Akrisios stumbled through the doorway, covering his left eye.Funny, everything's on the left it seems, my major side. He followed the sounds of sobbing and sat down next to Lyra. He put his free hand on Ever's fur."I'm so sorry, you know I didn't mean what I said about her...or your brother."

Caleb had finally tracked down Cinda and was holding her in his arms, walking through the castle ((I assume that's where they are?)). He heard the sounds of crying and started walking faster. Before he got too close Cinda jumped down and started running. He followed her quickly and walked through a doorway to find Cinda with her nose buried in Ever's fur. Lyra was holding her cat and crying... Ever didn't seem to be moving, and Akrisios was sitting next to her. Caleb's heart skipped a beat. What happened? He was too late to hear Akrisios' soft words. He crouched down next to them.

Akrisios's face hardened when he heard footsteps. His hand trembled slightly when he saw Cinda and he recoiled in disgust."Hello. Caleb.Fancy seeing you here.I guess I should leave you two alone."He lowered his hand to search his pockets.

Caleb shook his head, his eyes sad as he heard Lyra speak. He touched Ever's ear with one gentle finger, his hand shaking slightly. How had this happened? "No, you don't need to go on my account, Akrisios," he said quietly.

Caleb sighed heavily. "Akrisios, I don't know what you dislike about me, but you don't have to leave every time I end up in the same room as you." He took his hand away from Ever as Cinda let out a quiet, sad meow and climbed onto Lyra's lap, nuzzling her face. "I see why you don't want to go back to Defense Against the Dark Arts, though..."

Cinda leapt back, the fur raising on her shoulders. She slunk back into the shadows and sat down, her eyes glinting in the darkness. Caleb watched, a lump rising in his throat. Lyra loved Ever so much... This isn't fair.

Akrisios wrinkled his lip."It doesn't matter what I think in this hell hole.Of that much I'm certain. Well, I'll be changing that soon."He frowned, wincing as the sudden movement hurt his eye.Conjunctivis..."It doesn't matter what I want. It's that I can't. I have other obligations."

Caleb was quiet during their conversation. He felt a twinge of pity for Akrisios. Something was wrong here, more than just anger between him and Lyra.
