"Would you rather have Demas confront her?" Claritza countered. She was good at proving a point.

Brenda was rushing to class with Ani's brother, Sean.

"Can I sit by you," Sean asked the girl as they entered the classroom. His sister was sitting by some pale, funny-looking boy, and he normally sat by her.
Sean led the way to a couple of seats towards the middle of the classroom. "I'm Sean, by the way."

"I think Ani mentioned you once..." Sean frowned thoughtfully, entirely missing her glance towards Tristin. "Do you know Ani?"

[~~~~]
Darin seemed to be very interested in the copyright page of his potions textbook.
[~~~~~]
Claritza shuffled her feet and hummed a tune in her head.
Ani caught Sean looking in her direction and gave a small wave.

"Yeah, she's my sister."

"Yeah, she's my sister."
"It's good to finally meet you," Sean said, not sure what to say in response to Brenda's comment.

Claritza had her nose in a book. It was The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald. She was throughly enjoying it at the back of the class, happily taking her mind off her whole fiasco with Tristin.
[~~~~~]
Brenda waited for an answer to her question from Sean.

"She did not mention that." Wow. Ani had definitely not told him anything along those lines. In fact, the only thing she had really mentioned was that they were going to stay with a nice girl named Brenda over the summer.

((We're reading that book in class at the moment. I like it quite a bit, though the movie was creepy.))

Hearing footsteps coming down the hall, Claritza slid her book under her cauldron.

Herbicide
Ingredients:
-Flobberworm Mucus
-Spike of Lionfish
-Horklump Juice
"Since it's Springtime, I thought it would be a good idea to brew a potion that could get rid of those nasty weeds in the garden, hm? Now, open your Magical Drafts and Potions textbooks to page 379, then make a que and fetch your ingredients from the cupboard."
[~~~~~~~~]
Claritza smiled widely, she loved potions class. The girl rapidly flipped through the pages of her book until she reached the proper one, then stuck her wand in her ponytail for safe keeping. She merrily made her way to the front of the line and collected her ingredients.
[~~~~~~~~~~]
Darin lazily flipped to page 379, slowly got out of his seat and ambled over to the line, seeing the professor taking class attendance out of the corner of his eye.
[~~~~~~~~]
Brenda wasn't overly fond of potions, in all honesty, she was pretty sure that Claritza was the only first year who got giddy at the sight of an 'ingredient' list. Nevertheless, she didn't hate the class. She turned quickly to the proper page and watched Claritza nearly drop her bottle of Flobberworm mucus as she collected her own ingredients.
[~~~~~~~~~]
Professor Prince smiled at Claritza's enthusiasm as she placed little bags of Standard Ingredient on each of her pupil's desks.

"Right, then" she said, picking up the textbook and looking at it for reference, "Since we all have pewter cauldrons, this is going to take 45 minutes. Now, everybody look into your books and begin adding your Spikes to your mortar."
[~~~~]
Claritza eagerly looked at her book and whizzed through the steps, waving her wand before most of her classmates were done crushing the Spikes and the Standard Ingredient. She smiled pleasantly.

"What are herbicides for?" Ani queried innocently as he returned to the cauldron. ((This is like partner lab in science, right? I think? I need to reread these books... The summer!)) She'd never had a garden and they hadn't ever talked about it in Herbology. Obviously she hadn't been paying attention when the professor had explained it just moments ago.

[~~~~]
Claritza's ears perked up at the sound of Tristin's name. She put down the book she was reading and leaned forward in her seat.
Ani shrunk in her seat, and quietly looked at her book.
"Do you like Potions?" Sean asked Brenda as they began working on the potion. He liked the class, generally, but some days...

[~~~~~]
Darin looked at Ani reassuringly, "Hey, don't feel down, I've been told of by Prince thousands of times. At least your in her house."

Claritza's hand shot up like one of NASA's rockets
"Brilliant, come, Claritza," the teacher prompted, "You'll be taking Tristin to the Hospital Wing. I can finish up your potion. Is that alright?"
Claritza suppressed a grin and nodded, "Mmhmm!"
"It's just--" Ani cut off as she watched Tristan sneeze sparks. What on earth?
"Did you just see that?" Sean asked Brenda, seeing the same thing as his sister. "Is that normal?"
"Did you just see that?" Sean asked Brenda, seeing the same thing as his sister. "Is that normal?"

[~~~~~]
Darin followed Ani's gaze and tried his best not to laugh. The boy was sneezing sparks! How funny!
Ani and Sean both blinked at the sick boy. Was this a magical disease? Was there such a thing as a magical disease?

Claritza gave a sharp inhale at his quick flash of green hair and Professor Prince opened her mouth, about to speak.
Brenda was working on her potion and Darin was still trying not to laugh.

The teacher caught Claritza's attention and sent her out through the doorway, "Shh," she said, smiling.
Claritza nodded eagerly and strode to catch up with Tristin, "'Ey, boy-oh," she said, "Are you okay? Your hair went green there for a sec."
[~~~~~]
Tristin's comment only made Darin laugh harder. Professor Prince told him off for it, explaining that it was likely the boy had dragonpox.

[~~~~~~]
Professor Prince looked at Ani in a melancholy way, "Dragon pox is a potentially fatal contagious disease."
[~~~~~]
Darin stopped smiling and Brenda suddenly became interested, her eyes became orangey-brown with a worry.
