K, So I am *still* not done with The Power of Six. Its just sooo bad. The writing is atrocious and there are sooo many plot holes its not funny. I've had keep my iPhone on me at all times when reading, so I can whip out the 'notes' app and record the latest garbage that I have read. There are a looot of notes. In a mean way, I cant wait to finish and get my review out :D

Actually, Im going to start a specific 'Power of Six' thread, so we can have some hearty debate about this novel.

We were talking about THE POWER OF SIX today at church, Jess, and I said that it was horrible compared to the first - all the love quadrangles and plot holes and so forth, and most everyone agreed! We had a talk about why exactly authors feel compelled to put crap in their books. But I love your review - it was spot-on :)

message 2417: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments It was a wonderful review. I don't feel quite as vehemently as you do (I thought it was an entertaining piece of garbage, as opposed to just a piece of garbage), but I really enjoyed reading your review.

And Gone for fun. XD

The Scarlet Letter isn't BAD, it's actually quite good once you get past all of the lengthy descriptions that is Hawthorne's signature.

message 2438: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Just finished Fallen by Lauren Kate. Xd And before i read the second book, Torment, I'm reading Rick Riordan's Son Of Neptune.
My brain is starting the hurtfrom all this mythology- we've got Greek from PJO, Roman from HoO, Egyptian from KC (you can tell Rick's working up to a big mash-up between Kane Chronicles and Heroes of Olympus), and then (NOT a spoiler) Frank from Son of Neptune is Chinese and my brother told me that Mr. Riordan slid some Chinese mythology in there as well.
IS ANYONE ELSE'S BRAIN HURTING FROM ALL THE MASH-UPS?
