Thats my favorite series. Books 1 and 2 are not as good as the rest of the series, but still enjoyable.

Katya | 327 comments Pleasures Untold (Hanaford Park, #2) by Lisa Sanchez

Martha is a witch who's bloodline has been hunted by a Ancient, evil vampire (Lucas) as a young child she watched him kill her mother and grandmother...before her grandmother was able to zapp her to a safe place....Now Martha is in hiding. Spending her life looking over her shoulder....until she meets another vampire (Xan)an ancient, powerful vamp who is immune to her magic and uses magic himself. A new coven has moved into town and is set to take over the area...they have no respect for life or other vamps....Xan & Martha work together to defeat these new vampires....and what of Lucas...????

Great Quotes:

"If I had caught my man with his pickle in someone else's jar, I wouldn't be going out on the town. Hell NO! I would be eating my weight in Ben & Jerrys, listening to angry chick music and conjuring up pictures of the low-life I could deface.....but a friend is a friend and so here I am."

"With his arms folded casually accross his chest, he burned a whole into me with his heated gaze. Holy...stunned, I looked away as a shockwave of desire ping-ponged around my chest and zapped a straight line down to my hoo-ha."

I gotta tell you...this series is really good and I think I like this book better than the first.

Rachel the Book Harlot | 217 comments I finished Highlander's Touch and really liked it. I'm halfway through In Bed with a Highlander (McCabe Trilogy, #1) by Maya Banks . I just started Beloved Savage by Sandra Bishop . Okay, the cover looks really scary (lol) but I have to say, it's beautifully written. I'm actually kind of surprised. Anyhooo, we'll see how it goes. :)

Tamara Witika | 21 comments Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor finished this yesterday and it kicked my arse all over the place... Same thing happened earlier in the week when I read DEAD KISS Generation Dead & Kiss of Life by Daniel Waters

Currently on Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare just started it but I'm warming up to it and I liked the Mortal Instruments and this is a prequel to it set in Victorian England.

I think I'm in love already. Gotta love the dangerous alpha man. SIGH! I'm so glad it's the first of a series, and giddy to get back to reading.

Rachel the Book Harlot | 217 comments Katya, that was hilarious!! Loved it! lolol

Rachel the Book Harlot | 217 comments Well, Beloved Savage turned out to be incredible! I thought it would be some trashy romance but it was nothing of the sort. It was beautifully written and extremely compelling. It was a 5 star read for me. :)

I also finished In Bed with a Highlander. It was enjoyable. I'll probably read Book 2 & 3.

Anyhooo, now I've started Fallen from Grace by Laura Leone

I've heard mixed reviews on this book. I think I have it as a TBR but then I hear things like this and push it further in the pile.

I liked it. It was hard to read at first. I think I was about 65% in when I got hooked and then the book ended at around 70% on my Kindle! lol. So it ends abruptly. It was definitely not like anything I had read before.

Teresa | 27 comments I read Standing in the Shadows (McClouds & Friends #2) by Shannon McKenna and like it very much, though the villain is gruesome...the McCloud-brothers are blond, though, which makes them almost automatically my type...
Next is Hot for Santa by Lacey Alexander - which is short. And then I guess I'll read Big Bad Beast (Pride, #6) by Shelly Laurenston - which has a blond hero, too.

Teresa's, I didn't used to be into blonds. But I'm coming around. I think Simon Baker is on my list of blond guys that made me reevaluate them.

I finished

Finding the Lost and I started The Mad, Bad Duke last night.

Rachel the Book Harlot | 217 comments Megan, what did you think of Anna Dressed in Blood?

I just finished Fallen from Grace by Laura Leone . I was a bit meh about it in the beginning because of the heroine but she grew on me over the course of the book. I loved the hero, Ryan, from the very beginning! I think I would have preferred if the book had been soley from his POV. Overall though, I enoyed the book - it was a 3.5-4 star read for me.

I have no idea what to read next.

It was vice versa with me: I always had a thing for blond men, so Patrick Jane immediately caught my attention :D.
And, woohhoooo! Finding the Lost (Sentinel Wars, #2) by Shannon K. Butcher has a blond hero, too :)!!!

I'm not into blonds (ooops, I married one and have three blond sons so maybe I should amend that?) but Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy made me want that one delicious bad boy, let me tell you. (wink)

You know what's weird? Even if the author tells me the hero is blonde, I usually end up picturing him with dark hair in my mind. I've never had a thing for blondes.

message 4281: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Loves 'Em Lethal (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 9851 comments Mod
I think my default is dark hair, and I have to keep rebooting my image unless I really get the hero fixed as blond from the beginning.

I dislike facial hair, so I tend to shave heroes with facial hair in my head when I read a book if the hero has a beard or a mustache. I think Vishous is one of the few exceptions.

I do EXACTLY the same thing :D! There are authors that make it pretty hard to picture the hero as blond because they constantly describe the outer appearance (like Lisa Marie Rice), but I always manage!!! I don't like facial hair, either. A slight stubble is okay, otherwise, he gets shaved.
But I'm so grateful when I find a book where the hero is blond...makes it lots easier :D! I'm working hard on my "blond-hero"-shelf ;)...

I read the first in that series, the one by Gena Showalter for a pick it for me read. I loved the world that the series is set up in; fantastic idea! I just don't really like Gena Showalter. (bad me, I know!)

Ladies, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a default setting for my heroes! I tend to ignore the author's exact description, too. Mine tend to be really tall with dark hair. I don't mind shaggy hair, but if it's like long and flowing...yuck! I wouldn't want to feel long silky hair across my breasts. Eeeew!

I like Killian (Ice Storm book number 4). He's very bad. He's tortured too and he's unlike the others. You'll see what I'm talking about. It makes him sexy. I like Reno too (Fire and Ice book number 5).

All the Anne Stuart's fan can claim all the heroes, except for Killian. He's mine!
