Hello! My name is Alex and I'm 24 years old. I've been a fan of Jane Austen since I read Pride and Prejudice when I was in high school. I have since watched several film adaptations of her work and films about Austen's life. I hope to finish reading all of her novels someday. I'm currently reading Northanger Abbey and I'm loving it so far.

My name is Mishana and I love Jane Austen. I discovered her when I was about 14, and scrabbling about on a bookshelf for something new to read. I struggled to read her language then, because I'd been mostly reading books like The Famous Five until then, but I pegged away. I think it was just so delightful to find such sparkling wit between the covers of an ancient-looking book. I've been a convert ever since then, and re-read almost all her books every year.

I'm so looking forward to talking to all of you Jane fans. I'm going to be hanging around these boards fairly regularly now.

My favorite of Jane Austen's novels is usually the one I've read most recently, which this summer is Mansfield Park. When I learned about its 200th birthday I did a quick google and found so much to learn!

Certainly a newbie to Goodreads and to this Group. Love Jane Austen discovered her thru Barnes & Noble classic book (very inexpensive) and I ended up picking up a Jane Austen novel (among others).

Jane Austen has become my favorite author. I love her style of writing, her incredible ability to create a character and how good she is at describing the relationships between characters.

I herald from the U.S. (Western Shore) in Washington State. Married for 19 years and turned 45. Love all things Jane Austen and my wife and I have seriously though of doing one of those Austen Balls.

Welcome Edward! Thanks for joining us. I recommend finding a Regency ball. They are great fun. Every year, the Jane Austen Society of North America holds one for their members who attend their annual meeting. Many people dress in period costume and it is just wonderful to watch!

You should! I've taken some English country dancing classes and it is SO much fun. Even if a person has 2 left feet, that style of dancing is so graceful and elegant!
