Glad so many people are interested in reading or re-reading Cold Fire :-) Nice to hear from you Denise!
Barbara wrote: "Hi Denise.....I have been reading DK since I was a teenager too!!!"Very cool! I had an English teacher who had a few DK books on her shelves in class and happened to pick one up ... the rest is history! Lol. ;)

Thanks for recommending cold fire i just finished it and it was awesome! Another awesome koontz book to add to the list!
Wondering if this group is still going. I see several posts from 2-4 years ago. Anything recent? Who's reading what right now ...?Just finished "by the light of the moon" "intensity" "mr. murder" "innocence"(which is awesome) and just started "the bad place". I've read about 20 or so Koontz books in the last few months. I'm kinda hooked ...
Oh yes, I'm Liz and from Texas, I'm an avid reader of a wide variety of authors and genres. Right now I'm hooked on the horrific beauty that is a Koontz story.
I'm Diane from Long Island, NY. U have to scroll up or down to get to the current postings. The City (newest one out) was the July group read. Their r often mini group reads going on also. I was a part of the Cold Fire mini read. Their is always plenty of activity. I guess since it's summer it is quieter than usual. I was thinking that myself. Usually their is so much going on I feel like an under achiever in the group. Dustin, the moderator of the group, does a great job. He is right on top of everything and goes with the flow. If u love Koontz u r in the right spot. I loved Brother Odd. Still my favorite. Welcome to the group.
I think life intrudes.....I read all the time but have less time to chat about what I am reading.....The City was ok but I want DK to write the way he did in the past!!!

Yeah Dustin.....it's hokey at times.....that seems to happen with filming Kings books.....I don't know why.....but the book itself could not sustain a multi-season show so they have changed a good bit of it.....although SK is involved with the show......I liked the book.....the ending was pretty cool in the book.....will have to see how that is different in the show.
I've been a voracious reader since I learned my ABCs. Started with Bobbsey Twins I think. Child detectives (1970's). I jumped to Stephen King, and read everything he wrote up to Needful Things, early 90's. Somewhere in there I read Koontz's Lightening. For some reason I didn't get hooked. I was too distracted to stay focused on the copious descriptive sentences that make his style. I've probably read a thousand books since.About 7 years ago someone gave me Odd Thomas and I was instantly addicted. I'm flying through every book he's written. I'm trying to slow down, and throw in a few other authors here and there, because I know they'll come to an end soon. I've since re-read Lightening and appreciated it much more.

Hey, I'm David. I'm kind of a new fan of Koontz a bit. I haven't read many of his books. I've read Sole Survivor (which is alright) Servants of Twilight (which is very good) The first in his Frankenstein series (which is excellent) the second in his Frankenstein series (which is good) and the third in that series which sucks in my opinion. He is a pretty decent writer though.
Hi David..... like most writers DK has some so-so books.....I own all his books and he has quite a lot of wonderful books!!! Feel free to ask me about any title before you buy it if you want an opinion from a huge fan of Dean's:D
Hi David. I highly recommend "intensity" and "innocence". Two of my favorites so far. Very different from each other, as their titles imply.

Now I have to add Lightening to my next bookTo read. I think I will be reading about 15 books at the same time. 4 is a norm. Don't know about 15. LOL
Lightening is really good Diane.....just pace yourself!! LolI do the same thing.....I am reading more than one book at a time.....all the time
I need to upload my whole library onto Goodreads!!! Would take time though
;D

I always take time and enjoy them and the good ones it's like loosing a close friend when u r done even I have many more lined up.
I'm "reading" Velocity on audiobook as I commute to and from work. Reading Night Chills on iBook at night, much better than TV these days. A couple others here and there. I also hate ending a book, but the best way to get over it is start another.

I'm Dan. Hello everyone.Prior to April my only exposure to Koontz was the excellent book "Island" which he co-authored with the late Richard Laymon. Then in April, I decided to give Intensity a spin.
Intensity is easily one of the most frightening novels I have ever read. Utterly brilliant. It changed my perspective of how much terror a writer can conjure and made me a Koontz fan for life.
Intensity pushed me to set my expectations for my own writing much higher.
Just finished TickTock, which I found hilarious at times and a good ride in its own right.
Hope to have fun getting to know everyone.
Hi Dan.....that is my favorite thing about DK books.....he makes me laugh so much.....even in the middle of scaring me!!! Welcome to the group!!!
Welcome Dan. Now I have to add Intensity to my must read list. My life really interferes with all the books I must read. LOL. This is a great group. U will enjoy it.

Hi Dan, I have't read either of those yet but they are on my list. Tick Tock is a very popular one it seems. It's a great group. Welcome

Cool, Dan. You should totally check out 'Velocity.' I highly recommend it. Incidentally, 'Intensity' was my first Koontz novel. Velocity won't let you down.

Hi Shawn! Thanks for the friend request. :) I read Cold Fire recently and loved it. My sister recommended it to me and said I had to read it! She was right. :) Excellent book. I love pretty much all of his books, but I love some more than others.
