Begin writing. Immediately. Do not wait for inspiration to hit you like a bolt of lightning from the blue.

Nor should you wait until X Course or Y Workshop has been completed. If you truly want to write, you must begin now.

I advocate reading and writing for a combined 3 hours per day as a minimum. At least 1 hour of this time should be spent writing. On good days, I like to write for 2 hours and read for 2 or more hours. Stay committed. I wrote Storberry from the passenger seat of a Prius on our family vacation to South Carolina, I wrote from the hotel room, and between graveyard shifts. If you truly want it, there will be nothing that can stand in your way.

It is only through this daily ritual that you will begin to write simile freely, construct visual descriptions, and find your voice. Never be discouraged by rough starts. Keep writing and reading, writing and reading, and you will soon progress beyond your expectations.(less)

While somewhat related to my novel, Storberry, it takes a much different approach. If you enjoyed Storberry, I think you will have fun with the forthcoming short story.(less)

Top 10 Stephen King Recommended Thriller Books

Stephen King, the mastermind of the thriller and horror genres, has captivated readers for decades with his unique knack for storytelling. When I first held a Stephen King novel in my hands (“The Shining”, in case you’re wondering), I remember being drawn into a world of suspense and terror that sent me scrambling under the covers. Now decades later, I still consider him a leading authority on the Read more of this blog post »

Maybe. I know, that's a terrible answer.

I'm currently writing the Logan and Scarlett thrillers, so the characters are all back in a new series. Will that eventually lead to more Scarlett Bell thrillers? I honestly don't know, but I'd like to think S See Full Answer

“That’s the problem today. It ain’t the kids’ faults. It’s the parents who don’t trust ‘em enough to teach ‘em to fend for their own. Now I ain’t never been the best shooter, never raised me a prize steer, and there were a hundred guys around here who could fix a roof faster than I could change a light bulb. But the point is I learned how to do lots of different things that parents don’t teach kids anymore.” “My”
