Rosalie Lario (rosalie_lario) | 1 comments Just finished Immortal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #2) by Larissa Ione by Larissa Ione and I loved it! Her characters always make me laugh, and her heroes are hot. The storyline with Thanatos was amazing! Really looking forward to his book.

The BookChick (thebookchick305) Midnight's Master (Midnight, #3) by Cynthia Eden IMO, the best in Cynthia Eden's Midnight series.

Hey Susan... i'd be interested to hear what you thought of this, as it's a difficult book to get hold of in the UK.. the places I have found it, it has been really expensive. I loved Dark Hunter series, and had wanted to read this.

 * Kazzy * -aka Stryker- (krazzykaz) On Chapter 8 of This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost ... and loving it already! Thought it was quite clever of Miss Frost to start the book how she did... it made readers recap on the whole series without conciously doing it I think!

Katya | 327 comments Blood on Silk (Awakened by Blood, #1) by Marie Treanor

This is good! a girl (Elizabeth Silk) is working on her PHD...travels to Romania to study folk lore regarding vampires finds an old crypt where an old castle once stood. that crypt held a powerful, ancient vampire - Saloman who was betrayed by his lover and other vampires...staked & buried in 1697. Elizabeth finds him...(not really believing in vampires) and awakens him. Now everyone is mad at her and out for her....including Saloman who wants to drink from Elizabeth and then kill her. (She carries his lover/betrayer's blood somehow.) I am only on page 60 and really am enjoying this creepy, scarey vampire.

"Leaning over the sarcophagus, she ran her fingers along it's far side, but she only felt the details of a muscled arm, hip and thigh, so lovingly carved that just stroking them seemed intimate. She stretched farther so that her hair and jaw brushed against the cold stone of his face, and she felt along the table instead. It appeared to be one solid piece of stone. So where was the body? Movement stirred her hair almost like a lover's breath on her skin, startled she jerked her head up, but before she could leap away, or even see what was happening, something sharp pierced her neck and clamped down hard."

After a few paragraphs she breaks away and he pulls the wooden sword out of his chest and slowly turns his attention to her, smiling.

"In the spotlight of her fallen flashlight, he regarded her from burning coal black eyes, his cloak now streaked with black, fell around him in stiff, dust laden folds as he walked forward with slow, deliberate strides. Beneath it his clothing was torn across the chest, but no blood oozed from the sword wound. His pale lips parted, "Silly girl, that is no way to break off a relationship like ours."

Christina, are the Dresden Files books good in audio format? I've been thinking of trying the books out and I love listening in the car during my long commute.

Black Ice hero Bastien is a bad boy, but he didn't really catch my attention. The book is a good read.

My bad boys are Killian (Ice Storm) and Reno (Fire and Ice).

For me that is the only way to read them. Up until the last book Spike from Buffy narrates and he does a fantastic job!

Kat Black (kat_black_author) | 23 comments Hi Addicts!

I'm looking for series to Kink Up my Kindle with this Christmas time and am going to treat myself to Ann Stuart's Ice series (Q: do they have to be read in order?) but I like the look of her Rohan series, too. Has anyone read these?

message 4226: by Arch (new)

Arch | 4247 comments Mod
Hi Kat. I don't think you have to read Anne's Ice Series in order. I didn't and then again,I didn't have all the books at one time. I think you will like the heroes. Killian and Reno are my favorites, but I have to say that Killian has Reno beat. I like a mystery man.

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 59 comments Just finished Bone Crossed (Mercedes Thompson, #4) by Patricia Briggs I love the Mercy series. This book wasn't my favorite, but it was still a good read. It was good in that she was still grappling with the horrific things that happened in the previous book rather than just moving on.

The next book in the series, Silver Borne (Mercedes Thompson, #5) by Patricia Briggs , is my favorite, Jaime! Lots of pack politics and Mercy/Adam in that one.

I just finished Seduction of a Highland Lass (McCabe Trilogy, #2) by Maya Banks . Didn't think it was possible, but I loved it even more than the first book! Alaric is my new fictional boyfriend (probably only until the next book I read, but you get the picture)!

Megan | 186 comments Currently reading Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake (loving it!), Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas and Cowboy Casanova (Rough Riders, #12) by Lorelei James (I have been waiting for Ben's book forever :) ).

message 4234: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments Megan, I'm looking foward to Ben's book. I will be interested to see what you think of Comfort Food. I didn't expect to like it, but ended up really liking it. It isn't a comfortable book to read though.

message 4235: by Megan (new)

Megan | 186 comments Well I keep hearing good things about it. It was hard to get into at first, but I'm only 13% in to it. The whole premise creeps me out but I'm hoping they develop some emotional connection. I need emotions in my smut, lol.

Ben's book should be really good! Francesca had a really good early review of it so I'm excited it finally came out :)

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 152 comments I'm currently reading a post-apocalyptic romance, the third book actually. The first was ok, the second very good and the third...well it's still too early to tell how good it will get. I want to read some zombie books but did not get around to it yet. The first book read a bit like a zombie movie actually, just trying to survive the next hour. The second and third book is getting back to secondary characters a few years later how they fared. The geeky doctor turning hard, almost rambo...and Tru, the goth kid turned suave womanizer.

So I'm on Daybreak (Dark Age Dawning, #3) by Ellen Connor

Rachel the Book Harlot | 217 comments @ Valerie: Do you like the series overall so far?

I finished Mind Games (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #1) by Carolyn Crane and have started In Bed with a Highlander (McCabe Trilogy, #1) by Maya Banks .

message 4238: by Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ (last edited Dec 09, 2011 02:37PM) (new)

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 152 comments @ Rachel: I love it. The first book is a debut novel and you see at the beginning that the author wrote the beginning last I guess because it's not very detailed. Once the action starts it never lets go. I have not read any YA zombie novels and this one is not YA. There is a balance btw action and the romance part. So you get the feel of 28 days and some Kate Daniels in the background for the magic theory. Again, my knowledge of the genre is limited so there might be better books out there.

Valerie, if you'd like a good zombie series, you should try the Envy Chronicles by Joss Ware, starting with Beyond the Night (Envy Chronicles, #1) by Joss Ware . They are post-apocalyptic and have zombie fights along with fantastic romance!

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 152 comments @Megan: Funny thing, I have it in my TBR pile but every time I look at the cover...I do not get the zombie vibe. I'll fit it somewhere in the yearly reading challenge then so I have no excuse not to read it.

That's true, Bastien is...unique. But I got completely addicted to the ice-series immediately after reading the book, it's one of the few series where I read every installment (except the latest one, I get to that one next week, I hope :D).
