaptation by Regina Jeffers and I am trying to finishe listening to The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon and Nauti Dreams (Nauti, #3) by Lora Leigh

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) Hi Bronwyn (a very Welsh name), I really enjoyed Awakened by a Kiss. I found the stories original and the fact that it was set in the French court of Louis XIV was refreshing as so many historicals are set in Regency England. The only criticism I have is that occasionally for me the explicit language tended the lessen the ambience of certain scenes.

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) I'm just about to start Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward - hope my expectations aren't too high!

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) I've read Her Notorious Viscount (Stoneworth, #1) by Jenna Petersen Rogue for a Night (Stoneworth, #2) by Jenna Petersen and just started Wicked Intentions (Maiden Lane, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt

My hopes are quite high, as the premise sounds really interesting...

Bridget (bekeown) | 126 comments Eternal Rider was quite good...It was nice to see some of the characters from her other series put in an appearance, as well.

Just finished Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill . My heart is broken with the ending, but I'm holding out for the next book in the series to *hopefully* make it right again...

Bridget (bekeown) | 126 comments On a kick from the Carina Press: just finished Lessons in Indiscretion (loved it!) and have Portrait of Seduction ready to go. Non-romance wise, I'm nearly done with Anno Dracula. Love it. LOVE. IT.

And Devil in Winter is my favoritest Wallflower Book--hope you enjoy, Carol!

Bridget, just finished Devil in Winter and loved Sebastian and Evie. Perfect chemistry. LK did an amazing job in redeeming Sebastian, after what he did at the end of It Happened One Autumn, and making it so believable. Loved how Evie came into her own in this book and showed such inner
strength.

Bridget (bekeown) | 126 comments Just finished In Scandal They Wed by Sophie Jordan
Oh. My.
I borrowed this from the library on a whim, having never read any of Sophie Jordan's works before now..and was up until 3am feverishly finishing it. Went back today and got all the rest of her books on the shelves!

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) I'm reading Scandal of the Year (Abandoned at the Altar, #2) by Laura Lee Guhrke

message 97: by Bridget (new)

Bridget (bekeown) | 126 comments I really enjoyed that one, Carol, though there's very little that Laura Lee Guhrke has written that I don't adore. :)
Just finishing up Wicked Becomes You by Meredith Duran and thought is was absolutely sensational--funny and sweet with a great hero and heroine. I'm heading out to get her newest A Lady's Lesson in Scandal tonight!

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) Bridget, I've just finished Scandal of the Year and loved it. I think over all it was better than Wedding of the Season. My favourite book by Laura Lee Guhrke is still Guilty Pleasures.

I've got Proof of Seduction by Meredith Duran on my TBR pile. Is she good because she's a new author to me?

message 99: by Bridget (last edited Jul 11, 2011 11:28AM) (new)

Bridget (bekeown) | 126 comments To be honest, Carol, I've not heard of that book by her (though I know Courtney Milan wrote one with the same title...). But I have read The Duke of Shadows and Wicked Becomes You--while they are really different (I didn't realize she was the author of both for ages!) they are both really well-written and the characters are wonderfully real and flawed and funny and passionate. I like that, by and large, the "problem" keeping the Hero and Heroine apart isn't a murderous spy or a deadly secret, so much as it is their own foibles and fears. Feels much more realistic and rewarding. I just started A Lady's Lesson in Scandal and it looks to be equally as wonderful. Hope you enjoy!

Bridget, no wonder you've not heard of that book by Meredith Duran because I must had a senior moment!! The book I've got is by Courtney Milan. Must have been the names sounding slightly similar.
