When I was little I asked my aunt if the noise in my head bothered her," she laughed lightly and took advantage of the time Caleb was looking down to revert back to the bouncing green hair, wandering green eyes, and icy pale skin that always makes her look like she's just been somewhere cold, "Oh, I'm in Ravenclaw."

Caleb looks back up, and his eyebrows raise. "Oh. You..." He frowns, confused. "Are you... there's a name for it. Avery would know. A meta..." He shakes his head. "I'm sorry."

Caleb nods, grinning. "Right." He tilts his head to one side. "That's so cool. So, can you change your height, things like that, or just your eyes and hair and those things?"

Caleb stepped back a bit, eyes wide. "Wow. That's... uh. Impressive." And a little unsettling, but I guess everyone has their niche. He rubbed a hand over the back of his neck. "That could come in handy, huh?"

"Thank-you," she blushed and looked and the floor, wringing her back-to-normal hands. Returning her gaze to her... friend? Yes, she concluded this boy, Caleb, would be her friend, she responded:

Caleb nods. "I can understand that." He pauses. "Uhm." WIth an apologetic look, he shrugs. "It sounds familiar, but... I don't hang out with many Slytherins, really." I don't hang out with anyone, these days. His mind snaps back, And whose fault is that? He coughs. "What's he like?"

Caleb smiles, his eyes going distant. "I've played there before. Well, played. I used to go there with a friend, sometimes. Haven't been there in quite awhile, though." He fiddles with the end of his tie, trying to think of what to say. "Did you, uhm, see the squid?"

"Actually, there was this sad Slytherin boy... Datin? Darin? Whatever, posing as the squid. I think he just wanted some friends," she looks at his tie, "I like the slytherin colours better than my own. Well, I like anything green." She smiles and starts playing wither her hair.

Caleb shrugs. "Sure." He doesn't know exactly how to act around this girl. most girls, but she seems nice enough. A game couldn't hurt. It isn't as if he has anywhere else to go.

She sat on a bench five feet away, "Sorry, I can't stand for long. The game is called 'Twenty Questions.' one of us thinks of something and the other tries to find out want it is using the questions. The first question is always, 'animal, mineral, person, or place?' because the thing you're think of has to be a noun. I'll go first. Hmm..." she snapped her fingers, "Okay, got it!"

Haha! I used to say that so often... It's been awhile. Oh man. Life's been... really crazy. It still is, but I think I have a handle on the parts that are under my control. Well. Sort of. But I'm good. Livin' life, glad to be back with my Hogwarts pals. I did NaNo, yes! I didn't finish, or even get close, sadly. It was a bad month. But I wrote this weird superhero novel that I will finish eventually. It was a party. I loved the main character.

PS. That's good! I don't know what's been going on... But YES LYRA SHOULD COME. *sighs* Yes, poor Caleb. He is so sad. And he feels all empty and lost and cracked inside right now, but he's trying to just be himself and be friendly and happy. And oh, no, it's not just you. He misses her an awful lot.

Caleb started at the sound of her voice, his eyes going wide. His heart thudded in his chest and he stood up quickly, bending down and snatching Tom up gently. He smiled slightly, scratching the cat under his chin. "Causing trouble again, are we?" He kept Tom held close to his chest, biting his lower lip and turning around. She was coming closer, and he'd have to talk to her. Get to talk to her? Talk to her, anyway. It'd been awhile... He didn't know if she still even wanted to talk to him. But he exhaled, making his shoulders loosen. "Got him," he said, offering a little smile.

Brenda felt abandoned. She wanted to leave, but concluded she was being over-sensitive.

Caleb rubbed two of his fingers together nervously, glancing down at the floor and then up at Lyra. He gave a soft smile, exhaling and hoping she can't hear how fast his heart is beating or how many things are rushing through his brain. "You're alright. Uhm. Hi."

Caleb smiled. "Oh. Course. Sorry." He placed the kitten in her arms carefully, rubbing his ears before dropping his hands. They found their way into his pockets to keep them from dangling uselessly at his side. "Anytime," he said. "He's a fast one." He grinned at Tom. "Very fast, huh?" His stomach twisted unpleasantly and he felt as if he might actually be ill. So much happening at once. "So, uhm. How are you?" He looked up at her, concerned. Last time they'd spoken... "Are things going alright?"

Caleb nodded, understanding. "Of course. When... what would work for you?" He tried not to sound too desperate, but he has missed her. And worried about her. And it was really just very good to see her again.
