I haven't even started reading books for this month. I am still finishing Dead to the World from last month's challenge! Poor little book doesn't count for either one now. February is a short month. No way I will finish 10 books! I read so slow! I plan to start The Lightning Thief as my first challenge book. :) Everyone else is doing so well!

READ
1 Down / 9 To GoSo I decided to start out this challenge with Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton I've never read any of her books, although I've been meaning to for quite a while. My other group voted for this to be one of our books of the month, so I figured why not read it for both groups! I really did enjoy it. I was surprised though, because for some reason I had it in my mind that the book was supposed to by PNR and instead it was UF. That's fine! I read a lot of UF. I just wasn't expecting that!
This book does seem to be a good set-up for a great series. But I've heard people say that in the first book is when they fell for Jean-Claude. Yeah, I liked what I saw of him, but there wasn't anywhere near enough of him for me to be crazy about the vamp yet! We'll see how things go! He seems to have a lot of similar characteristics to Eric from the sookie books. And I love Eric, so I'm sure that I'll love Jean-Claude to!
Overall - A really good read. Not a favorite, but I have a feeling that the series will just get better.

If you enjoyed the Fever books in audiobook version, you should try the Highlander books in the same format. Phil Gigante narrated all of them, and his voice with the Highland burr is just dreamy. ;)

Kelley Anne wrote: "Jennifer - What did you think of Three Days to Dead? I ended up picking up that book the other day, but haven't read it yet."
I thought it was definitely a good start to the series. And it had enough twists to keep me interested. There was just something that fell a little flat for me. I'm not really sure what it was though, because in theory this really should have worked. Laid a good foundation, but Overall, kinda a 'meh' book for me. Gave it 3.5 stars.

Jennie...I was really disappointed by Unshapely Things, too. It's cover was better than the book. I was really psyched for it, but it was tough to get through. I certainly won't be reading any more in that series.

Kiss of Fire is the beginning of what I think is going to be an excellent series. The series uses common themes and mixes them with unusual element. You have your commonly used guardian who finds his destined mate but mixes it with if that mate is going to be a temporary or permanent partner. We also see the independent heroine who starts to like the idea of turning submissive for the hero. The folklore surrounding the changelings is interesting and refreshing. I really enjoyed the story overall and look forward to the next book in the series.

Next up either Quick's The Third Circle or the anthology Inked.
